No entiendo porque cuando uno va a comprar un instrumento de estos, en el almacén lo encuentra desafinado...en la mayoría de estos vídeos de fábricas veo que siempre los afinan?
Rhythmista I do agree with you on that. Some of those burl lava ruby reds are amazing. But truth be told I don't care for the company or the $ for the sound you get.
The managers like "oh there's cameras... I'm gonna pretend like I have anything to do with the daily work that goes on here" lol The employees are like "just... go back to your office and lemme do my damn job" lol
A tour of the factory, not a tour of the manufacturing process. This showed me nothing but pretty drums and router tables. How are their shells made? Reinforcement rings put in? Sanding and different finishes applied? If I were to go by this “factory tour”, I’d not buy this brand.
In the beginning of this video the guy who sands the shell to make sure the bearing edges are flat took 3 seconds, ONLY 3 SECONDS! and he didn't even check it on a piece of granite. He just walk's right over and tooled the bearing edge. For the price you pay on an upper end sonar kit they better take more time in quality control than what I just saw. Is anybody else shocked or is it just me? Some of those finishes are so beautiful. Like those Lava Mapa Burl ruby fade. But then they get to where he's tuning the drum using 1960s late 60s equipment it's just ridiculous give me a break
Looks like Bobs drum factory.lol Great sounding drums though. Small factory but maybe that's better cause every piece that comes out of there is given the attention they need.
not their governments fault that people in europe and north america can´t even afford their own stuff... also tama showed their chinese production which as far as i can see no other company did. the chinese factory looked good as well. judging from this i would rather buy a cheap tama than a cheap sonor.
Looks very old, outdated and unimpressive, to be honest! I played some Sonor kits and they’re nothing special. They’re snares are really nice. I remember, wanting to buy a snare from a Delite kit, like 15 years ago and the owner of the Drum Shop wouldn’t sell the snare, separate from the kit. Too bad! The kit wasn’t anything special but the snare was exceptional!
Beautiful kits, wish the music was lower, I wanna hear the talking..... still thumbs up!
That red tribal finish is gorgeous.
Interesting article, but the music gave me headache.
just awsome!!!!!wow nice, the drum room in the end was the best part!
Awesome ... thx for putting this online !
Sonor in drums is like Mercedes in cars.. so classy.
Un gran trabajo para un gran sonido precioso acabado
sonor has always had the best crazy finishes
Great tour vid. i started drooling when i saw the benny greb snares. i want one soo bad.
Thanks, I hope to go there some day....
Nice people at Sonor! I have a Sonic Plus II kit.
@ironcobra8 Could not resist, one of the all time greats.

Yep. Walked straight to it, as you can see in the video. Kinda funny, hit every drum, let them ring. Sonor is truly the Drummer's drum.
I've never seen an "ugly" finish on any Sonor drum.. They're all eye candy..

was that danny carey's kit at 8:58?
lindo trabajo amigos....me encantaria poder aprender a trabajar asi como ustedes,me encanta la percucion
how they get that veneer?
tenho uma Sonor meu sonho conhecer a fabrica
The managers like "oh there's cameras... I'm gonna pretend like I have anything to do with the daily work that goes on here" lol The employees are like "just... go back to your office and lemme do my damn job" lol
Haaa lol
Epic tour!!!

Ross Gillis watch the first video
Very good job
Next time my buddy goes to Germany on business , i'm going with him..........

How dare you sir! "Bessie" the oscillator is a Sonor shop legend!
There's no way they mass produce here! It looks like a fake tour?
I was there on a Friday when a lot of the workers had already gone (Germans take their off time VERY seriously). I assure you it's a real factory.
Espetacular!
this is paradise!!!!!
Why?
i believe these are only high end drums ? majority are made in china.
Looks like Bobs drum factory.lol Great sounding drums though. Small factory but maybe that's better cause every piece that comes out of there is given the attention they need.
Huh,..... The DW factory tour was so much more informative and comprehensive!
Benny Greb signature snare drum, gaaaahh.
Best drums made! /comments
@pjreynoldssa1 the DW factory was probably more informative because they weren't trying to speaking in a non-native language! Hahah. Sonor for life!
ChordxClient English is the universal language. You might want to remember that.
Yeah they stick make great drums, guys like steve smith, gavin harrison and benny greb wouldnt use them otherwise
yes one day you will be mine
i got 3 :D
I buy Sonor because its made in Germany.
I buy TAMA because their made in communist China
not their governments fault that people in europe and north america can´t even afford their own stuff... also tama showed their chinese production which as far as i can see no other company did. the chinese factory looked good as well. judging from this i would rather buy a cheap tama than a cheap sonor.
ah ha ha ha, yeah ok.....
This is why Thomas Lang left these guys
Thomas left these guys for money and marketing...

German manifactur . . . actient :D
Meh, they sound quite good. But IMO they look too cheap.
