Laurids no that’s not true.. we only know about America but there are more survivors in other lands to! Some walkers maybe walk from an other land just like some survivors. I mean like- America won’t be the only land with survivors! So there will be new zombies every day
It does not disprove it, it proves that if a show has good ratings they will keep going on even of they stop following their original logic and or plans
Not everyone died in the same day. People who die later on in the apocalypse would still have to decompose within the 30 day period. More herds = later deaths
Recently there was an anthrax outbreak in Russia due to a reindeer that had died 70 years ago during an outbreak and had been frozen in permafrost until it thawed modern day. Zombies in colder climates could be preserved for 100+ years to unleash another outbreak on future generations that have forgotten of their crazy grandparent's stories.
Another small detail that may go along with this theory: If you look at the title "The Walking Dead" throughout the seasons, you'll see that the title begins to decay more and more over the seasons

actually, there is an episode where andrea runs from the governor and hides inside a building. in one scene you can see a "it's all a dream" sprayed on an wall. hint ?!
The thing that bugs me is that the writers ignore the realistic decomposition, and yet they clearly show the walkers getting skinnier and wasting away over time!
Me I honestly owe like 83 percent of all my knowledge to matpat Austin it's ridiculous I'm the only person I know below 50 that knows what a half life is
True, but as the threat of a zombie apocalypse isn't supported by science, there are a type of bacteria that, if they evolve, they could make humans act like zombies!
You double applied Casper's law. The zombies were already exposed to those elements, so they are factored into their current lifespan. You do not apply it for a second time when it is already built into your rate of decay.
gamefreakfail I often do something similar, so don't worry about it. I just got lucky today and thought of a way to condense it to a simple comment. ;)
Plus first winter were the temperature drops bellow zero and any creature without the ability to create heat to the sense to find shelter is going to die. The cell structure in the more watery parts of the body is destroyed as ice crystals form and the virus is either shut down or killed while this process if going on. Most walkers die in the cold and people can move freely at this time of year as only walkers trapped inside will survive so they can go round and make sure they all die with hammers while they can't fight back. Occasionally new walkers are going to be made as people die but with the reduced population density even in the rare case where people are too careless to burn their dead the infection is only going to last a year at max before winter claims it.
I’ve got a problem with mat pat reducing the 270 days to a month due to the 8x acceleration rate because he already based his math on the rate the zombies were already decomposing which already includes the 8x rate. The only difference in decomposition rates would be temperature.
+Finnish Viking He meant that the apocalypse is happening because "Fear the Walking Dead" is in the same universe meaning that it is not a coma or a dream but actually happening
+Frenchican Well if you haven't noticed lot of TV shows have become better than most big hollywood movies. So yes I would say they use logic in some way
+phil shou Watch/Read any interviews with the make up artist, Greg Nicotero. He had even done a Q&A where he explains it. "Q: Tell us about the zombie decomposition that’s happening in Season 3. How are you changing the ways the zombies are portrayed from season to season? A: Well one thing I always think about and the rest of the crew can attest to is just how grueling the weather is in Georgia. The sun literally will bake you if you stand out in the sun too long. And one day I’m thinking about it and I’m like, “OK, what would happen to these creatures that have no actual ability to protect themselves from the elements?” So you can only imagine how horrible the smell would be, and what we felt it was important to play up is the idea that these things are becoming dried up and disintegrated and leathery. Q: What new tricks have you come up with for the zombie makeups this year? A: We’ve been able to do a lot more full-body prosthetics. One thing that I wanted to allow for in Season 3 was, you know, rotted chests and rotted backs. So we sculpted male and female rotted torsos that get glued directly to the performers. And one of the ideas we like playing up was that the walkers, because they are rotting and decomposed, is that they’re sort of putrefying - so if you come in contact with any of them and you slash at them, parts of them might sort of liquefy and come off." Right? Imagine a zombie show 50 years after an outbreak where there are established governments smaller states with a large no man's land filled with zombies and bandits. You can see the difference between the old people who were around before the outbreak and those who grew up in it.
***** Yeah that would be so cool. Maybe a third show would be another walking dead would happen after a government collapse, since there would be no way to take care of the zombies of dead people.

Fucking Negan love it how you put yourself above everyone else by calling them "fucking retards"even though this is quite a dumb theory (No Offence Ravioli xD)
+AnotherBlondeBillman Not if you consider new walkers being created daily. Their timeline would start from when they were turned, not from when the show started. So, Eh, on the whole concept. it's meaningless in the context of the show.
Master Volume Agreed. I mean, this is a really smart thing. And it could make sense. If the creators of the show had a different road to go down. And they only show us the survivors of 3 states in the show. That's only 3 states of 50 states in America. And then there's all of the other countries in the world. Trust me. Walkers aren't going extinct any time before there isn't any humans. Imagine how many zombies are in the world. They showed us 3 states. There is an entire world out there with billions of zombies.
+Kate11289 I heard that too. I just commented on it right before I saw your post. Funny. I thought this guy said he watches the show carefully! he doesn't even know Tara's name.
Sicne the people commenting here didn't even watch the first fcking season. It's airborne. Everyone has it. Everyone will have it. It's just that 85% of the entire population died in the first two weeks and so there was a giant mass of zombies. Once they are gone society can be rebuild with a focus on the fact people turn into Zombies through either death or a Zombie Bite which infects the wound with a so far incurable disease that leads to death and deaths leads to Zombie.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this theory makes 0 sense. For example: If every single zombie just blew up randomly and there was no zombies left, The Walking Dead still couldn't be over; if one person dies of age or sickness, they just become a zombie and bite somebody else and it just restarts the cycle. Please correct me if I missed something.
+BlitzBloodFan But there won't be hordes anymore, because there aren't many living people left. There will only be small numbers of zombies, who will be killed easily by people who are experts in killing zombies.
+Marshall Wilcox yeah it's not Like someone is dumb enough to (somehow) get a nuke and kill a lot of people but I wonder when people are about to die will they make special hospitals to do that? If they die at home well.....Every home in the world has a pistol at the door lol
Marshall Wilcox Not necessarily true, because if one person in a camp gets sick (like the part in the prison) and gets everyone else in the camp to get infected, that's a quite large horde itself.
Yeah but the ratio of zombies to people won't be 7,000 to 1 anymore for one, and two people will stab their dead thus preventing majority of them from becoming a zombie, and three there won't be anymore hordes
Hey, I have a idea for a episode. If you were to eat the entire Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghotsbusters, discounting how many times you would die of diabetes, how many calories would Stay Puft be.
+The Film Theorists Might I suggest, if you haven't already, doing a doctor who theory? Like how much power would it take for the tardis to work? or how the sonic screwdriver would work in real life?
The problem is that while the original zombies have been decomposing, they’ve been adding new zombies to their ranks. Biting people, people just... dying and becoming zombies without being bitten. These newer zombies would be in earlier stages of decomposition, thus filling out the ranks of the zombie horde.
+joujou264 So? Eventually people will start to come together for safety. No zombies means an increase in animal predators and an awfully long time without bullet production. People will come together and make technological advances, like what happens during wars. And, assuming there are still people who were around before the outbreak, the idea of a hierarchy, a government, money, etc. isn't foreign. It's something you see them crave and form on their own. They've lived with other humans before, so it won't be hard or an extremely strenuous for them to figure out how to do it again
***** Some being the key word there. Yes, the Wolves are too far gone to ever become a part of civilization. But...aren't there always people like that? Serial killers, mass murderers...we have that problem TODAY and have been living in civilized society for centuries. However, we saw a ton of people living in harmony at the Prison for what could have potentially been forever. Humanity isn't gone, just certain part of it (like today)
+Unicorn Films The main threat in TWD is the degradation of society and what Rick and Co are willing to sacrifice in order to survive in the new world. Every time they encounter a new threat they slowly degrade into the very thing they fought against(Season 1 Police Officer Rick in comparison to now). Even when Alexandria becomes safe again, even when Negan and the saviors are brought to heel these threats still exist. People are more barbaric because of what they had to go through, Rick and co don't allow people to become weak by shielding them from the world outside of Alexandria. Even the next generation (Carl, Enid) have tremendous physical/emotional scars that would stop them from leading a 'normal' life. It's the world they're in right now. The enemies that the group encounter further into the story are morally broken depending on how far into the story you are. You're approaching the story without full knowledge of what is about to happen in the series. The Saviors are men ruled by an egomaniac/dictator/insane person, Negan. Most of the citizens that the Saviors have stay with them because they're more scared of trying to survive in the wild than they are of him. Most of the citizens are normal people. The Whisperers, people that skin walkers and wear their flesh so they can blend into herds and ambush any within their territory. - These are the groups of people you've yet to come across, so your overall assumption on what is going to happen is limited to what the show has shown you. The entire point of this series is to show how society falls from the grass roots and tries to rebuild what they had. Removing the biggest threat (crazy people) is something the writers wouldn't do. Even now when Hilltop, Alexandria and the Saviors are working together Robert Kirkman is making a threat that is big enough to destroy all 3 communities. They will always create a threat that is bigger than the group can handle, and therefore to say that the entire world will be joining hands by the end of this is completely contradictory with how the story has gone so far. They also create these enemies with the strictest intentions on making them not "insane" per-se, but just highly adapted people that became who they were to survive. Eugene also makes bullets in All Out War for the war against the Saviors, not for the protection of people against Walkers - further evidence that the series won't give up on its Humans VS Humans story.
BasedPeasant I haven't read the comics, so I didn't know about future storylines. That's very interesting. However, it's what animals do in cases of danger. They turn on others (every man for himself), but also do what they can to protect their family (continuation of your bloodline). While I'm not undermining the amount of work it would take to rebuild society (look how long it took us to go from warring nomadic tribes to the kind of society we live in now), I'm simply saying it isn't impossible. Human vs. Human is, has always been, and always will be a _threat_. There is always the instinct to protect yourself and your future bloodline and to do what it takes to make that happen. In our society today, there isn't much threat to us or our children. Everybody is safe and happy and we're the biggest predators. However, if you were to take that safety away, we would end up exactly like Rick and co. as well as future groups that the show hasn't gone into yet. Less "human". To get that safety back, to relearn the behavior that we have now, the behavior of a creature safe from harm, and to learn to calm that instinct because it isn't necessary for our survival, is an incredibly long, hard journey. It just isn't _impossible_. Once you reduce the imminent threat of the Walkers, your biggest threats become other humans (if you can, in fact, manage to secure artillery and weaponry). It would take mutual goals and necessities and _generations_ of people to get back to the kind of society we have now.
***** A very good point. You have between two minutes and three hours, if memory serves, to destroy the brain before a human turns. Of course, one has to beg the question: are people born AFTER the initial infection safe? Is the virus still in the air or water, or has it dies out? Is it sexually transmitted, passed from mother to child, etc? Nobody knows. There is a chance that after the generations alive during the initial infection die out, that wouldn't be a problem. And, if in fact everyone turns into a host forever, I'm sure destroying the brain shortly after death would become as commonplace as a burial ritual today. While I am positive that small outbreaks would happen, I'm sure society would figure out how to deal with it. It would become a common practice in life, and it would ensure that the destruction of the brain upon death remained a common practice. It would encourage the sick to seek medical attention and would probably help humanity deal with random shootings and murders, as nobody wants a zombie problem on their hands. I do agree with the fact that bringing together large amounts of people is dangerous. But, again, I think that people would adapt and learn how to deal with death and destruction of the brain in a timely matter. Gathering people in small communities may even be the way to go, so long as the communities are sustainable by themselves (grow crops, sanitary, etc.) or have trade agreements. Perhaps small communities could all live in a "large community where they're separate but live under the legislature of a mayor, and perhaps these large communities live in a "state" under the legislature of a governor (bad reference, I know, but I'm speaking in terms of a governor in our terms, not the Governor from the show/comics), who live under the legislature of a President. We could have a democratic system similar today, where each large community elects a mayor who may go on to run for the governor of his/her state, who may go on to run for president., ensuring that a president would be equipped to deal with running a country. There would be a "Congress" made up of, say, three representatives from every "state". A judicial system would be left up to the discretion of governors and mayors. Travel between small communities would be fairly easy, though you would have to check in upon entering a community and you must either register a trip lasting overnight/several days (not a hard process, just something you have to alert the mayor/their office to so that they could identify you should something happen) or you must return home by an appropriate curfew hour. Travelling between large communities would be harder, and you would probably need something similar to a flight plan, something all flying vehicles must register in case of an accident today. Travel between states would be similar. Moving wouldn't be too hard, you just have to secure a homestead before leaving your small community. Wow okay that was incredibly long and boring, I apologize. Just trying to speculate that it's not totally impossible and probably not even improbable.
Billions of people became zombies at the beginning of the series leaving only a tiny fraction of people left alive. The theory is not that all zombies will disappear, but that once the several billion initial zombies creating the massive hoards decay; the characters will only need to contend with smaller and hence less dangerous groups of zombies.
+Jesse Jones Yeah, but since most of the human population was zombified to begin with, there's a small fraction of humanity left (probably somewhere in the millions as opposed to billions). So the only real threat left is trying to rebuild civilization with other people (which is exactly where the show is going, as they're now introducing Negan and the threat he represents).
+Skizzy I'd imagine if the humans were to grow into bigger numbers again, it'll only be possible if they either have a natural immunity of sorts or some way to avoid getting infected (such as a cure, a vaccine, or even simply to not get bitten). As for the dead bodies... cremation. Of course, there is the chance of another outbreak in the distant future, but they'll have to be prepared for it. Remember, that's still generations down the line.
In your final calculation, you're inappropriately applying Casper's Law to divide 276 by 8. By your calculations based on the current rate of decomposition, the zombies should last 828 days WITH the increased decay rate of Casper's Law. That denominator is already factored into that number, meaning that whatever increased preservation trait the zombie virus passes onto its host more than counteracts Casper's Law. Using the 20 days it normally takes to get to Black Putrefaction, divide it by 8 (casper's law) and to say that a body exposed to elements would get there in 2.5 days. From this we can deduce that in the absence of the elements, zombies would actually last 6,624 days (6624/8 = 828 days that it would take to reach brain stem decay). So, they need to hold on for another 276 days to reach the the decay of the majority of zombies in temperate zones, but another 17 years for well-preserved zombies.
I’m watching this in 2024 (8 years later!) and it’s crazy to see what TWD fans thought back then, and it’s so far off, this franchise has changed so much, and it’s still changing.
Season 2's ending is my favourite Season ending for some reason.. It just feels so good because it's the first major horde their base got raided by. Also they split up which opened up different storylines and shaped the seasons after. Probably one of the most important for character development.
I like how Mat predicts a couple of years of zombies left then amc just says nope we gone go ahead and skip 6 years where the zombies are still chillin
+Luka “luka000sb” Ravlić How can you say it's negligible? EVERYONE alive WILL DIE and turn. There is no escape, anyone alive is a zombie. The more people that get born, the more zombies there will be. This theory makes NO sense!
+MrAlexanderPwn Their all already infected though. Every human alive is already infected, so the zombies can't go extinct! There is PLENTY of material (the comics are still in print) and they still have KILLER ratings.
+Tankapotamus ua-cam.com/video/7xEJusROWN4/v-deo.html Here he says that in the first season survivors are few, that means most humans turned in the first 2 months of the outbreak.
That's Tara, not Rosita. There are always going to be Walkers ("Zombies, as we know them, don't exist in this universe) because everyone is infected, so regardless of how you die, you become a Walker. The real threat is the humans which is what this show is really about, the Walkers are just the icing on the cake.
Its still a show about zombies. Otherwise it would be a survival show, without zombies. The ''We are all infected'' thing, is probably one of the most stupid things in TWD. It makes no sense at all, and its not how a virus works. Guess why the creators didnt talked about the virus no more after Season 1? Not because ''The Show is about the humans now'' its because they dont have a explanation themselves.
I always thought the virus was just an airborne type of thing. Everyone living is infected and once they die that comes into play. You do have a good point, though. I haven't heard anything else mentioned about it either. I also agree with what Amy said. You can live life normally once the walkers decay fully, but everyone just needs to make sure that, if someone dies, you take care of their brain (shooting, stabbing, etc).
my theory is that their is a airborn virus that infected everyone on earth but it only takes it's course when someone dies because the virus may be fighting against the bodys cells (sorry I cant think of what their called) so when the person dies the virus can take over and be able to spread more quickly thus spreading the virus at a more affective pace throughout a host. The only thing that I dont get is why it only occurs with human's.
I think MatPat made a major miscalculation. He said that the remaining 276 days to putrefaction of the brain stem can be divided by 8 to account for accelerated decay due to environmental conditions. That reduction doesn't make sense mathematically for one simple reason. The majority of the zombies have been exposed to the elements for the entire time they've been zombies. If the elements were going to accelerate decay? It would have ALREADY happened... unless it has. The virus is clearly slowing the rate of decay considerably. What if the elements are the only reason that they're decayed as far as they are. That would mean the 828 days he estimated for decay already INCLUDES environmental acceleration. It would also mean any zombies that were trapped in an indoor, dry and cool location could last up to 6,624 days. That's over 18 YEARS! But hey, that's just an analysis. A Film Theory analysis. Thanks for reading.
4:45 Better theory, the zombies can remember some elements of their lives. The proof: The girl picks up the teddy bear, probably a strong memoir from her life.
gerald ojo Even if they show zombies doing some emotional bullshit (which I doubt because I think TWD is done by smart people) I will re-iterate the same fact.
It’s funny I’m watching this now, after 6 years has past and the zombies are still here, and we have the last episode ever coming out next year 😱 and then the movie and also fear the walking dead cuz that’s a thing now
It would be funny like what if they order pizza and Glenn was the guy that was driving to there house and dropping the pizza off that's another episode with Glenn so I would not mind
Writers: "We plan on finishing the show when it would make sense for the zombies to expire. It's pretty neat, we've been setting it up for quite a wh-" AMC: "Fuck you.
+Eugenideddis I don't think so. Take a look at Breaking Bad, when it ended, it was at the height of it's popularity. What's more likely to happen is that The Walking Dead will end just as the writers plan it to, but we'll see a spin-off series a couple of years after. Like Better Call Saul.
Then they make a sequel to the show set in Russia. Never gonna decompose there, it's like -5 degrees (Farenheit, not Celsius) on adverage. But, the mountainous terrain and the lack of population in East Russia makes survival easy once you can get there. At that point, wildlife is a bigger threat.
Henry kinda deserved to die, he got the others killed cause he wanted Lydia puss, lesson here kids, is don't think with your dick, think with your brain
Im way late here, and maybe i miss this part being explained.. But theres always "new" people turning into "fresh" zombies. It takes that long to decompose but theres always going to be new groups of zombies for years. EVENTUALLY it'll stop but that would take a really long time.
+tori0ri0ri Sure, but since most of humanity seems to be dead already judging by the long stretches they can go without seeing another human then seeing the odd zombie every now and again would pose virtually no threat. As MatPat says, the zombies are only dangerous in large numbers.
You also gotta take into account of how fast new zombies are being created. Also, as long as people turn into zombies just from dying, the "zombie apocalypse" will never truly be over.
Carson Chiu But unless the virus that causes people to turn into zombies is eradicated, technically, for as long as there is a human left to die and zombify, the fight against zombification and the zombies themselves does not end... Unless all humans die out, zombify, and fall apart due to decomposition.
Well, the apocalypse but not the zombification. The disease, unless a cure is mass produced, will still be around. Sure, they'll find ways to prevent it from infecting, but it'll still infect.
Most of the human population turned right in the beginning. The survivors are very few compared to the zombie numbers. So the total population decline of Zombies is inevitable even if few new once turn.

The thing that bugs me is that the writers ignore the realistic decomposition, and yet they clearly show the walkers getting skinnier and wasting away over time!
At some point they just decided they wanted twd to be resident evil 😂
Who else agrees that they pay more attention to MatPat than School.
So California is overrun by Zombies too?

Me I honestly owe like 83 percent of all my knowledge to matpat Austin it's ridiculous I'm the only person I know below 50 that knows what a half life is
Picture of A Truck to true
Picture of A Truck me
the zombies aren't a real threat most of the time anyways, it's the humans (governor/negan/claimers/termites)
True, but as the threat of a zombie apocalypse isn't supported by science, there are a type of bacteria that, if they evolve, they could make humans act like zombies!
Or even better, the genus Cordyceps which the game "The Last of Us" is based on could evolve from affecting arthropods to humans.
+Luxinuful Well, someone knows their biological science, huh?
but really none of this matters cuz its a tv show, not real life, they can make whatever they want happen and not go by the laws of life.
Rick is much, much worse than the governor
You double applied Casper's law.
The zombies were already exposed to those elements, so they are factored into their current lifespan. You do not apply it for a second time when it is already built into your rate of decay.
+Twosocks42 exactly, that's the only major mistake I noticed. but well, science is hard!
true
+Twosocks42 wow I feel stupid I just basically said what you said in a much bigger comment in another thread.
gamefreakfail I often do something similar, so don't worry about it.
The Walking Dead will end like this: And then the young 11 year old boy Rick woke up in his bed after a horrible nightmare.
+Jack Charles Fowler You ever heard of "Fear The Walking Dead" ? It takes place when the outbreak of the virus happens when rick is in a coma.
+Zysepニック did the fear the walking dead happen when rick was 11? no read the comment again
+Finnish Viking He meant that the apocalypse is happening because "Fear the Walking Dead" is in the same universe meaning that it is not a coma or a dream but actually happening
+Jack Charles Fowler They will rename the show LOST. Remember that shit!
its real
Lol that moment when he really thinks a tv director would use logic
+Frenchican Well if you haven't noticed lot of TV shows have become better than most big hollywood movies. So yes I would say they use logic in some way
+Frenchican wolf not far
+Frenchican you stupid? the director is purposely decaying the zombies.
+Juan Alejos and you know that how?
And one of the ideas we like playing up was that the walkers, because they are rotting and decomposed, is that they’re sort of putrefying - so if you come in contact with any of them and you slash at them, parts of them might sort of liquefy and come off."

After the walking dead ends, they should make a show about the rebuilding of society and what happens after the walking dead.
Right? Imagine a zombie show 50 years after an outbreak where there are established governments smaller states with a large no man's land filled with zombies and bandits. You can see the difference between the old people who were around before the outbreak and those who grew up in it.
Peepl Yeah it would be so cool
***** Yeah. That would be awesome.
+Anti Nazi there is a book called "FEED" its about society after zombie apocalypse, I really liked it :D
***** Yeah that would be so cool. Maybe a third show would be another walking dead would happen after a government collapse, since there would be no way to take care of the zombies of dead people.
“Zombies are decomposing”
10 or so years after the outbreak: Still 1 million zombies over every hill you climb
PLOT TWIST
The BEGINNING of Rick waking up out of a coma is actually the END (or is it a new beginning?)
it did show him getting shot by bandits though... + the cities look extremely civilized for it to be after the apocalypse
Ravioli Kirkman already denied that in an interview
no what im saying is totally different
read the fucking comment, he means that when he wakes up from coma, it is after the apocalypse. good theory, doubt its real cos 90% of this fanbase are fucking retarded and wouldn't understand but I like it
Fucking Negan love it how you put yourself above everyone else by calling them "fucking retards"even though this is quite a dumb theory (No Offence Ravioli xD)

I think he's too smart for the producers.
Yea. XD
no
+AnotherBlondeBillman Not if you consider new walkers being created daily.
The producers base it off the comics
So going someplace colder is a BAD idea. GODDAMNIT CLEMENTINE!!!
Bolt Fantasticated lol
Actually, a colder climate would be a good since zombies are dead and don't produce body heat. You get below freezing and problem solved.

Can you please research how the virus started? That would be an awesome video

Just look up is a zombie apocalypse possible
Mighty Blue Walter White from Breaking Bad is the guilty, Im not kidding, it was confirmed by Robert Kirkman, search it.
Robert Kirkman said he knew what happened but he’ll never tell anyone but I doubt it the truth always comes out.
David, don't lie. RK never once confirmed that. It's been a running joke amongst themselves for years. It's a joke. Not confirmation. Big difference.
I remember doing these calculations and coming to this conclusion when I was over thinking the zombie apocalypse when I was 13

Would you really like a Season in Antartica?
+Agustin Hernandez Would it be bad to say yes?
+Denmark yes
+Agustin Hernandez That will only last the time of the show. (40 minutes an episode)
Denmark In the series, walkers move slower the colder it is, so, Walkers that move 0.00000000001 Mph = Not a good TV Show.
You guys do realise if there are new zombies, the cycle will start over.
KacpertheGhost took me forever to find this sort of comment, but I’m sure a lot of people are aware of it.
It depends if the new generation are infected or not
Sicne the people commenting here didn't even watch the first fcking season.
+Marshall Wilcox yeah it's not
Like someone is dumb enough to (somehow) get a nuke and kill a lot of people but I wonder when people are about to die will they make special hospitals to do that? If they die at home well.....Every home in the world has a pistol at the door lol
Marshall Wilcox Not necessarily true, because if one person in a camp gets sick (like the part in the prison) and gets everyone else in the camp to get infected, that's a quite large horde itself.
Yeah but the ratio of zombies to people won't be 7,000 to 1 anymore for one, and two people will stab their dead thus preventing majority of them from becoming a zombie, and three there won't be anymore hordes
+BlitzBloodFan yes but what when all people of the world die
does he even watch the walking dead i mean he said rosita her name is tara
Ikr
+Gina Stevens-McCracken thats because she is an very important character i even forgot that she existed before watching this video

Walking dead still going on.
the series move slow than the real time
get it cause there walkers and there slow
Hes saying hows its gonna end not thats its ending
Actually 3
Dripzy_eaftyheat No, he literally said it was ending
The video is for entertainment purposes, it's not really when he thinks the show will end. Also, it's just a theory... a film theory.
Now it's time to do it all again in fear the walking dead
Jackson Wald What?
Bron Baby its the twin brother from The Walking Dead
Thats why that series exists

Hey, I have a idea for a episode. If you were to eat the entire Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghotsbusters, discounting how many times you would die of diabetes, how many calories would Stay Puft be.
This will be an episode. I just wrote it down. Expect it as we get closer to summer. Thanks for the suggestion, it's BRILLIANT!
+The Film Theorists kool
+The Film Theorists you mean the walking deaf not the walking dead
+The Film Theorists Huh. Interesting.
These newer zombies would be in earlier stages of decomposition, thus filling out the ranks of the zombie horde.
yes but remember that at least 70% of the population was wiped out during the first year. so the numbers of the herds in season 10 and 11 don't add up
Zombies aren't the actual threat, it's society not returning for a long time. The zombies might be gone, but humanity has reverted back to tribes.
+joujou264
So? Eventually people will start to come together for safety. No zombies means an increase in animal predators and an awfully long time without bullet production. People will come together and make technological advances, like what happens during wars. And, assuming there are still people who were around before the outbreak, the idea of a hierarchy, a government, money, etc. isn't foreign. It's something you see them crave and form on their own. They've lived with other humans before, so it won't be hard or an extremely strenuous for them to figure out how to do it again
*****
Some being the key word there.
BasedPeasant
I haven't read the comics, so I didn't know about future storylines.
*****
A very good point.
Glenn couldn't wait for a few more months
What about the threat of new zombies? if Zombification is triggered by death, doesn't that make every human alive a future zombie?
Billions of people became zombies at the beginning of the series leaving only a tiny fraction of people left alive. The theory is not that all zombies will disappear, but that once the several billion initial zombies creating the massive hoards decay; the characters will only need to contend with smaller and hence less dangerous groups of zombies.
+Daniel Friesen Nice, thank you for clearing that up, i myself was confused by that to
Yeah, at the current time in the show zombie outnumber humans 5000-1
8 years later, the walking dead is on year 12 of the apocalypse and the zombies are still there. great video though!!!
It will end with a SKELETON WAR!!!!!!!!!!
SPOOPY, SCARY SKELETONS SEND SHIVERS DOWN YOUR SPINE!
Could you imagine? Lmao
+Slenderspartan OH no, but Papyrus wouldn't be able to kill anyone.......

The real threat isn't the walkers, it's the humans.
because of the walkers.
because of teh human nature >_>
Michael King exactly
Michael King no dur. Season Seven
Michael King You should fear Season 7 Ep. 1
Walker Life Spans WITH Casper's Law
Initial decay = 0 - 83 days
Putrefaction = 84 - 276 days
Black Putrefaction = 277 - 576 days
Butyric Fermentation = 577 - 1380 days
Dry Decay = 1381 - 9660 days
Without Casper's Law
0 - 664
665 - 2208
2209 - 4608
4609 - 11040
11041 - 77280
Thank you. Matt really dissapointed me with that
I was about to comment the same thing. Well played, my friend… well played.
+John Gardner You beat me to it
he said that is why they are moving the characters to colder climates, to milk more of the show
I’m watching this in 2024 (8 years later!) and it’s crazy to see what TWD fans thought back then, and it’s so far off, this franchise has changed so much, and it’s still changing.
To be honest Season 2 was one of my favorites seasons
Chris Max Cisneros please tell me you're joking
Season 2's ending is my favourite Season ending for some reason.. It just feels so good because it's the first major horde their base got raided by. Also they split up which opened up different storylines and shaped the seasons after. Probably one of the most important for character development.
Season 2/Farm House is a great season to binge watch but a TERRIBLE week to week season because it is a very slow moving season.
Piercee Same with season 4 I think? The terminus one
At least the show gets a proper ending. RIPTelltale

Why is this guy acting like fresh zombies aren't being created EVERYDAY by new people dying, turning them?
Because it's negligible. There are very few zombies being created.

Silent Steve there* they're* effected*
Silent Steve humans*
Watching this 7 years later is funnny.
I still say that the show is gonna end with a mind fuck, Rick wakes up from his coma, end of series.
That does seem unlikely but awesome
Kirkman said it wasn't going to happen that way.
That's exactly what I think will happen and all the people will work at the hospital or something
That would be awesome, yes, but there is no way that's going to happen
+Xander i'd be content with that, at least no one died
5:47 wait Rosita? i thought that was terra
Izaiah Makes Stuff it was Tara
with Terra in team Rick, shit would have been easier
Izaiah Makes Stuff
he has no idea didnt even watch the show peoperly
It is tara
Izaiah Makes Stuff it is
did he just call tera, rosita?
*tara
Yup he did and im pretty upset about it
DIY Dani And Cover Camila where have i seen you before?
kwadwo baidoo right here eyooo
***** WHAT?! GET OUT!
And Morgan's wife tries opening their house door.
See? Proof!
You are wrong because you did not take into account the muscle memory.
Artist Rahul exactly the girl could have been holding the bear when she died
gerald ojo Even if they show zombies doing some emotional bullshit (which I doubt because I think TWD is done by smart people) I will re-iterate the same fact.
How has it been 552 days if Carl went from 10-16?
+CdudeGaming
irl the actor went from 10-16, but the show isn't following actual time. As was mentioned, the recent season takes place over 2 DAYS.
+Unicorn Films actually it's 2 months now
the actor is 16 but his character in the show is close to turn just 12 years old
+Unicorn Films 2 Months now
Lol
*season 7 comes around*
Writer 1: crap we don't have anymore time. What do we do.
Writer 2: uhh mutations?
Writer 1: BRITLLIANT
Uliverse no mutations in the walking dead
Uliverse, Pretty much just go the Resident Evil route lol
Uliverse 😂
Writer 3:Or how about we just make the season set in half an hour?
It’s funny I’m watching this now, after 6 years has past and the zombies are still here, and we have the last episode ever coming out next year 😱 and then the movie and also fear the walking dead cuz that’s a thing now
I love the fact that Matt does this much research to give us content keep doing well!!!😊👌
Oh he is!
yeah in both Film and Game theorists
could’ve researched how to spell “decomposition” (i’m kidding! mistakes happen, love u matpat)
In a week
Most if it is pre-algebra
What if walking dead isn't real
And Rick just hasn't woken up from his coma?
Fangame Empire plot twist
That would make a horrible plot twist.
Ohhhh
ohhh that would be a fun what if
That would be the worst ending ever
Jokes on us all. The zombie outbreak isnt real. Ricks just dreaming it all in his coma
It would be funny like what if they order pizza and Glenn was the guy that was driving to there house and dropping the pizza off that's another episode with Glenn so I would not mind
krystal padden that's from reddit
+Geoff Goodham who's reddit
Eddie Bixby stoooooop I hate you guys
+Kimberly Piatt umm I was not talking to u. I was talking to someone else
Who else is here after the ending of twd to see how accurate he was?
The reason why the zombies look more grotesque is because their budget got a huge raise.....
LOOOOOOOLL
+James Tron Yeah that is my thought aswell, though there is something to what he says too :3
+James Tron Buthurt Walking Dead fans.
+James Tron but why would they make the zombies follow the stages of decomposition rather then just stay in one of them?
They've said it themselves, the zombies are slowly decomposing.
Can we talk about how when he talked about Rosita pulling the skin off of a zombie the clip was of Tara?
YeA he's not a fan
Gianni OPgaming66 nah man I’m pretty sure he is
had to pause the vid and scroll in the comments to see if anyone else noticed this lol
Jessica Lipinsky yea I was going to comment about it but someone beat me too it
AkaJoe lol
Writers: "We plan on finishing the show when it would make sense for the zombies to expire. It's pretty neat, we've been setting it up for quite a wh-"
AMC: "Fuck you.
Basically what'll happen
+Eugenideddis I don't think so. Take a look at Breaking Bad, when it ended, it was at the height of it's popularity. What's more likely to happen is that The Walking Dead will end just as the writers plan it to, but we'll see a spin-off series a couple of years after. Like Better Call Saul.
+Eugenideddis happend*
+Mees Banning i think he was right
+Eugenideddis so basicly this season that starts up on Sunday may or may not be the last season. unless they move to Canada
“A little over a month”
Walking dead: skips 6 years and about 10 months more after that
Rick: (pause) Walkers aren't the problem anymore.
Stephan Korczak I
Stephan Korczak getting a job is a problem now
Then they make a sequel to the show set in Russia. Never gonna decompose there, it's like -5 degrees (Farenheit, not Celsius) on adverage. But, the mountainous terrain and the lack of population in East Russia makes survival easy once you can get there. At that point, wildlife is a bigger threat.
*average
+PJ Emrey so I guess that if you are able to survive australia, australia is the biggest killer of zombies in the world XD
+PJ Emrey they have nothing regulating there body temperature they would all freeze and be rendered immobile
but they would still freeze
+PJ Emrey im sorry but with no blood pumping through their veins, wouldn't the brainstem freeze?
The fact he called one of the best characters of season 9 Rosita. TRIGGERED me so much.
Also RIP Tara, Enid and Henry
tara was anoying me
UA-cam Needs to STOP wait till Maggie comes back and some one tells her about how Enid died and then she is going to go off of the zombie people
Henry kinda deserved to die, he got the others killed cause he wanted Lydia puss, lesson here kids, is don't think with your dick, think with your brain
@@kevinmoore2474 wait who did he get killed? I skip some parts sometimes oof
UA-cam Needs to STOP word
Im way late here, and maybe i miss this part being explained.. But theres always "new" people turning into "fresh" zombies. It takes that long to decompose but theres always going to be new groups of zombies for years. EVENTUALLY it'll stop but that would take a really long time.
But everyone's infected with the walker disease, so when anybody dies more walkers form. They will never go out.
+tori0ri0ri I was thinking the same thing. Zombies will go extinct after all of the humans die.
Yep... thought the same myself...
so that theory goes straight out the window
Humans would die out eventually though
+tori0ri0ri Sure, but since most of humanity seems to be dead already judging by the long stretches they can go without seeing another human then seeing the odd zombie every now and again would pose virtually no threat. As MatPat says, the zombies are only dangerous in large numbers.
+Browncoat Allywang tell that to Dale
You also gotta take into account of how fast new zombies are being created. Also, as long as people turn into zombies just from dying, the "zombie apocalypse" will never truly be over.
the human population isn't an infinite number and imagine the rate of birth is virtually zero so it will end eventually
Carson Chiu But unless the virus that causes people to turn into zombies is eradicated, technically, for as long as there is a human left to die and zombify, the fight against zombification and the zombies themselves does not end... Unless all humans die out, zombify, and fall apart due to decomposition.
Zethany so what you're saying is that the zombie apocalypse will end
Well, the apocalypse but not the zombification. The disease, unless a cure is mass produced, will still be around. Sure, they'll find ways to prevent it from infecting, but it'll still infect.
Most of the human population turned right in the beginning. The survivors are very few compared to the zombie numbers. So the total population decline of Zombies is inevitable even if few new once turn.
