True, but the double is against the rules. If it were allowed I know that at least Casey Andringa would be doing it. He’s trained it on snow and landed it. Also he and his brother have trained it a fair amount of times on ramps. I only know because my brother was there training with them
He overrotated during backflip, realized, he would land on his head (1&1/2 rotations), so quickly pulled his feet up to increase rotation, did a double backflip to save his neck. He succeeded. This is not a fail, it's a bloody epic win.

Can you imagine trying a huge double back flip and crashing on an icy mogul? My knees would've broke.. He stood up like it was nothing. That kid is a beast. 😲
I like how the commentators are speaking finnish 99.9% of the video, but in 1:56 he adds a swedish "herregud!" (oh, my god!). It's like us swedes adding a "satana, perkele!" when we want to exaggerate a bit. 😁
I'm Finnish and I use it myself sometimes. It depends where you are from, but mostly Western Finns use "härreguud" (as we say it :D). Also we have lot of other loan words from swedish language. My favourite is "räknätä" which means "to think" but in swedish it means "to count" (räkna).
What a spectacular fail though. It’s like he was going much too fast at the jump, instead of over-rotating the first flip he pushed for landing a second as a save! He deserves an A+ and a gold star for that effort. Amazing. Win/Fail
So rad he made the decision in the air to go for second flip and was so close to nailing it ! I’m surprised he can ski at all with those giants balls he’s packing !
NwC the double isn’t allowed in bumps, probably for safety reasons. Casey Andringa has trained it on snow, and discussed his disagreement of the rule. If it were allowed, it would probably be really popular.
It is unintentional. Too much speed but he does it anyway, but realizes that he has way too much air so he goes in tucked after a lay and that is just a bit too short.
The thing is, he didn’t try. If he attempted to do the double in an fis event he would have been disqualified as doubles aren’t allowed in moguls. He used it as a recovery to save his self after going too big off the jump.

Brett McNary true. After having watched ski comps the last two weekends though, I could see why coaches would be involved in not allowing the double for safety reasons. But then again last weekend at a Noram, a girl (probably) broke her leg stopping after her dual run. Not sure what the people on the board can say about preventing that...
