Hey it's the Norbert Hannig mission in when he was in the Training Gruppe; Twelve 190s and 12 Me 109s having to tangle with an isolated raid 'somewhere ins Silesia'--but this time it's done right (in real life the 109s saw the 190s & immediately tried to 'bounce' them, totally disrupting the majority of the mission.
Nicely portrays the absolute chaos of air combat on the western front! ^^ But where were the 109's mentioned in the description? I sometimes saw more than 12 friendlies on the screen before the attack, but once the action started they were nowhere to be seen... I always thought that in such a mixed 190 A/109 attack, the 109's would try to keep at least some of the fighters busy while the 190's do their thing, but it looked like the Mustangs were all over you after the first few attacks. Did the AI 109's just spectacularily fail, or did they actually do their job and you would have been swarmed by even more P-51's if they hadn't been there? I'm a bit confused... a few scenes showing the 109's would probably have helped with grasping what's going on. xD By the way, what were your A-8's armed with? The 3D model looks like you were using the standard armament because of the long barrels on the outer wing guns, but I saw yellow tracers from them multiple times. That and the fact that the outer wing guns were out of ammo very quickly would suggest that those guns were 30mm MK 108's instead, and that you were flying A-8/R2's.
Thank you :) AFAIK the 109s immediately engaged in fights with the Mustangs. There are 8 109s and 16 Mustangs in the beginning, so it's normal that not all Mustangs were engaged. The dogfighting AIs usually disappear from view fast, because AI engagements cost a lot of altitude, quickly. After a few minutes they are pretty much on the deck and nowhere to be seen again. And you are right, we did use the A-8/R2 setup with 50% fuel :)
Hey Fishyy I love the content on your channel. However I to am a user of the Logitech Extreme 3D and I was wondering what sensitivity levels you have setup for it. I understand that from what I read the sensitivity is all personal preference, but I thought I would just ask you for a general in the ballpark kind of setup you have for this particular joystick.
The landscape textures in this video are the best I've seen for IL-2 1946, at least in my opinion. This is the version I want.

Even if the P51's don't get you, they are pretty effective in preventing a turkey shoot by their mere presence.
German Luftwaffe fighters like bf 109s fw 190s, etc took a toll on USAAF bombers like b17s and b24s until escort fighters like p51s came to the rescue
Whenever a Focke Wulf 190 takes off, you know it'll be good.

Do you only have Visual Mod 8? I installed it using JSME after installing Modact 5.3 and my game still looks awful compared with yours
