I think I've been doing the Mooring knot instinctively at work to attach customers' dogs' leashes. I suddenly wanted to actually know what was its name haha. It's cool to learn about more knots of the same type. Thanks a lot for this piece-by-piece tutorial!
Excellent, lots of patience in showing us the step by step too. Everyone should learn at least ONE of these and memorize it…great for camping (tying around a tree) or securing a load on a Pickup etc.
Sometimes I’ll use the mooring hitch to tie up my dinghy. It seems to work fine thought it hasn’t really been in a major blow with the mooring hitch securing it. I will usually secure it with a bowline or a rolling hitch. They are probably my favorite knots to secure something to a piling or ring.
Hey there, teespring has a child size S, M, and L. I'll add that option for the hoodie. If you're not sure what size to get, they have sizing charts on their website.
03:15 This is not a Slip knot, it is a Noose knot, or? You are forming the slip in the standing part and this significate a noose knot. If you would form the slip in the working end, it would be a Slip knot.

I could do each of these 5000 times each and within a week I wouldn't know one of them!
I would have to use these a half a dozen times every single day for more than a year and would likely still forget after not using them for a week
Exploding clove hitch! YES! I knew about the 2 loop method. It's brilliant to just throw that over to the side. Thank you!

You just took my snare game to a whole new level
I think the mooring hitch is just a bit easier and works perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Mooring hitch e o melhor
I dont have any use for this, and I probably wont remember this, but why am I binging these videos at 2 am
Glad to be here tim
Glad you are here too!
Super cool! Which one is your favorite?
Which one is the best for tying up a person?
Depends on the person and what you want to do with that person once tied up.
I prefer tying a nice ribbon to pull it apart later in my bedroom.
You are almost at 500k my man
What's a good quick release hitch knot for lanyards when tying to a belt loop?
Great video! I always thought the painter hitch and mooring hitch were the same thing, I guess there are slight differences
Thank you. Would a highway man’s hitch around a vertical object be the same thing as the painter or mooring? Or are there slight differences?
A rope only has 2 ends, but you refer to working end that standing end and the running end. Kind if confusing.

2:56 Looks like a bowline with quick release. No?
Top!
painter hitch and mooring hitch are very similar...
which knot for putting up a temporary clothesline between two posts?
Truckers hitch would work nice
None work for very smooth and SHORT nylon straps.
Good starting knots, but if you have a load to tie tight, you need to tie while the line is taunt and stays taunt..... not so usefull.
None of these knots are intended to be used to add tension to a line to secure a load.
