Dang my band is about to play this for little elementary kids next month almost sounds as good but not as good can't wait

They really cut back the tempo so some its Hispanic/Mexican mariachi influence was lost in the trumpets. So the mariachi line kinda feels unnatural in a ballad setting. I understand it was ballad style but still want some of the precussion to have more rhythmic drive. Like some clave or shaker?
Just something to acknowledge the Mexican influence the song originally had.

It’s also a tiny bit harder. The grade for this is 1.5. Vinson’s is a grade 2.

its understandable for it to be easy, my concert band had to play this and it was supposed to be easier so the band can learn it in two days
