      No, not kudos to ALL of the pilots, only, most of them. Who’s the moron from WorldWide asking how long the delay is going to be? IDK, let me check my delay list under, “man on wing.” Really? This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy. I mention that there is a problem on the airport for whatever reason, and no one is moving. Two seconds later, some idiot calls me ready for taxi. Do you not listen to what’s happening on frequency before you call? Ugh! I’m sorry, I know I should be more patient with pilots, but some things just grind my gears. ‘Is there flow time to LGA, JFK, ATL? ‘ You’re kidding, right? Maybe my expectations are just unrealistically high.
      My rant is now over.

    • @josephdale69
      @josephdale69 4 роки тому +41

      @@MilkBoy17520 I disagree. I’m a Captain at a major airline in the United States. This was a plane on the active runway with a crazy passenger on top of the wing, the last thing I would want to do is an intersection departure in front of the plane. With your jet blast blowing on all of the police behind the departing plane.
      There is nothing to explain to the company. The controller told them what was going on. The pilots most likely had a commute to catch after they landed. If you think this was a smart move, you are even a bigger idiot. The guy on the wing could have been a terrorist or armed and the last thing you would want to do is move closer.
      The only explaining they would have to do is if ATC approved their departure.

    Interesting the voice of the pilot in Southwest 4712 (from 1:26) sure sounded like the pilot (Tammie Jo Shults) who lost an engine and had to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia (one fatality from when the engine exploded & pierced the cabin - flight crew did an amazing job in that incident..).

    I'm genuinely curious to know how he got up on the wing. As commercial planes are HUGE, and their wings are high off the ground. Must be one hell of a climber

    • @matthewwilson5019

      Umm my guess is the engine possibly because the pilot had shut down the engines so climbing up on them would be no problem im assuming

    I think that Southwest at the beginning was the same pilot that had the engine explosion while midair with a person that flew out the window, or at least has a very similar voice

      I worked reservations for a major airline and flew a lot of non-rev (free but standby) flights from PHX to SBA...only about a 90 min flight. Many times I heard the flight attendants joke, "Smoking is prohibited on all our flights. Failing to comply with crew instructions or tampering with smoke detectors will get you a seat on the wing, where our inflight movie will be 'Gone with the Wind'." Always got a few nervous "heheheh"s out of everyone!

      @@RLTtizME I know "in a minute" means "soon", but at 3:12 Tower said "about a(?) minute - 45 seconds. 45 seconds." That's phrased as an ETA and he confirmed 45 seconds. At 4:47 metro police's already in place but at 5:37, Tower said "law enforcement is en route there", which would have been 2 minutes+ since 3:12, given that the video might have also trimmed some silence.
