You might be my favorite car channel dude, you have this authenticity to you that a lot of these big channels don't have, its really exciting and kind of encouraging to see it all come together bit by bit
Hey Thanks FalconsEye! I really appreciate that! I'm glad you're enjoying the content and I will keep it coming! ✌🏻
Amen
Fixing it the old school way on a budget and scrounging for deals on parts. That’s the way us normal people without big budgets do it. Thanks for keeping it real!
Only way I know how...lol! Hey Thanks!
It's exciting to see you making real progress in getting the El Camino back on the road! Someday, that car is going to really turn heads! In the meantime, you'll still be turning heads as you drive it around on the streets of your part of the beautiful State of Oregon. 😊
Hey Thanks Robert! That's right!
Nice score! Great to see you back!
Thanks!
ITS COMMING ALONG NICELY.👍👍👍🙏🙏
Hey Thank You!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage YOU ARE WELCOME GOOD PRICE FOR THAT FREE REAR AXEL. IM GLAD YOU FOUND ONE.😁😁😁😁
Mate, as others have said your approach is refreshing. Its resourcefulness and ingenuity. Not juat reaching for a catalogue and sending an email.
Gotta love it. Keep at it, man
Phil
Hey Thanks Phil! I really appreciate that!
The guy who gave you those parts is a stand up guy. Thats what I do. It I can help out a fellow car guy I do. Well done 👏
So Great! Hey Thanks!
I've taken the plumbing round brushes from home Depot, cut the handle off and brazed a piece of brake line on to extend it so I can spin it with a drill.
Great idea!
Thanks for another , Brother !
Thanks for watching!
It'll be really nice to see this old car fixed up lookin good and rolling down the road !!
I can't wait to drive it!
1 of my favourite cars, a Chevrolet elcamino that style, supercool video 📹 Cheers 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇺🇲🇺🇲🦘🦘🦘🏔🏔🏔
Hey Thanks @MetalMania ! I've always wanted a 59! So cool!
@CountryBoyGasGarage my pleasure, and yes, it's 1 of the best-looking Chevrolets IMHO, 👌 Cheers🍻🍻🍻 KC 🇦🇺🤝🇺🇲🦘🦘🦘🏔🏔
I figured out that wrench trick on the e-Cable from sheer desperation and frustration. So proud of myself when it actually worked!!
Heck Yeah!
cool that's the way I did my 46 one part at a time see you next time
Just like Jonny Cash said!
Enjoyed the video doing good cant wait to see the next video have a blessed day and upcoming week
Thank you! God Bless!
It's a labour of love, these rusty old classics. Glad to see you putting in work on it.
Hey Thanks!
You saved this car from becoming a fossil.
Any farther gone and It'd be a parts car...lol!
Is that a fate worse than becoming a Kia? 😂
...or from becoming a refrigerator or blower shroud, etc.
Nice job saving that El Camino housing! Awesome!
Hey Thanks!
Looking good! You can use pipe to hammer on the bearing retainer.
Hey Thanks!
It was nice to see all of this. As I pressed and the cooked. A Bison Burger patty on. My oven range stove.
Hey Thanks! Very nice!
I loved The Blues Brothers reference! Actually made me laugh out loud.
Awesome! Hey Thanks Bree!
Looking good Jason.
Hard work and patience goes a long way.
I order a bus decal from your store to hopefully help a little.
Hey Thanks! I really appreciate that!
Excited to see that ole Elcomino get a Vette rear ... Great to watch your videos.. been watching since you pulled the bus out of the field of trees...
You always have good videos
Wishing you the best in all you do..thanks for sharing 😎👍

Nice score on the rearend parts. That's alot of hard work. Looks really good. 👍
Hey Thanks! Yes hard work but comes with satisfaction!
Nice work on the rear end. Looking almost brand new. Good old-fashioned elbow grease will almost always work. Take longer then using machinery, but good exercise is always a good thing. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
That's right! Hey Thanks Brian!
Thanks for the video. Enjoying this build!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Man that rear axel was a mess. Great job cleaning it up and bonus on the gear set.
Hey Thanks!
Hose clamp works real well to get those tines started through the hole...then release it and pull it the rest of the way out. Nice job! Good score on that axle!
Hey Thanks TnT!
Putting in the work brother!! That stuff ain't easy, but definitely worth it!!
Thanks Chaz!
Jason don't forget to order Crush Sleeves for that axle too. To tell the ratio look on the ring gear for the stamping. That is the number of teeth for the ring & pinion gears. The large number is the ring gear teeth the small number is the pinion gear teeth. Divide the big number by the little number the answer is your gear ratio. Peace Buddy 👊😎👍
Hey Thanks Merc! I appreciate that! I was just thinking that i better figure out the ratio before i install it ✌🏻
@@CountryBoyGasGarageNames Paul Jason and Your Welcome. Some Vettes came with as low of a gear as 410 to 1 which is great for leaving the line but will empty your pockets on the expressway real quick 🤭👍I run a shortened 59 Pontiac "Big Chief" 12 bolt in Brutus (my 47 Merc) with a 488 to 1 gearset. With the the 33x21.5 Hoosiers it comes out to a 378 to 1 ratio. I had to put in a Gear Venders Overdrive behind my 400TH to keep the rpms at 75mph to around 3200. Peace Buddy ✌️😎👍
Jason I sure wish you had a friend with a sandblaster closer to you buddy, sure would have saved you a lot of time,if I were only closer I have 3 big blasters and air fed helmets and Diesel air compressor 185 Sullair, I would have been there for you buddy 👍🏼😉sure makes that part of a restoration job easier but I know you did a good job with what you had 💪🏼
Oh Man I wish! That would make Life much easier...lol. Thanks Ron!
Great find! Nice work!
Thanks!
Cool ride man ! That's the way us guys on a budget have to do things, but isn't that what makes it fun and interesting? Good luck with your build , looking forward to see how your build goes.😊
Hey Thanks!
Cheers buddy.
Cheers!
Looks like it will be a great rig, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

Good Things to Good People.
Corngats.
Thweet Thcore!
Can we eventually spray Bomb it 2 tone Roman red and Snowcrest White? Or are we blacking out all the Chrome and painting it one of them new fangled Glossy Drabs?
23:14 press in 5 new bolts you mean right?
Thanks 1! Haven't decided on the body and paint yet. Probably keep the patina for now
@@CountryBoyGasGarage S.O.S pad scrub and a coat of NuFinish? Elbow Grease and Penny Pinching aren’t rules but they are Guidelines!

Good score Jason. That should all work. What gears are in that center section ? 👊😎👍
Thanks! I'm not sure the gears so hopefully they work out.
👍
👍
Great buy for sure!! Those Vette brakes look like a larger diameter, are they?
Thanks! I think the same
Just subscribe bud. I’m doin a 56 2 dr wagon , goin as fast as an old 62 yr old broke down hippy can go. About to do full floor pan , already did the rocker panels . And full front end rebuild with drop springs and disc brake conversion . Hopefully floors in a week
Heck Yeah! Sounds like a great project! Thanks for subscribing!
Good job but I think a bigger hammer would have helped I believe
Thanks!
Yes, like a ball peen or small sledge.
So, what's the scoop on the engine ? Have you had any time to work on it ?
No, I haven't even attempted anything yet. I'm really hoping it's good... 🤞
Wow you grabbed a big chisele and totally the wrong hammer a nailing or framing hammer you need a ball pean or 5 lb sledge the first chisele you grabbed was the right one youda had more control with it can tell you're a back yard mechanic
I knew someone would notice that...lol I can't find my 5lb and I totally need a new ball pean hammer.
@CountryBoyGasGarage cool well at least you got them off
🔧🛻 ❤

It'll be really nice to see this old car fixed up lookin good and rolling down the road !!
