I've seen so many modifications on this same shop press and this is the best I've seen by others on UA-cam and HANDS DOWN this is the best one yet! Your video's are well thought out and explained in complete detail. By no means are they long winded. I'm a person that's wants to know how everything is done in full detail including materials. Your video's has given me some excellent idea's and how I have improved my own shop and they worked very well. Thanks Doug!
One summer I worked as a press brake operator, and the only times you would want to have the bottom V separated was for clearance on a multi-bend part. Another reason we would use separate bottoms was for multiple setups at once, like for a rectangular box you could have one 24in section, a gap, and a 6in chunk. Love seeing your videos and always finding "a better way"!
Your brushes cracked me up. I had to go back and time my pause to read the sign. Your challenge is to keep the joke going in future videos with smaller and smaller brushes. Merry Christmas 🎄
Have you ever thought about making the press wider? Im wanting to make mine 30-36" wide for larger sheets I need to bend. Then extend the swag spring retainers out more. Theyre just returns. They arent under force while pressing. Just odd everyone does all these smart upgrades but never extend the capacity of the bender.
Instead of grinding off the bottom of the angle iron I milled the top of it, that way I can always get as sharp radius as possible. Luckily my G0704 could cut the stock size angle iron.
I have never used a finger break, nor could I tell you the difference between hemming die or a gooseneck die but I am in awe of the level of organization. I’m sure you could sell these for a mint to metal workers who could appreciate this
Doug, I'm amazed with the thought and creativity you put into this project. I really like the way you keep things so well organized. You have an engineering mind that's put to good practical use.
The one reason for the bottom to be segmented would be for outward turned ears when bending boxes. Similar to the same reasons you might need individual widths on the top.

Loved the video not to long. Everything turned out really nice great tips and ideas.The powder coating gives everything a nice clean look.
since you made storage spots for all your adapters then angle iron should be one of them so will not go missing and be used for a project. 😁

there are instances you would want the lower die in some pieces just like the upper fingers.

Assume you use the small brush-cleaning brush to clean the brush cleaning brush attachment brush?
