As a mom who bakes very thing from sourdough bread and bagels to English muffins and sourdough pancakes, I found this to be a fun video. If I can do it, so can you! The narrator kind of makes it sound more complicated than it really is. After a few tries and once you understand what the process is, you’ll make amazing, yummy little masterpieces. It’s definitely worth it.
I worked in a bakery for 2 years and it doesn't really take long to get used to smell of yeast, I always like to push people to bake their own bread at home at least once :)
After this video there´s nothing more that I need to know about yeast. Its basically a piece of the whole truth inside a youtube video. God bless your yeastes wisdom.
I made pizza dough, yeast flour water. I want to double the recipe now. Can I just add a 2nd portion of the flour and water? Or do I need to add a 2nd portion of yeast as well?
You can add another portion of yeast if you wish. Or you can let the dough rise overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor. A small amount of yeast will make a lot of dough.
Price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. I repeat: price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. That's Vagiclean. We've got a customer down here with a full-on fallopian fungus. She's baking a loaf of bread and I think it's sourdough.
Some commercial cane sugar in the states is filtered through charcoal made of cow (and other animal) bones. Although no bone particles enter the final sugar, some people don't consider the end product to be vegan, due to the use of animal products.
Yeast is not vegan fungi isn’t a plant neither is it a animal but it’s in its own category of itself. Fungi eat dead things for nutrition. There are good food that are made of cells that are good to eat like fruits- also a little vegetables, then there are bad food with a cells like meat and fungi. I wouldn’t recommend eating it and now this day I won’t myself glad I searched this up.
title "Here's Everything You Need To Know About Yeast" thousands of people who are way smarter than your Mashed staff have already covered this, it's not rocket science
Yes, it can, I have been baking for 14 years and use yeast all the time. Yeast is a fermenter and the main ingredient in creating ethanol from sugars. But, yeast can also take alcohol and break it down into different chemicals after a little while.

So there was a question in a dough group on FB , is yeast vegan.... If there's sugar used in the process does that mean it's not vegan??
Sugar isn't an animal product lmao, how is that not vegan
