As a league player, I can tell you DOTA is harder. League players can’t figure out how to play league properly with propped macro, no way they figure out DOTA. I prefer league though for the skill
Yeah, by harder, it's just more complicated, but being harder or more complicated doesn't make the game better. If LOL is a chess, then DOTA would be GO. Go is harder but Chess is more popular, and we can't say Go players are better or smarter than Chess players at all
No it's not. It's harder for the first week u play. If u stick with it for a month you realize the game is too easy and has no depth. Pro games look exactly like 100 mmr games xD. It's literally just a bunch of knowledge checks.
@@YIPPIHEEthat if you go in league for a few matches and was goat in it, it's not like "dota players can play league", because lol players also can play dota like this. And for both games if want to win, you must to learn a lot: in dota 2 - about the game itself and champions, in league - about champions and the game itself.
@@YIPPIHEE denying makes wave control easier. Lol also has freeze, slowpush and fastpush, but it is much more difficult to create and hold them due to the fact that you can kill only enemy creeps. More mechanics does not always mean "harder", sometimes these are just additional tools that make the gameplay easier, make mistakes less significant. For example, buybacks - which smoothes out the fatal mistake of a player who already wins a player who already wins against his opponents. I'll tell you a secret - there was once even a character in the league with the ability to deny creeps, but it was remade because in the absence of couriers, it is not so useful, although it makes it much easier to build a wave. But with couriers, leaving the game without the ability to break the freeze means giving stable winnings to those champions who initially dominate the lane, because they will never leave the lane otherwise. In Dota, there are similar mechanics in the tutorial, and in general, you can learn them just by discovering, for example, killing your own creeps. In lol in this regard, it is more difficult - you will be humiliated on the line, and you will not even understand what you are doing wrong, and why you are being defeated, until you go on the Internet and read about wave control and so on. And there are no less nuances in lola than in Dota, only unlike Dota, which is more focused on active items and builds, lol focuses on champions and their abilities. In this sense, I would say that Dota is more trying to be a strategy (that favorite comparison of all Dota players with chess), although it still does not become so, while lol is a mob, as it should be. Good luck, if you really want to get to the bottom of the truth - play lol until the moment when you are calibrated to ranks.

I uninstalled the league and continuously playing dota now for 3 months straight and im still on archon idk if its that hard or im just playing at sea server😂😂
Only in Dota where you find a melee hero harassing harassing a ranged enemy level 1. Also the fact that a lot of items are pressable is really crazy every hero can be invisible, items that makes a squishy hero very tanky and boots that gives you TP every 40 seconds.
If you think your having a hardtime playing MOBA games try playing RTS games, I mean I'm not saying RTS is better but playing RTS will make you learn core skills to play MOBA better.
How can you explain to a League player that there is Damage type and armor type in Dota. Damage type interacts differently from armor type. That alone is a very deep part of it's complex mechanics.
@UncleApip Yup there is. Look at the creeps. They have an ability that tells you what their damage type is. Yeah, it is a remnant of Warcraft that would never part with Dota.
The f do you mean? League have damages base on Physical Attack, Magic Attack, Health Percentage, Mana percentage. There are armor pen and magic pen. And that’s not too deep wdym it’s hard to explain. Like those are basic moba knowledge lmao.
Dota players often compare the difficulty of the game with League players, but the thing is, an easy game is easy for everyone, and a hard game is hard for everyone. No matter how easy a game is, there will always be players better than you. It’s like running 100 meters, anyone can run it, but that doesn’t mean anyone can become Usain Bolt
As a 7 year league player i quit like last year, dota 2 is much much harder. There is so much more control to everything you do. Each game has no set lane and each lane can have any champ.
@@valelelentin in pro games, there are 200 iq plays even when denying creeps. You just don’t see the way players creep aggro in lane. Suppose your creep dies in 2 hits, and the enemy is waiting for his creep to hit your creep so that he can last hit the creep. But you know that, so you creep aggro and make the enemy creep stop hitting your creep just when the enemy thinks that his creep is gonna hit your creep and he prepares to take last hit. But that doesn’t happen, and the enemy messes up his last hit (which was supposed to die in 2 hits doesn’t get enough hits from the enemy creeps), and you can then deny the creep.
@@valelelentindenying is not only having faster reaction time than your enemies, it’s about creep aggro, it’s about your pos 4 pulling waves all the way from enemy tier 2 to your tier 2 and farming/denying safely under your tier 2, it’s about their support knowing that and trying to disrupt your pos 4, it’s about using your hero model as a big shield so that enemy missclicks onto you instead of the creep.
these are just knowledge based mechanics. league requires raw skill to beat your opponents in fights. in dota you can win with macro alone but in league you need both macro and mechanics to be good. if you've never played league at a high level this won't make sense to you
@@Marc-fk6siahhaha wtf r u even talking about? Micro and macro both corelate to each other. In order to have a good macro (say, rotations, map control, farm) you need to have a good mastery of micro skills (spell usage, movements, last-hitting, ward placements, etc). How tf do u win a game by macro alone when macro are literally built up by you (and your team's) micros? You can't farm effeciently if you can't last hit. @@Marc-fk6si Point and click? All of them? If that's what you believe then you might not be eligible to talk about this matter buddy. You say surface level? It is, but if you peel back the surface level of Dota you'd be here all night. "Point and click" lmao
The playerbase tells everything, LoL has way more players, because it’s way more begginer friendly, I think Dota doesn’t have a future because it isn’t getting new players, because it’s way to complex, and in the last 5+ years they added pre game hero variations, and there is already in game hero variations(facets and talents), they recently expanded the map by 20%, there is a neutral item slot where you get items from neutral creeps or minions from the jungle. Also in general Dota is a more polished and better game, balancing is way better in Dota, heroes are more refined with much more responses to events, like voice lines for killing certain heroes or even dying to certain heroes. The balance you can tell by the pro scene, where in Dota much more heroes are picked in variation, in LoL there is a certain pool of overpowered heroes that are always picked.
@@abbuzz9912 Wow, some CS kid got mad. Well, in CS about 0.4-0.75% (depending on data) of players end with Global Elite. Meanwhile in LoL, only like 0.01% of players can hit challenger (and ending a season with challenger would be even a smaller percentage). LoL is diff breed.

I play league since I was 9 years old. I've been playing for 12 years and the first shot I gave to Dota was a total disaster. I didn't understand what I was doing. Trust me, dota is harder. Do not cope.

@@LiiiKeAbOzZzZ I agree. it is easier to be a goat in league than in dota, given how the complexity in dota depends on the patch and some other unknown random variables which makes the e-sport scene pretty much unstable and dead. you have to absolutely drain your life power to be a decent player in dota, which makes the competition level so much harder to enter
@joinmeng yea and thats why the Game sucks and has a fraction of the playerbase leauge has. Leauge is the greatest E-Sport Titel ever and tbh nobody cares about DotA 2. The only quality it has, is it being harder due to the fact you can deny your own creeps. Its an over the top mechanic and honestly its whatever. I prefer not having than having it, it takes a lot of pace away too. And no to be the goat in leauge youve gotta be better than faker, which is quite impossible
@@LiiiKeAbOzZzZ the fewer player base alone is already a living proof the game is very hard, and I mean really difficult for a normal gamer to pick up and understand. there's so much mechanics that makes it a lot harder, but yes, one of them is the laning stage, where u have pull, aggro, deny, etc. it seems simple on its surface, but theres actually so many things that you can break down and "what couldve been" during that first 10 minutes. The fact that there's already an undisputed goat in league just means how the competitive level in league is not as high as in dota.
This is for the people saying Dota is "better"/"good" version of League. Yes Dota is harder and more complex, yes League require more hands on occasions, macro wise both games are complex but no way Dota is a better game than League. I agree with the more complex points but if making a good game = it should be easily accesible to the majority, easy to pickup, retain player base for a long time, League having 50x players more than Dota for 14 something plus years proves that it's a more enjoyable and fun game (to the majority). I played both with over 1.5k hours on Dota 2 and prolly 8-9k hours on League (and I played Dota warcraft + Dota 2 early beta for a few hundred hours even before League but it doesn't count) I'd still rather play one over the other. If you're super into knowledge checks, map movement and item depth then from your pov Dota 2 is way more fun which is understandable but League is still the better version of Dota
Dota is the better version of Dota, League dev is basically just insulting their players by dumbing down the game, it's like they think the players are that dumb
In dota 2, we have a hero that have 10 skills where u have to combine 3 orbs to get 1 skill. There's also meepo or lone druid where u have to control more than 1 hero. And then theres courier deliveries, wards and dewarding mechanics, pulling nature creeps, stacking nature creeps for farming...
Man, if you look at the developing history of Lol, then you will figure out league is the simplified version of dota. Dota 2, is the closest version of dota so ofc it's harder
As person who played both game dota had more stuff to mange so It could be said it's kinda more complex but more complex or harder not mean better. If you enjoy one of this two game or any game In general just avoid and ignore the toxic part if communities and you good to go
Funny for me was i reached Immortal in Dota and I was bored so I gave league a try. Some of my friends were playing it for years and even tho I didn’t rly understand the game I was dominating almost every game and reached in 2 months diamond. (Including grinding to lvl 30)
Same for me except league was so boring I just stopped playing. They just straight up removed 90% of the strategy and replaced it with reaction times and OP paid heroes. In Dota a hero may be powerful but there's a million different ways to counter them, in league they are powerful and not only can you not really draft around it, but good luck countering it with the one dimensional items.
OG dota players have insane memory in building items according to the character types, plus hero manipulation like Invoker is definitely like learning to be a wizard(?)
Yeap. Creep denies makes it easy to macro the game. In League, you gotta know how to control the wave state without denying your own minion. Dota 2 is much easier in that aspect.

the correct take. dota 2 is like watching pro sports like football and basketball. once you know the rules and mechanics, it is infinitely more fun to watch than to play the game yourself. this has resulted in TI having huge viewerbase but not enough concurrent players to reflect that viewerbase. LOL has always been more welcoming to newer players because of relatively simplified mechanics. But at the top level, the actual difficulty is not in the mechanics, it's outplaying your opponents. and in that regard neither is harder than the other. so, we have to assume the question is about mechanics wise and it's learning curve. that's where dota 2 is objectively harder.
@@TrailBlazeEdit01 when talking about graphics, ofc dota has realistic and gritty art style while league having more vibrant art style, which is designed to appeal to a wider audience and to be visually accessible. this is why you can still play league on ur potato PC.

If the only thing a Community is proud about how hard their game is, why bother starting? Not many ppl want to invest 100+ hours to just get used to the very basics. In most popular games, if you spend that time well, youre kinda decent. Dota Community to me is a lot of Elitists
I have over 1k hours both. Both games are challenging in their own ways. LoL requires quick reflexes and fast decision-making, as the game moves rapidly and timing is critical for abilities and rotations, while Dota emphasizes strategic thinking, requiring players to make calculated decisions, like counter-picking heroes and choosing the right items based on the opponents.
In LoL, you can just buy recomended items and you are fine. However, in Dota there is no such thing. You need to create almost unique item build every match. It is also super important to keep an eye on enemies items. Items are mostly like skills in Dota. For example, If enemy used BKB, he is immune for all type of skills. So a decent player need to remember when he used BKB since it has a cooldown and you need to know when to attack before it's BKB is active again. This is just a very small detail of item based strategies in matches in Dota

Items, Knowledge are the same in both. League requires you to be able to predict and actually have hands. Because league is more skilled based. Its not hard to understand the game. But the skill with your champion is what makes league different from Dota.Just watch pro players. They do things with their champ you didnt know were possible.
League has way more objectives to play around, dota's objectives are basically towers, Roshan and runes. Dota is just harder to play because it's harder to define the much needed play and the balance of champs and items and how they blend together make it even harder. If valves start taking dota more seriously, peek at win rate charts and fix some particular champions who have been sitting on 55% wr on all ranks for the last 2 years I might aswell start playing it again
Doesn't league literally let you know where the skill lands with a few exceptions? DotA and DotA 2 just don't have that, most of the time you have to predict where enemy will cast their skill.
Mostly no, in lol you have to learn how to dodge. Few abilities tell you where they hit, like brand W showing a ring under it or xerath W. However, if you already were in the very center of these two abilities, you will be hit anyway unless you are super fast. You have to typically react to the enemy character cast animations and sound.
Bro that nouns player that said league is all about landing skillshots is very true, dota has a lot of point click skills & league only have numbers of point click skills. How can you explain to a League player that there is Damage type and armor type in Dota. Damage type interacts differently from armor type. That alone is a very deep part of it's complex mechanics.
That's warcraft stuff, or are you talking about the physical magical and pure damage?? if so I think that's in most mobas nowadays
@unluckysummoner2542 Nah bro, it's still in the game. Different units have different damage and armor types still. You can check it out for yourself.
@@DKtrek21 Wym bro. There's no armor types in Dota 2. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.
Dota definitely harder to play as the game is quite slow to build up and minion denied which is frustrating.
League is more about reaction time.
Denying is not that hard, it’s like last hitting, you get into the habit.

@@Marc-fk6siahhaha wtf r u even talking about? Micro and macro both corelate to each other.

If you're super into knowledge checks, map movement and item depth then from your pov Dota 2 is way more fun which is understandable but League is still the better version of Dota

the correct take. dota 2 is like watching pro sports like football and basketball. once you know the rules and mechanics, it is infinitely more fun to watch than to play the game yourself. this has resulted in TI having huge viewerbase but not enough concurrent players to reflect that viewerbase.

And the reason I don't play dota is because league is already tiring to play with all it's mechanics, and Dota has even more mechanics like turning animations and killing your own cs 😭
Harder doesn't mean better. But yeah, we are talking about which one is HARDER. So, DotA2 wins
Harder to hit skill shots in league???? Bro hasn't heard of the legendary miss every hook herald
