- Berth 9 on the Daiwan Dolphin, Loading Logs, using the ships cranes. Had a good night here, straight forward with no real problems. Barry in the digger doing his thing.
Managed to finish early which was nice, back tomorrow but up at Berth 1 for Kiwi Fruit.

Thanks again see you all on the next one.
That’s something you don’t see everyday. So cool. Thanks for sharing it
Thanks Dusty check out the others. 🤙
Cool vid. The teamwork between crane and digger driver, stacking those logs in like sardines
🤣😂 Thats one way of putting it, but yes it has to be a team work operation, up to 35 tonnes comming in at any one time. Comunication is a must. Thanks for the comment
very cool video !!!! thanks for the video dai !!!
Thanks for comment 🤙
Nice video.
Thank you 😜🤙
Nice 👍👍
Thank you 🤙
That's my Ship... Daiwan Dolphin.. ❤️
Brilliant was you on it when I was loading ? Are you coming back ?? Till your crew to watch and subscribe 😜👌
Very nice video. Any idea what the final destination of the cargo is and what's to be done with all that wood when it gets there?
I believe it was China and have no idea what they do with it sorry. Probably make pre packed housing frames and send them back for us to buy 😂
у трактора голова кругом😍
I don’t understand but thanks 😂🤙
Hi there, what do you call the blue and green colored attachment you use on the hook block?
Its called the Crangston, hard wearing and reliable
@@daibach999 thanks for your reply, does it have another name? I goggled "crangston" but only bryan cranston came up
I will have to ask myself as that’s all we know them as. Give me some time to get back to you 🤙
hello. what kind of wood is this... and where do they shipped it to.?
Hi well it’s all types of wood all grades and they head to China and India mainly
Pinus Radiata
Nice video, interesting to see the machinery operated like that. the shame is that CANNOT BE SUISTAINABLE.
Thank you and this has been happening for many many years here in NZ and it’s sustainable and working 🤙
Is it the shore crews that operate the ships cranes?.
Yes our stevedores operate all the cranes ships and mobile 🤙
Few tonne of logs on there now
I believe we put on 38,000 tonnes of logs
Is this method faster than using the grapples?
All depends, it’s a much safer way with less staff around you. If we all work as a team then about the same
Dai matthews,,,,,,,I knew,you be the Liebheerr 550 operator now?in ISO limited,correct?
Yes Roger that permi Night shift worker. Busy times 🤙
Do you prefer the claw or the cables
Claw heaps better and safer. It’s all about reducing the staff on the ground thou at the end of the day
I'M crane operator in Rio Grande port- Brazil. I do the same job.
Hello from New Zealand hope you are well thanks for comment. Are you busy ? I had someone contact me asking about our new grabs from your port 🤙
@@daibach999
Hello Daí, how you today? Sorry about my english.
Today I will work in celulose operation loading, with overhead crane ship.
@@alexandredias3411 hello and good to here from you, overhead cranes cool I’ve not had the pleasure of operating them yet. I have the night off after loading a ship with Kiei Fruit 😜
Amazing! How do they unload it at the destination?
I believe the unloading is done by a bunk being dropped onboard and loaded by a digger then lifted by the crane to the wharf then onto trucks. I’ve also seen ship cranes with a big heavy grab digging logs off and dropping on the wharf
Hey mate I’m a bush operator and have been offered a job with ISO, what are the pay rates and shifts like?
Jordan find me on FB Dai Matt and Pm me 🤙
New Zealand will be cleared of their trees in no time. Way to go!
This has been going on now for so many years and does not affect our tree population. The trees for export are specially grown 🤙
Wonder she floats lol where do these end up going to the 🇺🇸 I'm from crown point N.Y
Hi Brad and a Merry Xmas to you from NZ. They will be going to China or India normally. Thanks for watching
You would think a claw ( grapple ) would be a lot quicker and safer
Quicker and safer then what ? Do you mean the wires ??
Hello, can you give me the name of the lifting maneuver, greetings from Chile
Not sure what you mean by lifting manoeuvre ?
@@daibach999 the automatic hook you use (strobes)
@@robertovargas297 ok yes these are what’s called Crangstons made and designed by a company here in NZ. Drop the plunger down which releases the wires.
@@daibach999 Last question, hahaha, what is the company that designs them? his name you know
@@robertovargas297 🤪 ok the company name is Page Macrae Engineering. Hope that helps, 🤙
hello alright, I would like to know who makes the steel cable device, I only know the manufacturer and New Zealand.
If you can get a website or email I appreciate your help
Congratulations from the south of Brazil

How many millions of tons does one of those ships hold?
And how many million mbf
Anything from 36,000 to 44,000 tonnes on a ship. 48,000 tops I think on certain ships. All the trees are re planted and all are sustained .
Oh im not complaining about the trees being cut lol happens to be my profession lol i was just curious as to how much they holds
Are they all debarked before shipping?
Yes we have a debarker on site to.
Very high volume music:(
It’s all new to me this I will keep that in mind for future videos thanks 🤙
Hippies hate this 😂
🥴
What's their destination?
Mostly China I think also India.
hey m8 who sings this song?
You wouldn’t want to here me sing any song 😂🤣
Jus wana know who th artist is that performs the background music in your video??
To be perfectly honest I have no idea sorry 😳
Hi
Hi 👍
It was looking frickin beautiful until you decided to hide your athwartships... blatantly too
ISO for life😂😂😂 especially with Paul Cameron in charge🖕🖕🖕
Good video though bro😂
Nice bent hand rails too 😂😂😂😂
@@massiveas276 Thanks
you obviously know nothing about loading logs.
You ruined a good documentary with awful racket in the background. Thank goodness for a volume button!! Dislike. Delete.
Acceptable comment but it’s an easy fix if the background sounds are not to your taste. As you say turn the volume down and use what suits your taste. Can’t please everyone now can I 😂
