Greit video! Just found your channel and your content is great! One comment, and you may know this but: after you make the mark point you can press M sel on the ICP to make the mark point the selected steerpoint. This lets you skip the manual steerpoint change. Cheers!
Thanks! The grumble is a bitch but i'll see what I can do. Unless its out in the middle of a desert you can usually find some terrain to mask it in order to take it down single aircraft. With multiple attackers you can run it out of missiles and lob in a bunch of HARMs
I did this video for the Harrier - but Vipers can carry JDAMs as well which is probably the best way to beat SA10s and SA15's....or in this case an SA10 site protected by 5 SA15's 5 SA19 and 5 manpads. Skip to 26 mins in.. It's a lot easier in the harrier as we can ripple JDAMs which the Viper cant but you you only need to kill the Tracking radar to render the SA10 useless and then it's just a case of mopping up and you can still probably safely drop 2 JDAMs in a single pass so maybe the SA10 TR and an SA15 (Skip to 26 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/22n9kezJoIY/v-deo.html No need to make it run out of missiles (I have re-arming trucks with my SAM sites anyway so that doesnt work so well)
@@FLYGaffer the grumble is hard to kill but easy to suppress. we go 3x2 or 2x2 ships attacking with HARMS with a 140 to 180deg heading delta each one magnum-ing with a time interval to maximize suppression time for the strike package to go through to the tgt or to kill it. Going single ship against it is probably doable but suicidal. Great video !
I'm attempting to replicate this but every time I TMS UP on the target on the HAD the TGP slews over, but it's MILES away from the target. Not even in the same zip code. I'll look around for a bit then fly in close to bait them into launching and it's just nowhere close. Does it help to try to get the HTS to get a better position by flying around a bit first?
It does help to turn at least 30-40 degrees offset and fly a bit. Flying an arc around the radar source should help the pod build a more accurate picture of its location. One thing I found is that if the site locks you up, the HTS pod tends to be more accurate if you TMS up on a source that is locking you
tried this exact mission thru the editor, but the mav`s get shot down before it hits the tor when I am at 150 feet and 20-30 seconds out. , tried multiple times same results... edit: if I dont let them fire on me then the mav can get thru... also when I lock with the harm sensor I am always way off on the tpod
TOR-M2/SA-15D is advertised as having a 1.5km min range. I'm curious why this is working. The missile is above radar horizon and so is the aircraft. Is it just the AI not reacting and engaging the incoming missile? Given, with that low altitude break, even if TOR had got a missile off at the aircraft, he broke line of sight. lol, I'd go Rockeyes or CBU and loft them, let the TOR chew on that! Great vid, makes you think.
I’m not sure a power line would take out a jet? If the electrical conductivity doesn’t fry the jet on contact, are the cables tough enough to be a physical obstacle? I assume no because power lines mess up(crash) choppers in DCS but not jets. Jets react a bit (engine detects the collision) but still fly through fine so I assume ED was intentionally modeling it to be somewhat accurate.
@@EbonySeraphim those types of powerlines will shred any aircraft. Your typical residential power lines could as well, but those long distant cables are thick and heavy. -cable guy.
In-game the TOR is capable of shooting down incoming missiles. At least for me, a MAV shot from altitude at max range will always be shot down by the TOR
Excellent. Great to see this technique with the run-in and pop parameters described clearly so it can be repeated.
Just discovered your channel. Great videos ! Thanks for posting them
This is challenging and fun to try, breathes life into the usual. In the past I just try to ignore these things.

Nvm, saw you did this in a later video as well! GG:-)
very nice and to the point, looking forward for more , keep up the good work
Thanks!
Love your work, I've been struggling with ways to beat so SAM systems, would it be possible to see a video on how to beat a SA-10 site?

Just found you channel, nice tutorial well maid and to the point.
Thanks Patrik!
I tried your AGM-65 technique against 2 Tors in excellent and they beat my mavs every time. what skill was your Tor in ?
Are you a long time Falcon BMS pilot? Retired Air Force pilot? A well trained DCS pilot?
Ive always had problems with the tor shooting the maverick down. How do you avoid this? The low level run?
Yes, if you run-in low under the TOR's radar, and pop up at close range as I demonstrated, the TOR will not have time to shoot down your maverick.
@@FLYGaffer bet this works with the harrier too! fantastic thanks!
shooting 2 mavericks from max range without the need to go close also works

Why don't the tor fire at you ?
Is this sa15

i believe the tor still has a target aquire time of 9 seconds
great vid !!
learn from it !!
thanks and a folow for sure

The range of the maverick just exceeds the one of the TOR. So no need for risking low level flight.

@@FLYGaffer you need to fire 2 mavericks for every SA15
@@FLYGaffer interesting that is new to me. I can confirm with the A-10C. Then you only need one missile for them with your tactics. Thanks :)
