    Thankyou Richard.
    I am 50 years old now but still feel young! I intend camping for many years to come, so I can get close to nature.
    The woodlands there are very lush indeed.

    Very nice, and pedaling 20 miles into the country each way? Wow. Quite a wonderful way to travel around - just quiet and nice. Looks like you had a bit of rain either overnight, or, on the way home, as the roads looked wet. Keep the videos coming!

    Hi Sandy, Wonderful adventure. What a great way to get out - on your trusty two wheeled steed into the woods. Beautiful place, this Woodpecker woods and being within biking distance is a huge advantage too. : ) Loved your minimal kit too! Isn't it a joy to be able to leave so much behind and still enjoy your time so much? This is one of my favorites! Thanks a bunch for the ride : )

    General health is good but I have a type of brain tumour called "Acoustic neuroma." A benign tumour on the acoustic nerve. Had the first one removed 18 years ago. I tend to mostly ask for permission but as you know, wild camping in the UK is very limited and the land owners don't endorse it. So stealth has to be the way to do this type of camp in this country. You are very fortunate in Vancouver island to have the resources and space.

    It is simply camping in woods or away from recognised camp sites. Often it has to be done discreetly as permission is not always sought and if it was would be refused. There is a golden rule. Pitch late. Strike camp early and leave absolutely no trace you were ever there.

    I was shocked when I read your reply saying that wild camping is outlawed there! I have seen other videos on "stealth camping", but never really thought about what it meant. I just can't imagine not being allowed to camp in the woods! Yours is a proper act of "civil disobedience" if you ask me. I guess some of us just take things for granted sometimes without stopping to think about it... well, you've definitely created a deeper sense of gratitude here my friend... Thank you.

    @saradreaming Hi Sara,
    Those woods are about 10 miles from my home and some steep hills on the way!But I like taking the bike because I can bring it into the woods with me.These woods are open to the public but camping is not allowed.That is the reason I went low profile and setup late!Also you couldn't have a fire there due to the risk of causing a forest fire so I took my Trangia stove instead.
    It's a lovely place.I wish we were allowed to wildcamp legally.Some UK laws are tuff.

    @intenseangler Hi John,
    Yes it was a lovely place.I'm going to go there again you can bet!I wish I did some more video around the camp,but I got there late and left early to avoid being spotted.Camping here is not really allowed.Infact wild camping in England is outlawed..!Some free country eh!But most landowners turn a blind eye..Some don't!
    If caught I would have been asked to leave.I guess they are afraid of litter and forest fires.
    No such risk from me!

    @sticknstonesbrkbones wearing a backpack whilst cycling can be very uncomfortable. Especially when you go over bumps. All the weight is taken through the saddle and groin area as you no doubt now know.
    Rays book is good. This book is more of a survival guide and what is on offer by the season. It doesn't go into depth on wild edibles tho there is some info on that subject.
