Crazy that now you're on the brink of attaining sub 2.40! And that you ran a sub 3 in Boston while still so sick you had to walk a bit. Really amazing the differences that time and consistency brings!

Great video. The energy buidling up at a marathon like this is amazing. I was running the Hong Kong Half Marathon this year and from start to finish you have all those runners around and ppl cheering. This is really giving a boost. Gonna run the Full Hong Kong Marathon in Feb2020. Training is on!!! (Following your plan btw 😀)

Congratulations Ben. I run for the Knowsley Harriers and managed to get a place for the VLM this year through our club ballot after only applying for two years, so I was absolutely over the moon. My time wasn’t anywhere near as brilliant as yours but I managed to finished in 5:04:12, gutted I didn’t get under 5 hours but I did well for my first ever marathon. I was doing great till I got to 19 miles and then hit the wall, thought I was going to have to pull out but as you already know the support from the people of London was absolutely overwhelming and that’s what got me to the finish line. I did say NEVER AGAIN at the finish line but I’ve managed to get a place on the Salvation Army for next year, got to beat 5 hours. Congratulations again mate on your amazing achievement, hope your hips doing well.

Well done, great video, though how you can run and talk at the same time is beyond me. I bet there's not much of that Easter egg left. Well done!

Ha ha thanks Mark. Have you seen Ben Parkes’ marathon vlog?! He ran a 2:35 and talked the whole way round!! Now THAT is crazy 😂 yes the poor Easter egg did not last much longer after I stopped recording. RIP Egg.

So great watching other peoples experiences!! Isn't UA-cam amazing?
The marathon was hard and painful but it was amazing to see so many people cheering on runners they’d never met before, handing out orange segments and sweets, high-fiving and giving pep talks (I needed a few)!
My time was 4.33 which I’m pretty happy with considering my legs gave up on me at around 14 miles. Can’t believe I got myself going again. There were certainly a few moments where I thought I couldn’t do it, but the elephants and the crowds got me through.
Here's a video of my experience...

Not sure I will do it again as my knees were and are in a lot of pain, but I am SO glad I crossed that finish line. An incredible experience.
Loads of love to you and well done xxx

Shannon Palmer thanks Shannon. You must really like my video if you watched it/commented at 2 different times!! Either that or it wasn’t memorable at all! I can’t decide 😉😂
