I would say so, you'll most likely have photography classes that are known as "beginner" like black and white film, digital photography I and II. But I would start playing around with a camera before college, so you have an idea of what it's like and if you'll enjoy it!
During your time at college, you can be looking for internships. Depending in what career field in photography you like (portrait, sports, news photography etc.) will determine the jobs that you will be looking for after college. You can always ask your college advisor/ photography teachers for help. You are going to need some type of DSLR camera for college. The most popular one is Canon EOS cameras. You can always find other brands or camera bundles online.
@@AlienArleth How much do these costs? I have never owned one because i just recently started thinking about being photographer you know i told myself this is my dream i wanna give it a try. These seem really expensive.
I'd say to be open-minded about all types of photography and to start photographing something that interests you but also try to get out of your comfort zone.
It's hard to say if you will or will not find a job after college. While you are studying in college, It's good to make connections and try to get internships. Also, I know my college has a career and professional development center which will help students obtain a job. I would find out if your college has that or talking to your counselor that may know resources.
