I have no idea what it is like being on the other side of the camera, but you make me feel like I am a friend of yours. I too have my own business and work alone. It is nice to have someone to share with occasionally. Many of my customers ( they are all business owners) like to confide in me when I am at their business, because unless your confidant knows what it is like to run a business then cannot relate to the issues you have.

Haven't scrapped in quite a few years. Had a neighbor move out from down the road from me and he told me I could grab whatever was left. Part of that was a bunch of irony extrusion, which I had my daughter help me with. Took less than 1/2 hr to load and brought it to scrap yard today. Funny, they actually remembered me. Anyway, I ended up having 740lbs of it and got, in US dollars (I'm in Canada), $563. My daughter thinks I need to get back to scrapping again. I was actually quite pleased with what I got. Now to get all this copper cleaned. I understand better your need to crush everything right now. These prices are crazy and yes, I did have an absolutely, fantastic day! Cheers!

Used to do that at the auto wreckers here in Oz. We would get a holden straight 6 wire the throttle wide open and let it run, 14 min then number 6 rod let go and blew the starter right off the block. 😃😃. Great vid Silas. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍

Hi Silas, on that model of Jaguar always check for the factory tool kit. Is in its own case slotted into a special shelf in the boot right under the rear screen, mostly they’re always gone, but only takes a second to check & I’ve met a few owners who never knew they owned one even after owning the car for years!

I have a scrap yard less than ten minutes away I will not deal with because they adjusted their scales while I was on them. I think it has been eight years since I took anything to them because they ripped me off. Instead I take almost everything to another yard about thirty minutes away because they are honest and treat me good.

I'm in the process of doing a 4.3L/5 Speed Swap on it right now tho, I pulled the Original 2.8L/Auto out of it bc I felt like the 2.8L wouldn't have enough balls for going Off-Roading 🤔🤷

I know that you figure everything from fuel to snacks to see where the money is. I look at those penalties you mentioned and think of the cost they fined you making a wait still profitable if their so quick to penalize you... and yes, they are bigger than you so your really not a bargaining power unless you get a good percentage of others to quit as well. I do understand crushing rigs quite well as I have come to understand its location location location when it comes to selling pieces and parts. When I was a young fellow, I got ahold of a jag for just pieces and parts... used the disk brake rear and front disk five lug system on a old truck that I had repowered. Just having the live axle with disk brakes made it quite valuable..... yep, one guy out of ten thousand coming around for stuff... just how long can you wait for all that chances. Look at those old wrecking yards that the cars are totally overgrown in trees and briars... not many will venture into that for a strip of stainless... those rigs should be crushed... then if you do run into something real nice, simple to pull it out
