Some negative reviews may stem from fans who aren’t accustomed to the multicultural dynamic presented in “Mr. and Smith.” The series, however, excels in its intricate plot, nuanced performances by Donald Glover and Maya Erksine, and the chemistry that adds depth to the storyline. Surpassing the movie in complexity and entertainment value, the series keeps viewers on the edge with well-executed plot twists and top-notch production quality. As a fan of the movie, I appreciated the series’ depth, urging reviewers to complete all episodes before rating. The narrative builds up to a compelling climax, showcasing Donald Glover’s exceptional talent alongside Maya Erksine, who brings a refreshing focus on a multicultural couple. In summary, “Mr. and Smith” is a must-watch series that exceeds expectations in storytelling and character development.

They HAVE to make a season 2! They were talking about having children and moving to the mountains! 😢

Love this new series. Love how it is slow build and takes its time to create the universe and characters and their uniqueness and eccentricities. Love the chemistry and intensity and interaction between the leads John (Glover) and Jane (Erskine). Their play with each other as well as the way they slowly and gradually disclose aspects of their true lives as they go along. The writing and the storyline and the marriage counselor (Sarah Paulson), plus other characters (Dano and Turturro shine!) truly makes this one of those shows that will become guilty pleasures. It is really cool to see shows that takes its time and makes the characters and writing the highlight! Totally recommend it!

Wickedly funny, fabulous location in the US, Europe (so far I am on esp. 5). Many famous stars are in it, every single one is amazing in their respective role. Both Mr and Mrs Smith are magical and has soul (even when they are supposed to be soulless gun for hire). The twist at the very beginning is priceless. Pay attention.

I didn't know what to expect but the cast was stellar and I thought that was a good sign and I wasn't disappointed. The chemistry between Maya and Donald is amazing. Each episode is so different and fun, it's like we're all on this wild high stakes adventure with them. Yet we're not because regardless of what's going on, central to it all is Jane(Maya) and John's(Donald) developing relationship and how they navigate being in love with each other. CAN"T WAIT FOR SEASON 2, because I need to know what happened!!!!!!!!!!!

The action sequences were fine to me. They were grounded and realistic. The action seemed precisely how it was intended as the action was definitely not the point of this show.

I think the message to Jane "Terminate! Take out your Smith." could be interpreted differently to take the show in a different direction. Bev learned quite a bit about The Smiths and was supposedly from a rival corporation. Perhaps the company the Smiths work for has been compromised? Or perhaps it was part of the play all along. The other Smiths suggest that the Supe knows what they are going to do before they do it. Perhaps the message to Jane is simply another test, that Jane and John Smith would each need to take out their duplicate Jane and John. John takes out John and I'm assuming Jane takes out Jane, completing their mission successfully and keeping them in the company's employ to take out the company that Bev works for or maybe they join Bev's company to take out the one that put their lives at risk. There's also the fact of children and being parents in their line of work to spice things up. I think there's still quite a bit of road left for the show. They've only just now gotten into a "true" marriage so there's thousands of years of comedic marriage turmoil to build upon.

One of the best series I’ve seen! I am a lover of the James Bond, Jason Bourne type stuff and this was as entertaining as those classics. My only hope now is that the writers don’t become lazy and “Peter out” after only one season! There is so much potential here, so much more story telling to get out of these actors! If you are a producer, director, actor connected to this project, please LISTEN; you have a gold mine here! Don’t screw it up and become scared of success like some other shows that thought they had to cut it short so they could end on top (Breaking Bad). Please keep writing and putting this great product out there for us to be entertained and have some fun in this messed up world!

One thing that upsets me about some of the reviews is the comparison to the movie with Jolie and Pitt. If there's more than one Mr and Mrs Smith of course they will be different as individuals and a couple as well as their life together. Like the other Smiths they meet. Also, I don't like how some mention that because they are on the shorter side they aren't good characters for their job. Reminds me of The Last of Us series people complaining about Melanie Lynskey being the leader of the revolutionary in Kansas City because she's a thick woman, as if smarts/brains aren't even more important to being a leader.
Most movies, even the tallest, good looking, brawny actors have stunt men doing the fight scenes. So sad TV has some of us trained to think for someone to be able to do a certain thing they have to look a certain way.
Also reminds me of how critical some were of The Creator at first like something bring different from the norm is a bad thing.

I don't see how. Not unless its serialized, then it just becomes redundant with the same story every season

The arguments that some of the plot details and missing mission info are legit. You absolutely have to suspend reality to enjoy this show. [Yes they were the delivery peeps. Yes they were the last ones seen with him. Yes it's unrealistic where they dumped that body] etc. But I thought it was well-done overall and I think it's important for 'smarter' action shows to have a place at the table here.

After that ending I've been on a heavy dose of copium. I really felt betrayed... but maybe those gunshots were from Bev because she hasn't had enough of her "fun" toying with them yet. Ugh... I got way too invested. There's going to be a season 2. Donald, why would you do this to me? It's going to be okay... it's going to be okay. Time to watch Atlanta. Lol

I suggest you watch Mr & Mrs Smith it in a non-linear order. The plot is too simple to be linear. Try this sequence:
    > **Episode 6**: tone and conflict.
    > **Episodes 1-3**: backstory and contrast.
    > **Episode 7**: climax and choice.
    > **Episodes 4 and 8**: resolution and epilogue.
    > Skip **Episode 5**: boring and irrelevant.
Did you like it? Any feedback?

This series was absolutely horrible and had no chemistry of their characters through out the series. Donald monotone voice was annoying. In the series he is supposedly a hitman turn spy but only has $312 in his bank account and picked up this job for more money and had to pass a life style interview. His costar also has to do a life style interview and they randomly meet up at the safe house who have no idea what’s going on. They find an envelope and learn they have to play house husband and wife. Donald hits on her horribly for a good 10 mins. That leads no where. They’re suppose to be spies that are good at their job but actually do it horribly. They mostly try to learn about one another while keeping boundaries. Episode one was hard to get through as they try to force something that wasn’t romance, comedy, action or any connections. I wonder if these are the same people that made White Men Can’t Jump Remake. ( Another horrible movie)
