Man, that bassline is fucking sick.
Right? I was thinking the same.
+skaterdude10107 This song is probably one of my favorites by Nirvana because of the bassline. I can also really relate to the lyrics.
+whatsupbato This one is one my favorites too. Haha. Heard it in the first Skate game? Maybe Skate 2? I think I just like how he sings it.
+skaterdude10107 it is in skate 1. when i first heard it
ufff its the best
One of the most satisfying chord progressions in Nirvana's entire catalog. It's so effortlessly catchy.
Indeed
It's really the bass that ties everything together
@@edafryes but that’s nothing without Kurt’s guitar part too
Every Nirvana song is one of my favourite Nirvana songs.
All songs are masterpieces
Even moist vagina? (I like it I just want thought on it)
You know you're right.
@@raffaelepetitta31 I love this Song.
same I don’t understand how people can pick
Krist Novelselick's bass lines go largely unnoticed by most people, but the reality is that most of their songs wouldn't be as dope without them 👍
About every bands songs wouldn't be as dope without the bassist but yet bassist never get any of the credit
@@tristencoon8198 I agree, the basissts get no glory unless you're Flea, etc , however we must admit that there are indeed many metal songs especially with boring basslines
If you haven’t yet, check out the isolated bass track. The verse is especially cool

Most underrated nirvana song of all time
yes, song from nevermind with 5kk views. sure.
@@dominikmichalik4989 now is 6 million views
Honestly I think “dumb” is the most underrated nirvana song of all time.
boom2nuke_ YT Frances Farmer is by far the most underrated
@@dominikmichalik4989 just because it has a lot of views doesnt mean overrated.
Novoselic's bass playing is what makes this song.
i think that's why it starts this song off, aside for kurdts uhhhhhhhhhhhh, that is. I think its one one the most heartfelt lyrics on the album though
***** this is my favorite NIRVANA song!
It's ok to like the bass, it's great, but the song has other great layers. It's not just about the bass.
With kurts voice
nirvana was just a great mix of perfection
This is seriously Nirvana's best song
yes yes yes
me too
I 100000000 agree!!!!!!!!!
It took me close to twenty years to realize that.
Nah. I grew up to them and I'd disagree with that. One of their most influential though. Although it's all opinion anyone on what's best.
„Lounge Act“ and „Drain You“ are the best Nirvana songs imo
100✨
I thought it was just me that thought this..
Mtv version of Drain you is epic..
On a plain, very ape, serve the servants? Imo lounge act is the best
You're wrong but also right
-Kurdt Cobalt probably
Same but I like about a girl too so it goes: about a girl, lounge act, then drain you
This song is way better than Teen spirit.
True.
+Unko Toire As is Drain You, and In Bloom, and On A Plain, and Rape Me, and All Apologies, and About a Girl et al
most of nevermind is better than teen spirit. but get older and dont listen to it for awhile and it's still a good song.
chadgrov Agreed
+chadgrov They're all good songs. I could listen to them all day. But this is a really good songs, one of my top favorites. My two main favorites are Lithium and Drain You though.
Such an underrated song. This song would've been a huge hit if they would've released it as single with video. Definitely a top 5 Nirvana song. Top 5 period!!
+Stephen hem you´re completely right man. The lack of a video made this song less popular than the others.
Rocketbell Thanks. I actually believe there are several songs that could've been huge hits. Sappy and Big Long Now are just a couple that come to mind. Drain You is also very underrated.
+Stephen hem Definitely one of my favorite !
+Stephen hem This song is about his ex, who was a total bitch with him, I don't think he ever wanted this song to became a huge hit
JoshCB Are you talking about Tracy? I know he wrote About a Girl about her. But she, from all I've ever read was really good to him.
His voice cuts like a knife. Seeing them mtv unplugged live on tv was incredible. Playing hard then playing acoustic shows how talented they were.
Paper cuts))) in the first listening, I didn't expect the scream, so it's really cuts suddenl like a paper in some way
The bass, the drumming, and even just the lyrics are beautiful. RIP Kurt. Gone but not forgotten.
Tears as I watch this - I was there....
how i wish i was u! bet its a memory that lasts forever!
How amazing!
man you're like the luckiest man i've ever met:O good for you, i wasn't even born when he died...
Pinkman Jesse me neither
lucky son of a bitch ur so lucky wish i was alive to see them
that bass line is so damn groovy !
Andy Gonzalez No one uses Groovy anymore but Ok
Awesome bass line
Almost sounds like a Lounge song...
Krist says is an homenaje to send me a postal.
Krist did a good job
I just can't believe they didn't make a video for this song. This song supposed to be a massive hit. I don't know how Kurt could sing it that way. It was just unbelievable!
mantap bro komennya wkwk
@@Sliver90 tengkyu brow hehehe
Some of their greatest songs didn’t have an official music video
This song didn't go anywhere because Courtney wouldn't allow it. It's about another girl.
@@geejay9398 Wow, I just knew that
lounge act is so underrated, been on repeat for over 2 years now, cant get sick off the bassline
One of the best tracks off of Nevermind!!!!
Agreed
*****
true, you mean in general yh?
its like that for me with nearly every nirvana song, its not like that at all with other bands
In my opinion it is THE best track, but thenagain it is a matter of taste..
It's the best track of Nevermind!
Songs such as this make it impossible for me to decide what nirvana song is my favorite...
same, all of Kurt's songs are my favorite tbh. 😂
+Courtney Zeigler His music is almost as old as me and I can't get enough of it.
+Matty Lockman I'm only 13 and I can listen to Nirvana for hours. 😂
+Courtney Zeigler You give me hope in younger generations :,) people always look at me like nirvanas so old get over it and I'm just jfnrjsjsbs stfu 😑
+Matty Lockman People think I'm to preppy to like such a 'suicidal' and I'm like, ':) Nirvana isn't a suicidal band, if you watch. 'soaked in bleach' you would hear that Kurt wasn't suicidal.' then they laugh at me. music today is trash honestly, Nirvana, Sublime, RHCP, Dirty heads, and Greenday are the shit. 😂
The half step down tuning instead of standard is so much darker sounding. Such a great song.
I wish the album version sounded this fucking good lol
You can here how influential this song was to the 90's... the chord progression, the simplicity, the hard and soft moments, and yet this song also goes completely under the radar by average listeners. You hear its influence on run around by blues traveler and all for you by Sister hazel, and other pop songs of the 90s
Interesting
Facts. This song had a HUGE influence on bands to come
Which all was Nirvana listening to The Smithreens during the recording and writing of Nevermind
If it's underrated how can it influence so many people. Your list of what makes this song great can be applied to any nirvana hit
I can't get bored to that voice man... Just pure endorphins machine to me
We can share our endorphins
Imagine how it sounds to us ladies lol

The way he stressed the word security is amazing to me idk why haha

This is one of the most overlooked songs in Nevermind - it's a perfect album so it's hard for every song to gain the spotlight. But it's a favourite of mine!
Definitely in the top 5 of my all time favourite Nirvana songs.
The bass line is just amazing
it truly is
I think this may be the only Nirvana song where the bassline leads the song
Hairspray Queen or Love Buzz, man.
It is just amazing.

I'll arrest myself
And wear a shield
I'll go out of my way
To prove I still
Smell her on you
Don't, tell me what I wanna hear
Afraid of never knowning fear
Experience anything you need
I'll keep fighting jealousy
Until it's fucking gone
And I've got this friend, you see
Who makes me feel
And I wanted more

Easily one of Nirvana's most underrated songs.
Nirvana had so many great Songs, but this one is really underrated. Maybe the best!!
ah yes... because nothing says "underrated" like a video with almost 10 million views...
@@jawknee4088 great then.. it was only 50k views last 5 year which mean nirvana blow up because of quarintine :)
@@miqael1249 really? in terms of view count, it was probably still in the hundreds of thousands, maybe in the millions. especially since it was from the official nirvana channel
also Nirvana did not blow up because of quarantine. they blew up decades ago and have remained incredibly popular since. not just in the last three years
@@jawknee4088 do you know how yt view system work? Even if you watch this vid 1 million time repeatedly in 1 acc it still counted as 1m view.. still underrated song in nevermind.. mostly people know nirvana rn is from quarintine which is good they know these masterpiece :)
@@jawknee4088 Just because a video only has 10 million views and another one, like for example "Gangnam Style", has a billion views, doesn't necessarily mean Gangnam style is better than this one--- it's just like how a pop song can be garbage but the dumb downed masses go crazy for it because they can dance to it and there's a simple catchy beat.
But all of this is subjective, of course. People like what they like.
I was there in 1991 when hardly anyone watched them and then in 1992 when everyone watched them and people had cardboard guitars which were flying everywhere. Time just flies by. They were cracking.
LOVE this song! The emotion in which Kurt delivered his lyrics was second to none. Really makes you feel it. Thank you for that gift Kurt🙏
My favorite Nirvana song of all time. ❤️❤️❤️
What I love about Nirvana compared to most other famous Grunge bands is the fact that songs like this make their music seem like a Punk-Grunge hybrid, which is really enjoyable IMO.
Well Nirvana always did consider themselves punk rock. They were heavily influenced by it and Kurt even hated the term "grunge". Grunge was a term given to all the Seattle underground bands at the time because big music corporations wanted to classify them all under one category. Grunge is more of a label than a genre if you ask me. I usually refer to them as punk rock too.
TheIntenseLime
Exactly, no band should sound the same therefore it's just a label
jazon345 It's very difficult to categorize grunge because grunge is really a juxtaposition of punk and metal. Nirvana was a punk rock band. Soundgarden is more of an alt-metal band. Both, however, are considered part of the "grunge" scene. That said, what Nirvana created musically is like catching lightning in a bottle - a once in a lifetime, never to be duplicated experience.
jazon345 Alice In Chains
Can’t compare any other grunge bad cuz their the creator of grunge
Everyone can agree that this is the best version of the song
When Kurt says “ I keep fighting jealousy till it’s fucking gone.” I felt that.
Jealous of me?
@@Yourereallycoolbut certainly not
This song gets in your head and won't leave.
God I wish they would've played this at the Paramount. That's probably my favorite concert. I wish they would've played it live more often period.
+Stephen hem Probably the second best post never mind show.
Julius Rody Your No.1 is?
Stephen hem the october paramount show. they were still having a ton of fun, and they had the punk rock energy that you get from playing in a smaller venue.
Julius Rody Yes they were. You can definitely see the difference in Kurt's energy and enthusiasm. He showed that kind of energy in pretty much every show pre 1992. Roma 91 is also one of my favorites.
Apparantly Kurt didn't want to play live anymore cos its about his ex Tobi Vali and he didn't wanna piss off Courtney
Best Nirvana song! One of the songs of my life!

+Mike Bryant Kurt's only 4 years older than me..Frances' 9 months older than my daughter. I've been I love with him longer than any of my long term relationships..(only because,my husband passed away 2+a half years ago,today..THE 20th) weird how I lost my man of 12 years on the same date as Kurt's birthday.Courtney was in his life for just over 2 years,by that time he'd married her, they had Frances+then he was murdered..She later says"I wish I'd never married him".Kurt gave his heart 100% to her,in rtn she stomped all over it+sucked the life out of him+then spat him out, like trash. He has always meant a lot to me..(Obv doesn't know.) but Kurt's helped me through some rlly hard times, but without sayin too much personal stuff,I'm also a recovering addict,at the moment I'm in a lil crisis,music,journals,books/vids etc have all been of gr8 comfort to me..esp grieving my own man,who was not murdered+if any1 tried to kill him,I'd be in jail. Not insanely rich from his death!
