Great video Sandy, enjoy you out in the bush again. You seem quite at home when you are out on a wilderness adventure. Being a yank I never realized that the UK had so much beautiful countryside to explore. Keep making such wonderful videos and we will keep watching,
Watched Part 1 and 2. Beautiful moorland countryside, thanks for shearing the beauty of Exmoor. I also found it very interesting when you showed and talked about the different tents and equipment each of you lads were using. Even got me thinking, perhaps I'd like to try a wild camp on Exmoor.
Love the natural sounds Sandy; wind is chilly... As always the editing is perfect. You've a great tent; you carry a lot. The river feels cold. Love it.... Peace, Ken
Hi Ken, Yes the little river is cold but the water is quite pure to drink. Temps went down to zero C at one point and we had ice on our tents. A long winter ahead I guess but I love all the seasons . Noel is an Oldster too. He is over 70 but still enjoying the outdoors:) Sandy
I gotta say , you do a really great job on your videos Sandy. Love the music choice and when I listen with my Bose head phones it makes it Theatre quality audio and video. Peace
Alexander, I thought of you guys camped out on Exmoor while I was camped out in Vermont last night - got to 26 F here, about -3 C I guess. Your videos are very relaxing and I loved the part with the close-ups of the river. Thanks for doing these. Geez why would anyone hit dislike on this, what's the matter with them?
Sandy, a perfect video to settle down to sleep, hopefully dreams of wild camping will follow. The least i/we can do is to thank you, putting in the effort making this superbly satisfying video. Be well.
A very nice outing Sandy. Very beautiful terrain and great companions. How could you possibly go wrong there ?? Thanks for taking your camera with you so you could share it with us. Enjoy the outdoors and stay safe and happy my friend.
Swan Vesta lol...and the river meanders on and on through swathes of green, brown, blue and grey between ancient gnarled oak and twisted thorn. A superb watch and listen Sandy. Thank you. Paul :)
Ade Larsen Me a master Ade? Very nice of you to say so. I love nature and it elicits the feelings, the words, draws them out, lets them flow so maybe more a product of nature than classics :)
great trip , glad the cattle staid away. condensation is very hard to combat this time of year .. thanks sandy for sharing your trip , i always love the beautiful areas you have .. ..bill
Again a solid report of proper wild camping. Hah, Simon puts his money where his tastbuds are! Nice! Thanks for sharing these good times, for I know the effort... nice to have such good mates!
Sandy I've watched a few times and each time it seems to get better, so I feel that I ought to leave a comment. I love your footage of the wild scenery, you really do capture the atmosphere of the moor to the point that I actually feel like I'm on the walk with you guys. This is deffo on my hit-list for 2020. Regarding your tents, I've watched so many tent reviews but each time I come back to the HexpeakV4a. It's light and if the weather is bad, it allows you to sit up in the dry and comfortably cook inside. Hillybergs are good but in rainy weather you're pretty stuck for space and cooking, so my new tent for 2020 will be the Hexpeak - another great video Sandy!
It is lockdown in U.K. at the moment so I am revisiting all your vids ... they always transport me into a wonderful world despite the rain. Your vids are timeless and I really appreciate the hard work you put into each one .. a true pleasure!! 😄
Really nice couple of videos! Lovely scenery and nice tranquil camp site. Working my way through your camping videos and really enjoying them. ATB, Dave
Hi Sandy. Really enjoyed this mini series. If you look up "relaxation" in the dictionary you will find it says "aka Noel". lol. He really gets it. Great tent and setup, you look cozy. Loved the stream/water montage, very chilled and great that the boots worked out. Cheers mate. ATB Moose.
Nice too see the not so daft hat is keeping ya warm ie it might look silly to some people but when it matters ya don't care what ya look like as it's doing the job 👊👍
As always a triumph of editing and a very great pleasure to be invited once again. Next trip out I may make a video of you making your video, just so that people can see the effort you put into them and the polished finished article that comes from it :)
Hi Sandy , dont worry about the chap not wanting to share his whisky secret, 2 thirds Laphroaig 1 third Drambuie its what the experts mix for their hip flasks, try it , cheers mate,
I spent a New Year in Devon once, and we went for a wander on Exmoor, it's a nice part of the world. It's interesting what you were saying about the quietness. I've been a lifelong sufferer of tinnitus, and I find that the natural environment is the one place I scarcely notice it.
Hi Rob, I have suffered tinnitus for around 30 years. It is awful! I had a tumour on my acoustic nerve (acoustic neuroma) that is the cause of my tinnitus. hearing loss and facial paralysis. But as you say, in the natural environment I can still appreciate quietness:)
Wow that's rough mate, sorry to hear that. Tinnitus is an entirely subjective thing, and it sounds as if your experience is worse than mine. I think it's probably an advantage that I've never known any different. Loving the videos. Take care and keep enjoying the outdoors :)
Simon you're such a fibber! That little red tent will have leaked like a sieve in those conditions! I know, because I had one and my kids slept in it!! LOL!
"A bad friend is far away though his cottage is close. To a true friend lies a trodden road though his farm lies far away" Taken from the Håvamål - sayings of the Vikings.
Good day to you sir. I've just discovered your channel and having now watched quite a few of your videos, I have to commend you on your fantastic carefully thoughtout filming, you must have worked in the business I assume as the videos are really carefully crafted together, plus the content is facinating and varied, keep up the good work, very much looking forward to watching further videos. All the best.
Another great vid sandy. we could debate whos the best and worst camping vid maker on ere till the cows come home (pun intended). But you are without a doubt the most chilled, (weather related pun). i'd never heard of a 'cattle check' till now. slept in a cow shed one time, with cows. on the understanding we would all wanna sleep. The cows came home alright, but were up all night chatting like teenagers. i made a decision that day, take a tent, never mind how much it weighs. Keep the vids coming, ive said before, you and Abbie barnes are my ridgeway inspiration. its on my list to complete the whole thing, ive done ivinghoe - watlington so far. gonna do the rest soon as possible. Gary
Didn't we have a luverly time, the day we went to Exmoor? The rain, the hail, the howling gale - what more could four men need? We tramped all day, we slept all night - and then we cooked our breakfast. Enough fresh air to last a week - a jolly time indeed! Where to next? Noel
Thanks. That time it was an injury from which I recovered and completed the Ridgeway walk solo a few weeks later. A year or more on though, my other knee is wearing out now. That's life!
The knee trouble Noel should not stop you getting out. We will cut our cloth accordingly. Maybe one month we will do a short walk camp in which you can join us and then perhaps on the longer hikes you can stay at home and watch it on the screen:)
Thank you Sandy for a nice video, you are lucky in the fact that you can cook in your tent, in my part of the world here in BC you can not do that because the large number wild animals we have black bear, grizzly bear, and big cats.when I am in the back country I use a 100 yard triangle, tent, cooking, and gear stash I even change in tonight clothes for sleeping taking off any thing I cooked in or ate in. we have one of the largest numbers of black bear, grizzly, and big cats in the world. I am in my late 60's, have never carried a gun, and most times no bear spray, I have been doing this for over 50 years, just don't do dumb things and always pay attention.
great film again and good insight to different tents, ill health is a hill, I climbed it and you climbed it, well done. Why do we all take video's of rivers ? Better than looking at Playstation's all day, but tell that to the kid's ..
Another lovely vid Sandy. I didn’t know you had a G7, I thought you had Canon for reason. Join the club, both me and Austin have the G7 :). Great little camera.
Wiltshire Man Ah cool I got mine just after Christmas so not quite a year yet. I was always a Canon man when I was a Photographer but sold it all off after Mum died, just lost heart. Actually it might have been just before she died it’s all a bit blurry around that time. Have you got the 25mm lens ? If not it’s a real joy and I highly recommend it.
Wiltshire Man When we do finally get together for a camp I’ll let you try the 25mm, I think you’ll like it. I wouldn’t mind trying your big zoom too ;)
I was 50/50 should I venture out this weekend?.....everyone need a little inspiration now and then, and tonight after watching this I am 100% out and about, the trouble is now...... I'm either hammocking or taking my tent and dogs I guess we will have to wait and see, Nice video Sandy regards Matt
Hi Sandy, great vids of your journey. I have recently bought a pair of high length walking boots and my gaiters are not wide enough to to go round round them. I noticed your gaiters and high length boots. Can I ask what make they are and would you recommend them? Many thanks in advance.
Best boots I've ever had are the ones I'm wearing now Mark, they are made by Lowa. I can recommend them, they aren't cheap though. The gaiters however are cheap and if it's wet and cold they will help keep your feet and lower legs warm and dry
Beautiful landscape! Part 2... Wow 🎥. I enjoyed it 👍 😀. Tks for sharing.
Negeri dongeng,.. sungguh indah negeri kalian, terimakasih sudah berbagi..

Glad the camp went well. Everyone stayed warm and dry. You kept your poor Ant safe and out of trouble!
Well done Sandy, such a rugged and beautiful landscape, thanks for taking us along.
Quite an enjoyable video. Loved hearing the rain on the tent, cattle grazing in the valley and food cooking in the pot. Thanks again.
Outstanding video sandy once again I've got to relive my childhood of bygone days. Keep up the good work all the best
Hi Raymond.
Exmoor is a wonderful place. I'm going to Bodmin moor this weekend.
That was a lovely piece of music overlaying the stream Sandy.
Always enjoy your videos Sandy.

Good luck Gary on your walk along the Ridgeway:)
It's the inclement weather that can make or break a trip depending on a persons personality 👍🏻🇬🇧
I spent years teaching army recruits navigation on Exmoor and Dartmoor
Great video Sandy. I'm still wanting to make a QSO with you and get one of your Game knives.
Didn't we have a luverly time, the day we went to Exmoor?

Lovely camp out Sandy & in great company too. Would you recommend your hex peak as a stealth camping tent? All the best Andy
Yes Andy it is a good stealth camping tent but does take a little practice to put up quickly.
Another lovely vid Sandy. I didn’t know you had a G7, I thought you had Canon for reason. Join the club, both me and Austin have the G7 :). Great little camera.
Had the G7 for 18 months or so Damian

Wiltshire Man When we do finally get together for a camp I’ll let you try the 25mm, I think you’ll like it. I wouldn’t mind trying your big zoom too ;)
great hike and camp out looked pretty cool lots of wind and rain were you boys at anyway?
