Thanks for sharing. I guessed $100k but your pool is really nice. We are from Wigan and bought a new build in St. Cloud similar to yours and thought about a pool but you are correct that you will only re-coop 40% of the value on the house but who cares? Enjoy it. We might go for a large paved area and spa instead. I think you got a great deal!!! Appreciate your channel!
I know the majority of your audience is probably your friends & family back in the U.K. Just to say, I am native Texan and have followed you for a long time just because I enjoy your "British-ness". Glad youve made your Florida home so pretty!
I agree w/ Maxine, sorry Barry. Point it toward the hot or cold.Top to point. Glad the bathroom is finally done. It's beautiful.Your outdoor area and pool is also beautiful. Now you can enjoy it !
I agree with Max on the direction of the shower handle. The top of the handle points towards the hot or cold markers. Just like the fuel shut off valve on a motorcycle.
The pool seemed extremely good value! Well done ! ..my guess to the cost was $160000 ! . So pleasant surprise when you finally told us ! . The pool will bring you so much pleasure ❤. And .....sorry Max ..but I think Baz is right about the shower control ( but I am left handed ! 🤭😂) . Well done on your beautiful pool 🎉❤
Down the left side of the house, we had to have a contract with our neighbor to allow access and we would pay to put everything back as it was before we started. The other side was narrower and they would have to use a smaller digger and it would take longer so more expensive
I think it was a bargain! Worth every cent, you'll get so much use out of it - there is nothing better when you have high temperatures than being able to cool off in the pool!!! ENJOY!!!!! ❤
Good to see that you have both realised your wants over property value. Life's too short. Enjoy your hopefully daily dip. I'm envious. Today in UK we reached 18 degrees in my garden. Best so far but boy oh boy have we had a soggy winter. 😍😍
Hi guys all looks very very nice great job, in regard to the shower control its how you interpret what you are seeing I believe you are both correct personally i go with Max but again its how you see it, keep safe Andy and Vonnie
I have a shower faucet with exactly the same issue. Ours works the way Maxine thinks it should. Ours actually has a small arrow at the top that indicates “point this towards the temperature you want”. Sorry Barry. Loving your videos! I only just found you through watching “Cruising with David and Ben” when you invited them to your home and pool, and they threatened to never leave!
SHOWER SAGA: I agree with Barry, the way the shower handle swings is the way I'd expect the temp to be - swing the bottom of the handle to the left for hot, swing the bottom of the handle to the right for cold. If there was a marker on the top of the handle (a grooved line or something) then I'd agree with Mrs B ... but there isn't?
I’m lucky enough to own a home with a huge 70,000 litre pool already installed. I spend 8 months a year in my pool, they’re certainly worth every penny. But here in Aus, to install a new pool costs approx 45k to 65k USD! Is there a law in Florida that requires you to have the mesh pool cover? Every villa I’ve ever rented over there always has a mesh cover. No one over here has mesh covers, I’m intrigued 😉
The law for Florida is you have to have a primary barrier to stop young children accidentally falling in. The primary barrier can be a cage like ours, or a fence or a bush that is a minimum of 5 ft high. A lot of Floridians choose cages as they are there to keep the mosquitos away as well as a barrier , you can get a lot in Florida . Also all house doors and windows to the pool area must have alarms fitted for the same child protection reason .
@@ThemeParkBazza Thanks Bazza, I always wondered. We have strict rules here too with yearly inspections. Fortunately the mozzies are no where near as bad as we don’t have your humidity. I’m envious of your spa, I must admit 🥰
I think you need a support bar for the shower screen (for the glass panel adjacent to the shower door) - for safety reasons. It is not secure when it is only fitted at the bottom.
I’m so glad you went over the whole pool thing and the prices because I’ve always heard 30-40,000 to start out here in California but that was several years ago. I was also happy to hear how many gallons because my water company was saying I was using 33,000 gallons a day average. Come to find out they were just guessing every month. I found out when I called them and questioned why my bill was so high when I don’t have grass at my house and 2 people they said they would come out and check. They put in a new meter and my correct bill came in 2 months later at 88 gallons a day. I won’t have to pay for a while. My first bill said $3,000 but they took off $1,500, that’s why I called in the first place to find out what was going on.
Hi ! I'm new to your channel after seeing you with Ben & David. really enjoying seeing. your house transformation - an epic journey but what an amazing transformation. Love the pool and you now know the bones of the house are good. Emily x
Pool looks amazing and less than I thought. Be interesting to do a vlog on the running costs eg chemicals, maintenance etc. looks like a great financial and personal investment. Thanks for your honesty and openness, excellent content.
We are looking to build a pool in Clermont and wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing the name of the pool company so that we could get a quote from them. Thank you in advance !
Love your home, it’s beautiful. I’m with you Bazza on the controls in the shower, I said straight away that’s the correct way. Let us know the outcome 😂😂
Thanks again for sharing. Our financial advisor told us last year it’s everything else around the pool that costs. We are currently building our backyard in NJ. We went for the spa, waterfall and a pool house. Spending more than you did but about in-line.
Really interesting vlog, I’m in real estate and renovate properties myself so really enjoyed this whole Reno journey. Been watching the channel for a long time on our personal account. We’ve been getting quotes for a pool in our villa in Dubai. Here an 8m x 4.5m basic pool is about $50k without spa, $70k with spa (including ground works, pool and pump room) and closer to $80k with landscaping/ tiling around the pool. I’m sure you’ll make many new and amazing memories in the home.
Hi guys, you have been extremely patient with your home renovations and it is absolutely beautiful 😍 Well done 👏 Wishing you both a relaxing finish to enjoy all your hard work ♥️
A very honest and informative video. You work hard and deserve it. Enjoy it. How much does it increase taxes . I used to service a black surfaced pool in celebration and it was hard work. It was black gravel and it was so hot in the summer and difficult to control. Keep up the good work
Hi Barry & Max Pleased you guys got the shower plate all sorted with minimal damage, love the shower screen now it’s fitted it really finishes the look off. Sorry Max but me & my husband have to take Barry’s side re the hot & cold shower control!! How much😂 you guys have got an absolute bargain of a price for your pool & it looks amazing & well worth every penny xx
Just finished your vlog in U.K., wow what a brilliant deal we were trying to guess and I was expecting $120.000 as you say the pool is for you to both enjoy not to add value. If I owned a home in Florida I would have a pool and it’s beautiful. Maxine has made a fantastic job of designing and styling your home, well done max ❤❤
We agree with others who've said it doesn't matter how much it costs, as you can't take it with you and, as long as you enjoy it, it's worth every cent. We also agree with Bazza about the shower handle (although we understand Max's logic). Thanks for all the videos.
From what you was saying initially I was expecting about 150k so under 100K sounds like a bargain, I think you made the right choice to get one along with a spa rather than just extending the area, if you also think you’ll get about 40% of it back on the house price it sounds great. I agree with Barry with regards to which way the lever should move for the hot and cold
I agree with Bazza on the shower handle (sorry mrs Bazza) We have been to Orlando over 40 times since 1981, it's our happy place, would love to move there, but realistically it's never going to happen. I have only recently started watching peoples vlogs, Sam and Keira, Max and Alex, Adam Hatton, Brogan Tat, the blokes from Stoke , The Kershaws and the Lodge guys, were my fav's until recently till you have become my favourite. carry on doing what you are doing, I love them.

I reckon that is about 20k$ more than I was expecting when picking numbers out of the air. What I am curious to know is the running costs - such as energy costs , insurance etc. But thanks for that .

I’m with you Baz on the shower, because it has a lever. BUT, if it had been a round control I would turn it anti-clockwise like Max. To me, the lever makes it obviously a turn clockwise to hot. 😆
It’s a lovely set up (wow pricey though more than I thought I’d have guessed half that) and I’d much rather be there than here in the UK. We were going to go on a walk in the Peak District up to the crashed B29 bomber site on Saturday but looks like it’s p******* it down yet again so will cancel that. 😂
Just going of the way the valves work at my friend's house in Florida, I'm fairly sure Maxine is right 🙂 I know it's counter intuitive, but that holds true for a lot of things in the US 🙂 Now, at my friend's house things are definitely a bit confusing ... the faucet in the kitchen has a handle that goes up and down. In the bathrooms, the handles on the faucest move from left to right and in the showers there's just a knob that you turn either clockwise or counter clockwise 🙂 It was all very confusing during my first two visits, but I'm getting the hang of it now 🙂
@@ThemeParkBazza Once you get it, it's easy 🙂 The handle on the kitchen faucet goes up to make it hotter, the handles on the bathroom faucets got left to make it hotter and the knobs in the showers go counter clockwise to make it warmer 🙂 The only problem is that in the upstairs bathroom it takes a little more time for the water temperature to go up or down, compared to the downstairs bathroom 🙂
I am with Barry, but husband agrees with Maxine! The pool looks amazing and is a beautiful addition to your lovely home. Love all the up grades you have made. You have very good taste Maxine! Did Barry have any opinion or left the choices to you? Thanks for all you share.
If I get a pool I will be in it most of the time when I’m home. I didn’t know they were that much but if you love being in the water then it’s worth it especially if you’re retired.

In the bathrooms, the handles on the faucest move from left to right and in the showers there's just a knob that you turn either clockwise or counter clockwise 🙂 It was all very confusing during my first two visits, but I'm getting the hang of it now 🙂
Sounds like there needs to be a training course for your plumbing :-)
Max has far more designer sense than I
Hope the revenue from you tubes helps out... ❤
It does!
I agree with Barry on the shower valves
If I get a pool I will be in it most of the time when I’m home. I didn’t know they were that much but if you love being in the water then it’s worth it especially if you’re retired.
We are in it every day since we retured
