Hi thanks , cool we always try to film it from a distance so the viewer can see everything. a lot of these other guys focus on close up shots only. thanks for watching video. ya bug eye view can give you a head ache cheers
good job putting in the membrane in the valleys. why do u cut it length wise? we use the hole thing and normaly go with 6feet at the botton of the roof. but then again we do get bad winters
So the underlayment doesn’t go under the metal valley, nor over? I would like to see how you install the underlayment as I’m a homeowner DIYer, beginner.
True American Roofing- a few problems- 1 the Ice&water should extend beyond the edges of W valley metal, then underlayment should be installed to center of valley, then W valley goes on top of that. 2 W metal valleys are not to be nailed through. Each side of W should be hemmed in a brakes, clips are attached to the hem, then the clips are nailed to the roof deck. What’s the point of using metal if you’re putting holes in it? I see this WAY too often with roofers and metal valleys. Also clips allow metal to move as it expands and contracts through hot/cold cycles, otherwise it kinks.
Condor1970 because the underlayment goes over the valley so when water runs down the roof that runs into the valley if you put underlayment underneath the valley water will run down underneath the Valley Metal common sense
I would love to do some roofing in America, in Australia we don't have plywood on the roof, we have battens on top of the rafters. Running around on plywood would be awsome, does roofing over there pay well? I have 23 years experience as a roof tiler here in Sydney Australia.
REVHEAD . If you can get a work US Visa ,here in South West Florida (Naples, Bonita Springs ,Ft Myers) Roofing companies are in need of experienced roofers, specialy tile crews ,you can make as much as $80dlls per sq just to lay tile. Medium size roof 45 sqs three man crew in 4 to 5 days. There's a shortage of roofers. Blessings.
Chuck we put a double layer of the peel-n-stick onto the valley transition on a really hot day. it stuck really good. then we installed the valley metal on top of that then we tied into the metal valley to plywood deck with peel-n-stick pn both sides of the valley metal transitions. it stuck really nicely . it must have been around 90 degrees that day. it will never leak.
the valley metal should go above the ice and water shield barrier like in this video but the ice and water was not wide enough in this video. the underlayment then would then overlap onto the ice and water but it would not need to go under the valley metal
I just retired after 30 plus years of commercial roofing. I have modified base sheet I’ll be using for a base. This is going to be my last rodeo for shingles.
That's a lot of roof and he's got a pretty good tan- looks southern. Where is the roof ventilation? Turtle vents? Ridge vent would be even better. I hope this wasn't finished out without ventilation unless its closed cell foam inside and I don't recommend that.
Dude were is the icy & water and drip edge? Plus the roof should be felted or tigered or 🦏 all those things I mentioned need done before valley installation. Also how is that roof breathing don't you cut out for a Ridge so roof can breath? 🤔#wtf
Hi there are a lot of different ways to install this rubber base -peel-n-stick in the valley transition. you can cut it to what ever length you feel comfortable to remove plastic cover on back side and set to seal. if you mess up and fold sheet in wrong direction it is expensive mess up. . some times we take the length in different sections depending on how difficult it is to set in any position. , this was the is easy to show the viewer how to set it into the valley transitions. cheers thanks for watching video.
The A&W the using is a base sheet for peel and stick system ,second maybe no using drip edge o metal around the house because some houses use siding drip o maybe have a wood breeze board around and all depends on the place in the country the have different city codes. And any contractor do the roofs in different way some try reduce the cost of material o some one just want to do a good profesional the only thing the matter in a roof is don’t get a leaks and keep costumes happy!
You're one of those guys that take the homeowners money and only does part of the jobs. I hate guys like you! You're supposed to use the whole width of the I & W shield and not cut it in half you cheapskate. Especially in the valleys. You didn't even take the valley metal all the way to the bottom so that it covers both sides of the roof at an equal distance from the middle. If you're going to put something on video at least know what you're doing. You should be embarrassed.
Finally. Someone on UA-cam got a wide-angle lens. I get really tired of the bug's-eye-view of everything.

Shouldn't there be drip edge installed prior to installing valley metal???
Yes

underlayment first then flashing....
Thank you for sharing. Have a good weekend
you have to install the felt first and then the metal
Does underlayment go under valley metal
Why aren't they putting down underlayment beneath the valley?
Condor1970 because the underlayment goes over the valley so when water runs down the roof that runs into the valley if you put underlayment underneath the valley water will run down underneath the Valley Metal common sense
one question: how long did you put the valley on top of the other? I mean, a foot or less.
Whoo! Ric flair is the man!
One of the Nelson twins is now roofing?
Hand nailing? 24 inch ice and water, with 24 metal?

Awesome help. Thanks!
Hey Palos how is your hair looking. oh yeah the ice and water shield should be wider than the metal valley

Yep yep, smh
Chuck Taylor King and it should be under the valley how we do it up in Canada any how
THUNDER RAIN ROOFER good for u. Noone cares about canada ey
Rudy Straight I care about Canada and it’s eh not ey lol get it right eehhhhh
My understanding is valleys metal goes on top of underlayment
the valley metal should go above the ice and water shield barrier like in this video but the ice and water was not wide enough in this video. the underlayment then would then overlap onto the ice and water but it would not need to go under the valley metal

how long does a job like this usually take and what's something like this cost a homeowner?
Informative, good filming! Thanks
Hi thanks for watching the video
Cheers
iws over killing .and iws on the ridges?
Ive helped hand nail over 300 houses a year we put it in valley roll roofing or ice sheal not metal with singles seems it rusts
Hey mister looking good isn't it the weather wash has to be wider than the valley I'm just saying

True American Roofing- The Official Page in Florida, does the peel n stick go over 30# felt or is valley metal used?
Hi there True American, I had a question; how do you meet the two piece of W metal at the top?
Wish you'd taken the camera to a better angle looks like you nailed pretty close to the edge . Got a small leak right below valley like yours .
The A&W the using is a base sheet for peel and stick system ,second maybe no using drip edge o metal around the house because some houses use siding drip o maybe have a wood breeze board around and all depends on the place in the country the have different city codes. Doesn't the roof need ac water and some kind of black paper
Thankyou for. Teaching us
Sad to see no ridge vents.
Agreed. however, maybe the home did not have any soffit intake and if so, a ridge vent would have been useless
I miss being able to walk around free with no rope till osha catches you once. Slows work down and personally think its more dangerous at times
Trespassing gets you shot where I come from😂regardless of your job.
where is yous harnest and safety
michal franko dude that's like a 3/12 or 4/12 pitch. You can do handstands on that and not fall or slip off.
Is this in Florida? You have a nice tan
😊
i think he didnt learn how to intall a rrof
the ice and water shield has to be wider
also you have to nstall the felt firs and then the valley metal
Nice
Thank you
U should of told that dude w hat to step along On the valley peel & stick He did like a half foot drag Moved onto the next one
Are they any other ROOFERS from Florida wondering wtf are they doing????🤔
nice work
I like you sunglasses
This guy is living in the 70s no heavy machinery
it will never leak
True American Roofing/ with Mexican's..
Lol. There are at least 23 countries in the Americas - including Mexico.
Guys a hack
Hack metal and solder wtf
Dude is cooked
You don't seem to care about the safety of any of your employees.......
Wtf he is doing
Can't take people that wear shorts to work seriously.
Coming from someone who is sitting behind a desk in a air conditioned room. Stfu
me either, I grew up in the 40s when men dressed for the job
As long they make a good job don't complaint.
You wear pants on a hot 110 degree day up on a roof with no air blowing you’d be crying your eyes out from burning so badly .
At least he owns the company he does what he wants
This guy is joke. Not a true experience roofer.
am i the only one who wonders why no one in these videos wears any type of safety harness!?!??!
A safety harness slows them down and really isn't needed for pros who are used to being on a roof every day.
Shutup Karen
Good job...
Here's a tip 4 u.
Keep your face out if the camera.
Starting to get a little creepy.
A mobile camera man makes a better video ....
Thats gonna leak.. lol
what a mess.... Wow
