Coming from a bike rider that has done the cape dozens of times, great show. 2026 is my next trip there. To up date with the second plane wreck... (ford bomber) it was sitting at the air strip when Japanese zeros flew in and strap the airport with their machine guns damaging the plane beyond repair. After removing usable parts from the plane they place the wreckage out where it sits now. PS... half way along the dumped fuel drums there is a cock pit of a kitty hawk. Half way between the airport and the east coast is another kitty hawk plane wreck in mangrove swomp area surrounded by land mines still today. (Restricked area)
This was an awesome series. 👍
I miss your videos. You always bring a positive attitude toward life and riding.
Brill vids i was hooked from start to finsh . No house work done for two days had to watch all episode"s, wife not amused , 😆😆
hahahah im stoked you liked them mate. Thanks for coming along on the ride. Hope the wife has cooled off... lol
Just watched this and loved it. Brought back memories as I did it solo on my DRZ400 a few years back. You made the right choice. Hardest track I ever did - lost gear, injured myself, nearly ran out of water - but I made it after two days. Not bad for a 60yo unfit fool. Strongly recommend don’t do this one alone…
Spewing! really really spewing this is over! Thanks for having all of us tag along. I bet you can make a spin down to the shops for some eggs a crack'n ride... seriously give it a go we will love it. Thanks Craig really awesome stuff mate can't wait for more.
hahahaha not sure about the egg run vid, maybe I should give it a crack.
Thanks for watching mate and I appreciate your comments.
As a South African, we all know the riivarly we have has two countries when it comes to Rugby, but you Aussies are seriously super individual human beings and I have had the pleasure of meeting a few in Thailand and the Philippines, so I know, I have seriously enjoyed this series and its presentation is excellent, I can only hope that you, your familily and friends stay safe and that you continue to enjoy life and the dirt trails of Australia, on your motorcycles, may your freedom to do what you do continue to entertain us for years to come.
Hey Jacko, thanks heaps for the comment mate. I love the relationship our two awesome countries have and one day I would kill to get over to yours and adventure. I hope things have settled down in SA and you are safe enjoying life. Good on you mate and have a good one.

Thanks for watching and hope you are well.
Mate I just watched this series again - and enjoyed it as much second time. Seriously considering a trip to Cape York but from Adelaide it’s a big trip. I fear the countless river crossing might be beyond me, but I wouldn’t want to just stick to the PDR. Is there any middle ground?
Thanks again for sharing.
great stuff mate. i did the cape the first time in 1985 when i was almost 20 years old in my then hilux from brisbane. i still have a hilux, my third one. it was a real adventure then. fuel only at bamaga or weipa, through all the rivers and creeks there was no bridge over the wenlock river and there was a one car ferry across the jardine. there wasnt even a causeway across the bloomfield river near wajul wajul. gunshot creek and nolans brook wasnt as bad then. i then did the cape supported by a vehicle on my ktm 300 with a group of friends in 2009 from cairns. im in brisbane. we went the back way, up n down the creb track, the bloomfield track, frenchmans track across the pascoe river, did the beaches at the tip. then back to cairns to the trailer and back home. your videos make me want to go again. ive been from birdsville to alice and back through the birdsville inside track, the hay river, and back along the waa, french line etc. this trip i did on my own on the ktm 300 again being followed by a vehicle. i was going on a canning stock route adventure last year but the covid sorted that out. this year the canning dates didnt suit me so im hoping to go next year dates permitting. im going on a tour hiring a bike etc. its hard to find a support vehicle for the canning trip, so ill join daryl beattie adventures dates permitting next year, before i get to old i have to do this track on a bike. ive been along the canning and anne beadell on an adventure and back through the simpson, in my hilux in 2018 from brisbane. our aim was to go as much dirt and the roughest tracks we could find. i did 14500kms, 9000kms on dirt, sand etc, spent $4500 on fuel (v6hilux) and $3.40 was the most per liter in the middle of the WA desert. that fuel stop cost $700, i wouldnt want one cent back. there were two blokes and two cars on that trip. like you i had my cousin in his car and me in mine, what a trip. we plan to do the canning in our cars again in the other direction in 2023. i havnt seen any videos from you in the victorian high country. what a place that is ive been there many times mostly on my own, again its hard to find people to join me so i just go anyway. i take my camper down there and my ktm 500 and stay in the bush on the river and after two weeks ive had enough so come home. great place.
keep up the good work cheers jimmi wallis brisbane
Hey Jimmi, thanks for the comment mate. Sounds like youve had plenty of super adventures. The old Hilux must be a ripper of a truck.
We have spoken about doing the Vic high country ride. Maybe some time soon hey.
Anyway, thanks heaps for watching and hope all is well in Brissy, cheers.
Enjoyed the whole series...cracking vids and commentary...Aus seems like a awesome place for riding...keep em coming as soon as the lockdowns ease up...👍from Kenya

Great series

This is by far the best adventure riding video I have seen so far. Well documented and commented and I really had the feeling I was there with you boys! This is the standard all adventure riding videos will be measured by and you ought to be proud of your cohesiveness, cameraderie and mutual help attitude, which also made it nice and heartwarming to watch! Please do more of these and good luck with your riding! It would be nice to see a wrap up of the bikes, equipment, etc that you liked and also what you were not so happy with!
Thanks again mate, I really appreciate your comments. I hope to find the time to do a wrap up vid. Cheers again.
great series. thank you.
You are welcome mate and thanks for watching.

Just cannot explain how stoked I was to turn on UA-cam and see a new drop!! Just got back home from a second rip on my DR650 today, my wife called and had to just spill the beans on what an amazing day it was to go out for two amazing short rides. I been stressed out lately and man it just sorts itself out on the bike. Poured myself a “jimmy” …. Well a vodka OJ anyways lol turned on the tube to chill for an hour and was blessed to see this post! I agree with everything motorbikes_camping_4wd’s posted. Amazing, thanks and the stoke is high! Have a good one eh!
