1) We need Z90 aka D500 equivalent with 26-33 MP stacked APSC sensor which has 20 fps at least … don’t need Z9H … 20 fps on Z8/Z9 is more than sufficient 2) Z6 iii - yes need lower end full frame cameras with AF like Z8 and Z9
Nikon already has Z500/Z90 ... just place a DX stacked sensor into the Z5 body, and we are set 😉 it will solve battery life issues and 2 cad slots issues, and it will give you a slightly better ergo than z50 has. Love Z50 thought. We just need to ressurect the APS-C lineup. Nikon pleeeease 🤣
I have a nice fact for you. I compared the Nikon 50mm 1.8, Sigma 50mm 1.4, Nikon 85mm 1.8, Nikon 85mm 1.2 and Sigma 85mm 1.4 (Sigmas on a Sony a7IV), and the Sigmas looked 90% as the Nikon-1.8-Versions 😁 I didn't compare the 35s, because I rarely use 35mm.. I had to buy a whole new system last summer and I thought about switching to Sony also because of the Sigma lenses... then I tried them and 200% happily sticked with Nikon 😁
Given the age of the Z6ii, coupled to its popularity, I think the biggest sales and volume of happy users will be with the Z6iii. The Z9 is amazing just now, but many Z6ii owners feel they're missing out on a better autofocus system....I have to work mine hard to get a lock in low light situations, my Z8 is ridiculously better.
I'm hoping the Z6III will be similar sensor as Z6II with AF closer to Z8/Z9 and i will pre order as my new backup. Z9 as primary with Z6II as backup and occasionally for low light shooting. Looked at Zf to replace Z6II, but the low # of function buttons makes me concerned about ease of use.
@@Geert890I love the Z6II for static shots, but was very unhappy with the AF when shooting anything moving somewhat fast. Bought a Z9 late 22 to fix that, but think the Z6II had cleaner images.
The Z6III is more important to the bottom line than a Zh right now. Nikon, with a few exceptions, has been targeting sales numbers with their releases so I would expect them to continue that strategy. They need to maximize revenue to support their acquisitions and investments in new facilities. I am skeptical that a global shutter camera will be coming anytime soon from Nikon especially given the feedback around the a9 III.
Hello. Nikon, give some love to DX. We need a new DX model. Z50 needs replacement. It's great little thing, but it needs refresh. For the better DX body, you do not need anything else, than put DX sensor into Z5... you already have dual SD, IBIS, EN-EL15... just place a new stacked DX sensor inside and i will be happy 🤣 love you all. Have a great day.
Now that Nikon has purchased RED Camera, I think it's safe to say that Nikon has big plans for the video/cinema world. I like the Zf specifications, but I would prefer it in a more modern body. I have high hopes for the Z6iii in that regard. Congrats on the award, my friends!
There a rumour on the ground thats going around a Nikons secret squirrel concept unit at Thiland's Z9 assembly plant has a Z9 M1 prototype , with a curved RED sensor that was purchased from RED some time ago , that is 100MP no rolling shutter and has 12 K movie capabilities 15 stops DR, 100MP stills that has four different MB file sizes . M is for Nikon first Movie orientated built in professional Gripped Mirrorless .
No problem with Pentax K3 without any of the new mirrorless features and at a fraction of the price. D500 and D850 are still capable of taking any shot you want if you're prepared to learn how to use them properly.
Where is the 35mm f/1.2? This has been announced for a long time while the Z6III has not even been mentioned by Nikon.

D6 has not yet been updated. Megapixel and price point would point to that (D6 6500 USD, Z9 5500 with infinite higher specs). Also R3 is a low megapixel and fast camera (and 6500 USD). A9 similar. Thus, a Zh 6500 USD would make sense. Of course a Z6iii and a Z80/90 are also highly needed.
Nikon is to be commended for its commitment to providing substantial firmware updates for their cameras! That goes a long way toward keeping me satisfied with my purchases and happy to expand my investment in the Z system.
The source for Zh could be credible if they are somehow connected to sony imaging division. All they need to know is that they have an order for A9iii sensors. Or just confirm that the A9iii sensor is available for sale. I would normally expect that Sony would keep their newest sensor for themselves for at least a year or two but if it is a low enough production volume sensor they could release it to Nikon early to recoup development costs.
Sony Camera and Sony Corp are two different entities. Sony Camera has many sub suppliers of parts and then they assemble the final Sony camera. Sony Corp produces sensors for various camera companies (Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, etc. In conjunction with Sony Sensor division. So none of the camera companies posmach or one another. Raymond
Nikon need to release an actual decent apsc camera. Sigma aren't gonna be impressed with sales of the lenses if no ones buying apsc nikons. Their focus seems to be all over full frame, Nikon need to release a z90 & Zfc II with a selection of new apsc specific lenses like 12 of them from popular 1.4 primes to good quality zooms. It'd easily compete with Fuji xt-5 and such.
I love my Z6ii, beautiful files, great high ISO shots etc it's only the tracking that's the problem. The Expeed 6, even 2 of them can't cope with the very high levels of data for a modern very fast tracking system but as my second camera it is still an amazing camera, it does need a more traditional approach to bird photography etc.
Come on, we need a new flagship with less than 46mpx sensor! We are tired of buying more hard drives for storage. The beauty in image quality is between 12 and 20mpx!
A Z50 II obviously. Bring IBIS, a higher resolution, better video and AF to crop sensor bodies, like yesterday, Nikon. Oh, and give us some bloody useful lenses for it as well. I mean at least they aren't Canon that lock the mount and then don't make any lenses to completely screw their customers, but still.
Point for discussion. Do you think that Nikon are holding off announcing the Z6iii so as not to cannibalise Z8 sales. It strikes me that many shooters that are looking to buy the Z8 (like me) might be holding off until they see the Z6iii specs ? The Z8 is a little over spec’d for me but I still might buy it
Which body will sell more of? Seems a simple question knowing how many customers are out there waiting for the Z6iii to land, myself included, but for a different reason.
Definitely need an updated Z50 or a new APSC camera. I love my ZFc for travel and street (I also own Z7, Z8, and Z9) and with the Viltrox 75mm F1.2 it takes amazing portraits. But, need to update the viewfinder, the resolution, and add IBIS.
Since you guys mentioned in one of your latest videos the Nikon DL I can't get them out of my mind! What a missed opportunity! I hope they will eventually make something like those and not the Nikon Z10, 11, H which is not for our budget.
Congratulations Grays of Westminster!! 👏🏻👏🏻 That interview was quite interesting and promising. Nikon has welcomed 3rd party lens manufacturers. Nikon is the best party in this game. They hold their cards tight to their chest. With the Z6III will they wait till the fall? As it would be a huge seller in that holiday season, Like they did with the Zf? Have a great week Becky and Kon! 📷☕️
The Z9 and Z8 are simply brilliant cameras and those working at the Olympics will get some stunning results. I'm going to be working for Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby in April at the Quad Nations in Cardiff. Team GB will be competing as part of the build up to defending their title in Paris - I can't wait to see how my Z8 and Z9 perform. I have the rest of the Gallagher Premiership and Investec Champions Cup this season to enjoy with both cameras too.
You are wrong about pixel shift in LR or Camera Raw - both can't combine the nef files to a high-res nefx, just work with the nefx files (well, there is a plugin for LR which can do, but not an official function in LR, CR or PS). You still have to combine in NX Studio....
Bring on the 3rd party 1.4's. The Nikon 1.2's are too big. I have upgraded my Z6's to a Z8 and while the focusing is amazing and the files in okay light are sublime it is so big and doesn't bring me the same joy to use so it may be a trade down.
Real question. Why so people care about Sigma? Tamron has the same if not better image quality + weather sealing + better image stabilization. What's going on?
Thanks guys! The Zfc firmware is already out, but I did have to enable “startup screen” in the setup menu, to see the effects seen in Matt Irwin’s video. Sadly they do not show up in the viewfinder.
Nice that Adobe added support for pixel shift for the Z 8 but I can't Tether the Z 8 in Lightroom with my new matchbook pro. Nikon Canada told me tethering is always one of the last things they support sometimes taking a year or even longer. on a positive Note I had a 300$ savings on my purchase of the Nikon 85 1.2 here in Canada :) Enjoy your show and recently signed up for your Nikon Owners Magazine in hard copy :) cheers from Montreal Canada .
Of course Nikon just released firmware 1.60 for the Zfc after you guys recorded this vid….. Keep making vids like this so that Nikon will immediately follow your vid with more releases…
Heads up Nikon ... I have simply lost the will to live waiting for the Z7iii ... so it's goodbye! My new Sony A7RV is absolutely astounding ... I won't be coming back.
Feeling same about DX lineup. I still have Z50, but also I got a6700... autofocus department is just miles apart. Still loving ergonomics of Nikom better. I would love to se Expeed 7 with new stacked sensor in next DX camera... 😊
Out of interest what made you choose the A7RV Vs the z7 ii or potential z7 iii? I'm tempted to buy the Z7 ii.. but ideally would like Pixel shift and I've not heard if Nikon will include this in a firmware update (or if this is even possible). Many thanks,
60 mp yields jaw droppingly detailed files, AND the option of heavy cropping. Sigma's 105mm Macro Art is without doubt the best lens I have ever owned and pretty much stays on the camera as it's so incredibly versatile. Main reason was a smaller and lighter combination for travel. Note: Despite what you may read the Sony's ergonomics are excellent and the menu system is a doddle. Way too many cut and paste reviews out there! Also, I needed a camera THIS year, the Z7iii looks to be on hold until who knows when?! And, should the Z7iii arrive next week I've still made the right decision, too much dicking around from Nikon these days ... just look at the ridiculous overlap between the Z9 and the Z8, and this is straight from the heart because I also own a Z9! Cheers, Steve

Agree with both. I am waiting for Z6iii myself. Nice to what a z90 looks like, could be popular also.
1) Bring it on!

We neeeeed the Z6III, I was hoping at CP+ but it didn't happen...come one Nikon!
We NEED the sigma 1.4 primes. 35, 50, 85 first please. They would sell like hot cakes not sure what is taking so long.

Yeah it makes no sense a Zf is a better buy than Z6ii in terms of AF
Great response, I am a Z6II owner and contemplating selling my Z6II to the Z6III or Z8. I am very happy with the Z6II but need a faster FPS.
I'm hoping the Z6III will be similar sensor as Z6II with AF closer to Z8/Z9 and i will pre order as my new backup.

@mizshellytee Agreed. I'm still rocking Sigma 18-35 f1.8 via FTZ, and I'm happy with it. Except weight 😅
Could it be Nikon is holding the Z6iii in order to hopefully draw out more sales of the ZF?

Z9H prior to the Olympics. Must happen
