Sometimes the titles concern me. I went to school for my RMA...also have my CNA but get paid as a LPN and compared to LPN they're equivalent to CNAS with med tech certificates, and only RNS are considered "true nurses" well atleast in Florida. Hi! I just got hired as a PCT at a dialysis center I’m nervous because the job description that was on the application is totally different from all of these videos I’m watching on UA-cam. As a PCT do you have to use needles on the patient ? Like IV or blood work? Or is it kind of like CNA work ?

Yes definitely. It will help you be comfortable with the patients here in America. Try mo mag work as a pct para may patient care experience ka dito. Pwede ka din mag try sa hospital as pct
Hello Ate Rachelle just saw your vlog, ok lang magtanong if ano company mo dati as pct like sa Satellite or Davita? planning to apply din, but my concern is work schedule too whenever I get started and life of a student tho :)
The company i work for didnt require dialysis school. They can help get your CCHT. However I did have a phlebotomy certification which i believe helped me getting hired. Its not hard, the work comes with time and lots of practice. I now work per diem as a dialysis tech and switched to being a cna at my local hospital which I’ve been loving. Dialysis becomes easier everyday on the job and it’s fun seeing the same patients because you end up building a relationship with them.

People are watching this to learn what a WORK day is like for a dialysis tech. Not just the charting and lab collection stuff. Yeah I want chicken fingers for lunch too- but who cares? Not helpful, or informative. How do you prep your chairs and machines? How much time do you get with each patient? For example - are you expected to get your pt in the chair, cannulated and hooked up in 15 min? Do you think that's fair? How many pt's do you have at once? Usually it's 4 but I've heard 6. You don't have to name your employer, but do you think the pay is fair? These are just some questions I have, but I'm sure others want to know too. I was just looking for a video with some substance.
