05-19-2024 Russell, KS - Close Range Tornado with Ground Circulation

Observed a tornado that formed just west of Russell Sunday afternoon. Also tornado sirens blared with a few power flashes north of town. A satellite tornado tried to form over my location just east of town.

Rode out this storm yesterday in a gas station in Russell. Was traveling home and had to pull off the highway. Scary! Thankful to come through it

The Thunderbolt siren at 0:54 is absolutely terrifying and does a spectacular job of conveying the danger Russell was in.
On a related note, I wonder if this was the same system that spun up one of the surprise EF-1 tornadoes a few blocks from me in PV and Fairway?

It was awesome! I was doing a road trip with a friend when we ran into this and had to seek shelter with some people who opened their doors to us. It took out power lines near us where it touched down. I checked this off of my bucket list without even knowing it was on it! 😆 Thanks Kansas for a wild ride for this city dweller (NYC) and thanks to the awesome people who let us into their basements!

Iam over here in Kansas City Missouri I saw the radar on the phone I was red blob with a white color in it was the white a debis ball? Asof 9:00 pm KC is under a storm watch until2am the line coming in has a bow echo to it I see it on TV radar I hope it does not drop a tornado!!!!!!
