2nd Cutting Hay For Horses **Tough Weather Conditions**

It's time to make 2nd cutting hay for horses....but this time around we've got some tough weather conditions! 2nd cutting hay is some of the nicest stuff for horses, and is much softer than first cutting. So ideally, we would want this stuff to be the nicest it can...but lots of rain and hazy skies made it very difficult to get this thick crop of 2nd cutting hay dry!

We'e in Vermont..having the same issues with wet wet wet. Tires are always wet....wicking under windrows is an issue. We're still trying to finish 1st cut here. Tedd tedd tedd. Althoughwe have a side delivery rake, we only use it as a back up. gyro rake works well, except it won't turn hay over 180 like the ol' school way. Gonna be a long winter. Best wishes!!
