I'm a daughter of a Marine. And I spent my first 6 years camp Pendleton my dad was a drill instructor. That was a long time ago but the Marines are special to my heart. And my granddaughter is married to a Marine, Camp Pendleton and they have two little baby boys. You have a done a great job mom💞cuz Marines don't except everyone that applies to become a Marines for the United States of America 🕊️🇺🇸

When I was growing up, we would never miss CBS Sunday Morning after church. Fast forward to me at 32 and I don’t watch every Sunday morning but I never miss the on the road clip on UA-cam and I never make it through 1 without crying. Thank you Steve. Amazing these stories don’t make it on every network every week

I loved this story. I can hardly wait to show this to my 95 yr old aunt the next time I go to her house. Her husband, my uncle, was in the Marines and then went to the Navy. They were married 71 years. His memorial service was this past Monday and it was a very touching Military service done by 2 Navy officers. It was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes as I could definitely see my Uncle Joe going to the rescue with these Marines to help someone in distress. Beautiful story.

As a medically retired volunteer firefighter/EMT-P, who despite not currently in the firefighting service, I keep my certifications up to date and without reimbursement because at the end of the day, we MUST rely on each other because if we don't help each other, we fail one another.

I understand the courage these men have and at the same time enjoy their sense of humor. The lady could have just opened the door and walked away after once that small car drove past her, 🤣.
Nonetheless, you can always count on the Marines!
Leave no man (or woman) behind. Words indeed for ALL of us to live by - not just a Marine or military motto and mission. As the one Marine said quite well, this is what humanity's life purpose is. Sad that in our culture these events are so rare that they are celebrated. Again, as these Marines model in their actions, it is not for recognition or honor or glory that they leave no-one behind thus it does not and should not matter their names nor any badges on their chests. Life lessons to live by...

Well as stated in the story, Ms. Virginia was caught off guard. I can give you many examples of said instinces because I am a medically retired volunteer firefighter. Emergency situations DO NOT FOLLOW A SCHEDULE
I wasn’t shocked by this story at all. When I was in the Marine Corps, I personally witnessed this type of act numerous times, unfortunately phones weren’t there to video and prove it. Semper Fi Devil Dogs.

Maybe I'm wrong but looked like she drove through the water. I guess she did not learn never drive through water cause you don't how deep it will be.
Re watch the segment. The weather forecast was 100% wrong. Plus she didn't see the flooded roadway meaning no matter how hard she hit the brakes, the vehicle would not have stopped in time because the speed limit on the ramp is 55mph. Now factor in the wet roads, that adds to the stopping distance
Did they drive all the way to the church or does she live in one? Is that her church or did the reporter pick it out?

@@edstevens6839 i hear ya. I guess I would just kinda determine the height of the water by the height of the car/tires, landmarks and the officer's legs as he was approaching... I'm not making fun of the woman or anyone else. I've just always been the type of person that doesn't panic easily. But yes I understand that many people do.
The water was 18" deep......appreciate the marines but why didn't she get out and wade to safety
she was trapped in her car and her car could not move. and the pressure around the car probably made it hard to open the car from the inside. Also she was most likely in shock. Don't judge her.

Honestly, as a medically retired volunteer firefighter EMT, I can give you hundreds of thousands of instances of things (that I assisted in the Rescue of) that could have been fatal. Don't assume, what we need is sharing tips and tricks with each other, because we all can learn from each other
