Thanks for the comment, Rhonda. I've reinvented myself many times in my career so I guess when things aren't going quite right I change it up but never quit. If nothing else, I'm tenacious.
Dear Karen, which color do you use on all your canvas first? it seems like gold or yellow ochre in this painting? Thank you and thank you for sharing your beautiful work!
Thanks for your comment, Elle. This painting does have a metallic gold underpainting. I use different colors and sometimes none at all and just let the gessoed canvas come through.
Thanks for watching, Britt. Getting inspiration and technique ideas are always valuable but the ultimate goal should be to develop a style of your own. So give it a go but I encourage you to move past what I'm doing and try new things for yourself.
Beautiful painting! I love seeing the brush strokes....and the detail...and your choice of colors. Thanks again!!! (I know it's speeded up, but approx. how long does it take you to do a painting?)
Thanks for watching, Emmie. I don't really know how long each painting takes. There is a drying time between layers so I work on other paintings. Sometimes if they aren't going where I want, they will sit in a corner for months. You can slow the video down, if you want, by clicking on the cog wheel at the lower right corner of the video.
That's a lovely one, Karen. It seemed to go through so many phases, I think I liked them all! I like the music in your videos as well!
So nice of you to say, Traci. I use the music from the UA-cam library so there aren't any copyright problems.
Man oh man Karen your work is so beautiful
Thanks for the kind compliment, Moe.
Very nice subtle blends in the work. Congrats!
Thank you very much, Shawn.

Thank you, Anna. I appreciate the support.
Love your work very inspiring . do you used heavy bodied acrylics, glazes??
Thanks for the comment, Lina. I mainly use fluid paint. In the "show more" section has a list of some of the paint I use. Glazes are sometimes used.
What brushes do you use?
Love it
Thanks very much.

Thanks, Karen. I'll give that a try.
I hope that helps.
Evocative without being didactic.
Thanks for watching, Ronne.
