Bird feeders are an incredible way to get a close look at birds. There are plenty of bird feeders available to buy, but you can save money by making one from materials lying around your house and garden.

Fantastic! I live in Spain and the only bird feeders available cost about 30 euros each from the garden centre. Now I can make lots of these for the birds nearby, and hope to entice them into my garden more :o)
They cost around 3-4 EUR on Aliexpress (shipping incl.). But yes, it's better to create one! I'll do the same.

Great idea! Best way to recycle drinking bottles. One suggestion, glue a small dish underneath to catch any spillage. Don't forget to drill small holes to let rain water flow.
Good idea!👍

I am going to try this bird feeder. It’s simple and all the materials are just around your house. Thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you, thank you, for this simple but perfect inspiration!
Thanks for this great video! I made a bird feeder from a juice bottle, following your directions, and I'm watching house sparrows, cardinals, and starlings cluster around it right this minute 😄
Thank you for this video, very handy and I loved that it encourages re-using plastic bottles.
Simple, cheap, easy to make and great for the birds. How can 482 "people" give this a thumbs down? Ah, they must be cat owners!
Lol cat owner here looking for a cheap recyclable way to make bird feeders for my cats to watch out the window

Very inexpensive materials shown .Nice video. Can make it at home .Informative and helpful i must say
Another amazing idea of this birds feeder...thanks you for sharing
I made 2 of them today. I used a soldering iron to make the holes though. Also used a dowel rod for the landing area and old but still good shoe laces. Tried using a drill but the bit tore the plastic.
Great idea😊❤
Very good idea thanks
lovely bird feedeer
Simple, Quick and cheap. 🐦
Great tutorial!
This is a great idea! I bought a bird feeder at a store. But within a week, squirrels had damaged it, from them trying to chew it open. If squirrels try to destroy this homemade feeder, no big deal. Just go and build a brand new one.
That's great, it could save you a lot of money on replacing shop-bought feeders!

There are several factors in doing a pro job. One place I found that successfully combines these is the Aviary Magic Method (check it out on google) without a doubt the most incredible info that I have ever seen. look at this unbelievable resource.
Simple and easy thank you
this looks like a squirrel feeder! If you added one of the plastic round tops that sometimes comes on take-away (at least in the US) above the knot, it will give the squirrels a little more of a challenge.
Amazing work
I was assigned to make something useful from a plastic bottle for guiding activity and I was thinking thinking thinking but come up with nothing and was so upset and nearly crying as I have to finish it by tomorrow. This video is superb and now I am happy too.....😊😊
Very nice vidéo, well done and simple to do. Thanks!

This is very good. It helped me to my project at school. New Subcriber!
Thank you I’ve made it now I’m waiting to see 🥺♥️so excited
Great idea
thanks bro
This is very easy to make! I used an old, cheap multi tool knife for most of the cutting. Instead of a drawing pin, I used the tip of the corkscrew, and I used a large knife attachment in a twisting motion to enlarge the holes as needed. Instead of poking the lower dowel into the bottle, I super glued it into the bottom. The dowels were 12 inches long, so I cut them down to 9 inches for the perches and glued the remaining pieces to the bottom parallel to the lower perch. This creates a stable bottom when I want to refill the birdseed and utilizes as much of the lower half of the container as possible.
Good ideas! I'll glue dowels to the bottom for my next feeder.
I made it ...and it worked thank you 👍👍
Yes! This is what was looking for!

I instantly gave a thumbs up before even watching the video because I was merely greatful someone had taken the time to even show me how. And it was simple and easy and a great idea. So to all the thumbs down how about you spend more time trying to be a help to others such as this video and keep your negativity to yourself. Don't you have real disturbing videos to troll?
Amazing! Somebody stole the bird feeder I kept on a tree in the backyard for over a year now. I'm not buying another one this time, I'm going to create one.

Thanks, that's no problem, glad to help!
Wonderful idea!! Love it 😊

How did you keep the seeds from falling out of holes for birds to feed? The seeds are in the bottle higher than the holes. I used empty 40 oz peanut butter containers and made the holes large enough for the birds can go inside to eat.
It works perfectly🍒🍓
Thanku so muchh
i'm making a bird feeder and this video helped me alot
i find that our birds like free standing feeders the best, so i use long steak sticks in the ground and attach my feeders to the top ,old candle holders work great, i always use clear glass inserts for the candle holders small ones because there is less seed wasted and i can find cute glass containers they perch on top and eat away and you can wash them easy with soap and water and then replace them,
thank you
Lovely! Subscribing x
Nice and interesting
I will try it
espectacular es relajante

I'm gonna make some 🤗🤗🤗
Best class project for students you deserve better

Why do we need to make the holes above the perches and how large should they be?
