The reason Suddenlink is so much faster then centurylink is because centurylink was using DSL and Suddenlink is cable.

DSL doesn't support boosting, meaning that further away from the ISP, the slower the speeds.
Centurylink uses century old connection methods suddenlink uses sudden connection methods

I hate CenturyLink so much, but it's basically the only ISP in my area. Or at least that I know of. My least favorite thing about it is that in the middle of the day, the Internet just goes out, even though the lights on the modem are all green. 😒

I have to deal with 1MBPS every freaking day of my life. It takes over 2 to 4 hours just to download 1gb file. If a video takes a long time to upload, get a program called handbrake, it makes it smaller without a major loss in quality.

The reason it's called centurylink, it was made in Seattle (it has a field called centurylink), and because it takes a century. EDIT: I was uploading a 1 GB file and we don't have centurylink and it's taking 1 hour.

well, there was one time our performance spiked downward for a week.
And I occasionally still get really bad lag when playing TF2.
but my upload speeds for example are fast enough that uploading a YT vid to yt at 720p that's a half hour long only takes me seconds.

I've always thought the name 'Centurylink' is a stupid name for a telecoms company. On top of that, their service is awful.
Here in my country we only have one internet service provider, meaning that if your internet speed is slow you'll have to deal with it. Also, no matter how expensive your internet plan is, the speed will be pretty much the same.

to set everything up quickly (i know this is an old video) you can just go to the suddenlink admin panel and change the name of the network and password of the network to the same as the centurylink.
