I am upgrading to a GT , with rudder , and following year add the Bixby motor , then it is a truly awesome Kayak , for me mainly river fishing the GT has more manoverability , speed is not an issue , I don't need a reload for marginal speed , l am not keen on going out to see far , and only in calm deep coastal waters where you do not need to get out far. I also will be combining camping so the GT has great storage
I just put a Garmin Striker 5 on my Hammerhead Kayaks Bull Shark. First fish finder on a kayak, and so far, I'm really liking it! Wanna try a pedal drive for way less than most?...try Hammerhead Kayaks! The Bull Shark, Tiger Shark, or 2nd generation Whale Shark would suit! I bought the Bull Shark because it has interchangeable fin and propeller drives, but for a saltwater guy, the Tiger Shark or next generation Whale Shark (coming soon! 13.5' long with a 37" beam!) would be a better fit. The owner, Eddie Murphy, (no, not THAT Eddie Murphy!) is in Theodore, Alabama, and I stopped by to meet and talk to him week before last. I can honestly say that if everyone did business like Eddie, the world would be a better place! BTW...The Bull Shark, with BOTH drives and cartridges for them was still less than $2K out the door, and Eddie's customer service is second to none! I took your advice, Blane, and bought the Strapinno ratchet straps (love them, btw!), take mine and drop by and talk to Eddie sometime...good video for you and good advertising for him...win-win! Stay safe!

Vikings are known for their quality and performance. I personally find Old towns just 'bloated'.
How’s the stability with the upgraded raised seat?
I’m not sure? Great question..

At $2k you can’t beat the Old Town Salty PDL for off shore. I slayed the red snapper this past season on mine
Standard seat better for ocean.
