"Peek in the orbs. Speak on what I absorb. Observed boundaries, I found a different route to explore."
insane
These two bars alone require a lifetime to digest and synthesize into something real, and boy is it real. If you know, you know.
@@el_mal_de_ojo what does he mean by Peek in the orbs ?
@@b47ancevic53 in the bars before that he's talking about how he's approached the top of the rap game (the peak) but it wasn't inspiring him anymore (didn't feed him) so he had to get a feel for the whole thing (presumably, the different corners of the rap game but also more broadly referring to experiencing all that life has to offer, highs and lows, and how it's all beneficial). Peek in the orbs, as I understand it in context, means 'look into my eyes' and is asking whoever is peeking to describe what they're seeing, what Earl has 'absorbed' from his experiences, to describe what he knows. This plays into the line of finding a different route to explore and run around deep - he made his own path through life, and it took him to dark places from which he's come out of. "I had a bad bout with grief and I tossed a match on it" alludes to this as well - he obliterated the bad state he was in
@@el_mal_de_ojo much love
I love how it’s been 3 years and Earl hasn’t disappeared
our boy is finally outside for good :D
word bro. hes been pretty consistent the last few yrs. its dope
He told us he was in it for the long run
he found a different route to explore and run around deep
He’s past his cicada stage
The sample has an air of victory to it, and then it’s immediately subverted by Earl’s voice to make something that emanates feelings of victory from a wounded man.
TLDR: This shit slaps.
Its that 3 am roadwork mentality. Getting ready for fight night. You know what I mean 🥊🥊
actual art interpretation in the comments, very wicked
Perfect description
Wow thats so deep maaaaaaaan
You sad and depressed all the time - Earl sweatshirt
man this lyricism is so hard to explain, its like these words belong next to each other and the horns are there to cheer them on
You said it right
Dope.
you riding a nice warm sunset wave bruh maybe we'll cross paths when our wavelengths plateau together
Probably the best way to put it
This was the gayest bs statement I have ever heard, his lyricism is trash, he's saying nice things, that isn't being lyrical. Old Earl used to actually have good lyrical bars.
Earl has swag that most people can’t comprehend yet

I know Earl has tons of fans and gets so much love, but I still get the vibe that most people don’t realize how amazing what he’s doing really is, especially recently. He’s an absolute linguistic wizard, but it doesn’t seem like he cares about having to prove that anymore, so he spits at a level of nonchalant wisdom that nobody else really matches, and sometimes he makes it look so easy that people don’t notice. Truly the Buddha of the rap game
That’s it, that’s the truth

I honestly don’t know a rapper that really touches earl in technique. How he perfectly flow on a beat like this with such an insane rhyme scheme, and also pack his lyrics with such meaning. U can vibe to this or focus in and both takes are masterpieces.
Not to hate on Earl at all (he's actually part of this group) but his recent work has been heavily influenced by the Slums collective. I would highly recommend checking out MIKE who's arguably been the reason for Earl's style for the past few years :)
