I stopped watching shark tank because it just feels fake and acted out

Go see the British one, it’s even better and more serious. No one’s really rude on it, a bit cold but not needlessly cruel, and it’s just straight talk. Moreover they don’t bring on obvious scammers.
But yeah Shark Tank is like 90% Mark Cuban just yelling and interrupting everyone and pissing then off.
All three versions have something to offer.
They're still in business after over a decade! Except their website doesn't look like it sells the coconut water, only the hungry buddha snack bars.

Seems the company is still going and pretty strong. Closed a $5.25 million round of investment this year as well.
I've tried the product and it's not that good. It's not much different than many other coconut waters and to be fair, my city doesn't have a great selection of coconut waters so I'm still waiting on a good one. The biggest thing they have going for them is the the buddha trademark, in other words, vanity sells, even if the product is bad to mediocre
Call me old fashioned but i like to see a company's worth based on its sales and not just how much money has been invested in it
@@karishmadas420 They're not a tech company or produced something new & revolutionary, so it's pretty difficult to raise $5 million without a significant amount in sales.
@@SG-jm7np Doesn't matter. If they constantly need investments. It means they aren't making enough money to fund themselves. That's not good.

They messed that up pretty well, being a bit greedy me thinks.
That said, they could be confident in their product. I think Endy and Ring have turned down Dragon's den deals and have obviously done better without them.
@Connor Dakoz By asking 4 dragons to come in they are offering 3.75% to each dragon, which is peanuts considering the time investment.

Compared to the US or UK versions, it seems like more offers are made on this Canadian version, but also more people try to negotiate the offers, and end up with the offers being withdrawn

Getting fair offers on an exaggerated valuation and they got greedy. They blew it big time. I would be thanking my lucky stars to get what I asked for and someone like Arlene. What is WRONG with people? A perfect example of when the dragons are fair and the entreMANEURS are dicks.
I actually went BOOM when all 4 went out. I very very rarely side with the dragons/sharks but I was actually happy they were brought rocketing down back to Earth and put in their place.
lol I see this around fortinoes and Sobeys… but at that price I’d rather the original brands from Thailand lol. Cheaper and tastes the same if not even better.

Thirsty Buddha is by far the best coconut water drink out there. Just wish I could find more than two flavours.

depends on their mood and what's the deal I guess. They've been known to split deals. That said, I think Kevin's the least likely to split a deal. And these guys are also competing with each other too.

They definitely had a preference to Arlene. Should've asked Arlene if she wants to partner with others. I am glad they are still doing well though as I still see their products in the store.

If I buy Coconut Water it's Taste Nirvana. The ONLY good Coconut Water. Kevin was literally the only good Dragon for this & you should've negotiated with him alone. Those others I haven't seen any products her in the USA yet 2 of them claim to have connections.
They can claim connections, but don't have to say whether those connections brought them any successful deals! 😅

The brand name is problematic. They are using Buddha’s name as a catchphrase... They are taking something sacred to Buddhists and using it to make money. Buddhism is a complex religion practised by over 500 million people around the world. Please choose to respect our faith by not using it for self-serving purposes. Thank you.

I would agree they probably didn't like the deal that much. But also, perhaps due to pride, they sometimes get offended if their offer is rejected.
@@supertouring1 I kind of understand it though. They are the ones being asked, so the feeling of "you're enough when we don't get what we want" isn't a great starting point for a healthy business relationship.
@@northgambit That feeling is common among investors across all four of the Dragon's Den and Shark Tank shows I have watched. What do you think? Does it actually make good business sense? How does starting a relationship that way really translate into numbers or control? Getting your feathers ruffled in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in return from a good investment seems worth it.
@@stevengreidinger8295 it depends what kind of person you are. I wouldn't mind, personally, if I'm convinced of a product/idea. I would try to not let emotions cloud my judgement. But I don't know, I guess those guys trust their gut instinct since they've already "made it"?!
