Definitely concerned about the direction of The Way Home. We watched the first season last year, and were so excited to see season 2 and how they were gonna fill in some of the questions. We were so disappointed when they introduced the non-binary. We didn’t finish the episode, and not sure if we will continue watching the rest of the season. Our kids are grown now, but we pretty much followed the same guidelines you have for your family. It’s difficult in this culture to raise kids in a godly manner, but trust me, God will honor these choices and you will never regret raising them with these standards. God bless you and your family.
The Waltons! TV show I watched as a kid and still love to watch. It was so clean the network didn't think it would succeed in the 1970s but it did. The whole family could enjoy it.
We started watching the Waltons recently. In the first season, I think there were four or five curse words. We finally gave up. 😞
Also I was sad to find out IRL Grandma and Grandpa Walton were both gay. 😬
@@RebeccaAnnette Really? I didn't know that...
Also, there were many references to...marriage... you know. Plus, the writing is terrible.
My kids loved the entire When calls the Heart
The Narnia series is great ... The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Yay!!!!! Someone mentioned our top family favorite movie trilogy ever!!! (The early 2000s movies, not the BBC version-ughh). Wasn't going to mention because some people may not want younger kids watching the fight/battle scenes. The duel in Prince Caspian is rough. Most of our pets are named after characters from Narnia! My cat, Mr. Tumnus is meowing at my window right now. :)
I agree! However, if someone is sensitive to God's name being taken, don't watch Dawn Treader
@@servantrose Aslan *is* supposed to be the Lion of Judah! CS Lewis was a Christian. In his books there are many many references and similarities to the Bible and even Christ! Aslan's country = Heaven, hence Aslan telling Caspian if he goes, "...there is no return." I love that they didn't take out any Christian aspects in the movies and even added a bit! In the movie Prince Caspian, did you notice that Peter denied Aslan 3 times? Also in the movies and books Susan is supposed to represent Martha and Lucy ; Mary Magdalene. Edmund is Judas and Peter is Simon Peter. ☺
We love All Creatures Great and Small. I drull over the aprons that Mrs. HALL WEARS.
I LOVE APRONS!
We just rewatched Ann of Green Gables.
And we watch all the movies we watch on a DVD.
WE RENT MOVIES FROM OUR LOCAL LIBRARY!
You mean Anne - with an E, lol. :)
So glad you mentioned Anne of Green Gables 1985!!! Definitely a family favorite for sure!!
Another trilogy my family and I love is-
'Sarah, Plain and Tall' (1991)
('Skylark' is the second and 'Winter's End' is the third)
The author of the books was involved in the film so it is literally word-for-word. Really enjoy these films as a family and highly recommend!
Oh the new annE of green gables is so great ! Check that out too!
@@MearnieToon I will! Though Megan Follows will aways be Anne to me! :) I adore Richard Farnsworth as Matthew Cuthbert, he is so sweet! And come on, no one else will ever be Gilbert Blythe to me either!! The 1985 will always be the best version ever!!!!!😄
Back in the day, before YT and social media and all that stuff, we would listen to Adventures in Odyssey on the radio every Saturday morning! To this day, I still listen to it and my adult children do too! Since Candace Cameron Bure’s company bought Pure Flix, they are starting to generate more family oriented movies and shows. We are discovering PragerU and DailyWire Movies and Children based shows also. As long as the shows are clean, inspiring, positive and uplifting, we will watch them, if they deviate from Godly principals then we won’t watch or recommend them, even if they are “clean”.
Oh my goodness! You listen to A.I.O. too? A family tradition for us every cold winter evening is to bake a treat and then listen to an episode when it comes on the air!! Wow. Not happy with some episodes, some are downright uncomfortable. For something that is for 8-12 year olds, you shouldn't have episodes where the parent or guardian should listen with you. They should only have episodes teaching about Jesus, good morals, telling the truth, obeying, etc.
The 1965 "Sound of Music" is great as a family film as well! So is Disney's 1964 "Mary Poppins"!! We grew up with these two films!
Love all the clean recommendations. It’s hard to find clean entertainment nowadays so thanks for sharing.
Another clean movie that is so so cute is “Mr. Malcolm’s List”
Definitely worth a watch
I agree that Little women 1994 is the best one. I just rewatched it this Christmas. Also thanks to your recommendation I found shadowlands free on UA-cam and I will be watching it!
Thank you, Cami! I’m looking forward to delving into your list. Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark, & Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium come to my mind immediately.
I have seen all of these tv series. I watched the older version of Creatures Great and Small. They made a Little Women in 1933 and I have that one as well as two newer versions. I also have the series of The Waltons and love them.
I wanted to note that someone in the comments had mentioned getting these at the library, but that they may not have them. I work at a library and definitely ask them to order these movies or series and they will if they’re available.
We love the 1949 version of "Little Women". "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House". "Life With Father". "Heaven Can Wait". "Meet Me in St.Louis". These are from the 1940's and most have a colorized versions. A lot of great and clean films from that era.
This is a great list! Thank you for reminding me how much I loved Lark Rise to Candleford. I'm excited to check your other suggestions out!
As far as inspirational, my favorite would be Making Good on BYU TV. (It's a free streaming service online.) I always come away with greater hope in humanity and commitment to be better. You could pick and choose episodes, but I would just start at the beginning.
I'm looking forward to referring to your blog post regularly. Thanks for working on this, Cami!
Ace Wonder was a very clean and good movie our family enjoyed several years back. And even though Andy Griffith is B&W, our children love it.
The Chosen is the only thing I’ve watched in the last four years that I enjoyed that is family friendly.
Redeeming Love was beautiful and uplifting. But it’s not for the kiddos.
Just commented how much we’ve enjoyed The Chosen! Just took my kids to see it in theaters.
Christy is so amazing!
Road to avonlea
What a refreshing episode Cami. Great ideas. Will check out Signed Sealed Delivered and a couple of others. Loved Finding You and the Hundred Foot Journey as well. As a Canadian have seen Anne of Green Gables many times. The series you referred to is best and the actress who played Anne is now a producer and director. Your family should make a summer trip to Prince Edward Island. The beaches are beautiful, the people of this province so warm and friendly.
I am so glad you enjoyed the episode!! Glad you found a couple to add to your watchlist. My son and I just studied Prince Edward Island for a homeschool project and now I am just dying to go someday!!! Definitely on the bucket list. Thanks for watching!
Fyi, there are full episodes of Christy here on UA-cam.
Yes, I saw those, but wondered if they were approved versions or not. So I hesitated suggesting them. I just love Christy though!
Is there a link to the full episodes?
Have u watched any of the feature films for families movies ,my grown kiddos are still watching them
On UA-cam there is the Brambly Hedge series based on the books. Adorable mice going through the seasons. Also Frog and Toad episodes.
Thank you! This is SO needed! Really appreciate you taking the time to make the lists & sharing with us!
I love that this matters to you also!
There is a lot of free Christian based movies on UA-cam. There are some very good movies.
The Von Trapp Family have a lodge in Stowe, Vermont that you would probably love.
Great Topic Cami! We recently enjoyed watching Highway To Heaven with Michael Landon and Victor French, Little House On The Prairie, Andy Griffith, and The Waltons(I repeat the first seasons, when the cast were mostly children. As they get older, tread with more caution when watching episodes. Content not always suitable for younger audience.)
Christy is a true story about Catherine Marshall's mother . i do have the book and i got the dvd series. Thank you for the video.
this was great!! Love love this content!!
Thank you, thank you!! We share the same morals
Glad to hear it Ramona! I always have loved your comments so it makes sense! Ha!
Ooh, thank you so much! I have almost stopped watching tv altogether. So tired of getting into a movie or series and having to bail out because of offensive content. I've been a fan of All Creatures Great and Small for decades, beginning with the original series and now the current one. I love that I now have a list that I can work from that are already pre-screened! Love it!
Right there with you! It gets so discouraging when you try and try and keep running into the filth. The list I am creating is definitely a work in progress, so let me know if you find some good ones too!
The Inheritance 1997 drama by Alcott...so good.Merideth Baxter .Christy is on UA-cam
I saw that years ago and loved it too! It's on my blog list. I saw Christy on UA-cam but wondered if it was a "stolen" version, basically. So I hesitated to recommend it. I just love that series!
Christy is also a book! Great read. :)
We love Anne of Green Gables, Anne with an “E”, & Little House of course. Thank you for this list.
The best classics of all time!
Big thumbs down 👎 for "ANNE with an E". First season was OK, but wow, second season was a big disappointment and shock. Would never let my kids watch. Nothing close to the original Anne of Green Gables story. Read Plugged-In review for details.
Love all the other Anne of Green Gables movies. 💕
After listening to the audiobooks of the Little House series the tv show was ruined for me. Also it was Micael Landon who insisted on all the shirtless scenes which doesnt bother me but not true to the real Pa.
We read the finding you for my book club and then I watched the movie. It is different from the book but similar. Cute little film!
A good movie I found over the Christmas season was “Samantha-An American Girl Holiday” on UA-cam. It was so heartwarming and a beautiful ending. I can watch Christmas movies year round. There are other American Girl movies on UA-cam but I haven’t watched them yet.
American Girls has had some good movies, their books are even better in my opinion, the older ones anyways!
Thank you so much. My husband and I like to watch detective shows (mainly BBC) but really appreciate some of these feel good, clean ones as well. Some of your list we have seen but a lot I have never heard of so we'll be checking them out.
Thank you for this! I loved love comes softly but got the bon trapps on my list to watch with my hisband hopefully soon. A lot of others also
I think you will love the Von Trapp movie! Thanks a ton for watching my newest video!
Thank you so much for the list. This is a wonderful service you've provided. I suggest everyone looking at their public library for these titles. I live in Georgetown, TX, and our public library has many of the titles on your list.
What a good idea! I wish I would have remembered to suggest that. Thank you!
Also know that you can ask your library to get these if they’re not already there.
Anne of Green Gables the 80’s version is by far is my favorite, Road to Avonlea is great too. We’ve been watching Little House on Prairie we all love. Larkrise to Candleford is great, so is Call the Midwife, and Downtown Abbey.
Downton Abbey has its own agendas. We stopped watching it.
@@MindfulMusings1 Yes. Because of shaunalea's comment, I thought I would try Downton Abbey. I was really hoping for a new -clean - period film to watch that was not the over dramatic Hallmark films. Ohhhh. I nearly threw up when *that* guy (you know who) was on screen.
@@sewmuchjoy Try looking here on YT, there are history channels that go into detail about the time period, there is Victorian Farm and probably other period shows from PBS that will be family friendly.
The only TV show left that I will watch (and absolutely love from the beginning) is When calls the heart.
Thank you for this!! We are in the same boat with 4 teens and can’t find anything to watch!
Thank you for sharing!
You are most welcome!
some movies that i have enjoyed is Netflix Persuation, 13 going on 30, pollyanna, the ultimate gift, Mr malcolms list , the help, surprised by oxford, pride and prejudice, bride and prejudice, the prince and me , king and i , happiness for beginners
Here is some recommendations that I have enjoyed that are relatively clean: Sue Thomas FBI, Heartland, Murder she wrote, Bill Cosby, free rein, monk, indian doctor, timeless, good witch, downtown abby, sweet magnolias , chesapeake shores, the chosen, a thousand tomorrows, apalcolo,
At home in Mitford was a nice surprise and rated G. I also saw "The last time we spoke" very good! and it ends right.
What a fun video. Can't Wait to watch these and check out the others on your list. Thank you.

PBS did some interesting reality shows where they had modern families live where n different eras like pioneer, victorian, etc... I think it was Pioneer House....I dont remember for sure.
Love Lark Rise to Candleford... it's amazing
Thanks for sharing. Loved those shows. Here are a few more. Rigoletto, butter creamer gang, no more baths, those are all focus on the family I believe. Ruby and the well, there is shows on Amazon prime from the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints about their leader and how it began that we loved.
Thank you for reminding me of all those! Rigoletto is one of our favorites!
Peaches For Christmas is a good clean movie on youtube. ❤.
There are some channels here on YT that only play clean films, I think one is Encourage TV.
Oh Cami!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. There were a few that you listed that are my favorites. I will definitely check out the blog, for the ones that I hadn’t heard of. Finally, that sweatshirt is the loveliest. Let me know when & if, it shows up on your shop. 😉Thank you for always sharing.
So glad to hear it Rosa! Thanks for noticing the sweater! Yes, they will be listed soon. I've been working to get them perfect and can't wait to release them and have us wear our role loud and proud!
On a different note, i need that sweatshirt!
Haha! You are very observant! I am releasing them soon with lots of color options! I can't wait!
Depending on your sensitivity, the Prince of Persia is a great movie! There is some violence so be careful of that but nothing outrageous.
These are some oldies but goodies: the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and The Inheritance (based on a novel by Louisa May Alcott. Also the author of Little Women.
Relative Race is really fun!
A few more 😉 ...

Its so hard to find anything to watch without cursing, even cartoons or animated. Sexual content is beyond ridiculous also! Violence is overtaking movies and even weekly shows. I basically watch HGTV or Utube videos, that's about it. My husband watches the fishing, hunting, animal programs, those type things. Our kids are grown but we don't like the trash in our home, so to speak. We also like the more christian related/based movies, which aren't on regular TV. There are some made by a church we enjoy. Thank you for sharing your list, I'll definitely have to check some out!
I can relate to everything you said!! I find myself sitting down with youtube videos more and I really like the Magnolia network shows. They have so many great values and messages. But finding clean cinema for my family is a top priority for me, so that when the leave home they will be able to discern for themselves - knowing how good you feel after watching clean tv. I loved your comment so much! Thanks for spending time with me today Tammy!
hey girl- thank you so much for the recommendations😀These look really good! Have a wonderful day🥰
We watch The Chosen, little house on the prairie, Anne of green gables, just add magic, highly recommend Front of the Class!! It’s a hallmark movie, probably the best I’ve seen. The wilderness family is really good.
Chesapeake shores is pretty good as well.
If you can watch it first so you know when to mute out the two swear words and there’s one scene that is suggestive and totally unnecessary, I highly recommend the Movie Wonder. The book is excellent!!
My girls loved Finding you!
Also this recommendation is just for 18+ only because of what happened, but I think Society of the snow is a phenomenal movie. I might get flack but it’s a movie that will stay with me for a long time in an inspiring way.
Love this!!! I have been feeling like I want to have more uplifting shows to watch with my family so I really appreciate you putting this together! I will check out your blog post!
The Hill a wonderful movie true story.
Oh thank you!!! Adding that to my watchlist and am so excited to try it. Just watching the trailer, it looks really good!
We just decluttered our DVDs and one of the sets we absolutely had to keep was the 1985 Anne Of Green Gables series. We actually ordered ours many years ago through CBC Canada. I did not like the Anne With an E series at all. Too much ‘suggestive’ content. Plus, once you’ve seen the other series, nothing else lives up to it. 😃 We also have the Christy series on DVD. 😊🇨🇦☕️
The Castle … it’s an Australian movie. It’s a classic now … BUT, I hope you get the humour … it’s a bit down under! 😂
Does anyone know where I can watch the series The Road to Avonlea in the US?
There are some free episodes on the Sullivan website. But I bought the DVDs on eBay.
Little House on the Prairie- show series
Avonlea- show series
Little House on the prairie!
An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving
An Old Fashioned Christmas
Reading Rainbow
Little Bear
Franklin
I'd love suggestions for more boy-centric content! I have five boys, all the romance stuff still grosses them out and they'll lose interest really fast with a lot of these.
Look for Hardey Boys audio books, the 70's show was clean but definately dated.
Just started watching The Way Home….was really disappointed with them introducing a same sex couple in season 1 episode 4. Pretty early on to, so looks like it’s a no go in watching the rest of the series. Unfortunately this happens a lot with most tv shows now. And we wonder why current generations are confused with gender identity??? Too bad, cause the storyline has been good so far. Thank you for all the other recommendations! Some I’m definitely familiar with. But there were some that I’m gonna check out!! 😊
Yes, I have been disappointed in how it progressed as well. I feel bad I recommended it without watching the rest. It is so hard to find great new stuff, but I am glad you found a few on my list to try.
Great video. Thank you! I encourage you to make more of these!
I have the Christy DVDs they are great but I will say I don’t like sequels.
I watch “This Way Home”. I have loved it, but season two does introduce a non binary teen that goes by they/them. It is somewhat subtle, but as we know, Hallmark has become a company that has to check off all the boxes. Heartland checked off boxes the last few seasons as well. Subtle, but it is there. It is unfortunate because I feel like they suck you in and then have these little disappointments. There’s no reason to add a non binary character except to confuse and check a box that they did that. I am 60. I remember watching completely wholesome stuff growing up, when we did sit down and watch tv as a family. I remember watching Christy too! Now I want to find it.
I am so so thankful to you for these warnings! We actually got into the 5 episode and it got so teen lovey dovey that my 10 year old boy lost total interest (thankfully). I'm starting to worry about that recommendation, especially after what you just said. But I guess I was clear that I hadn't seen it all. It makes me so mad that they have to "check all those boxes" now. I think eventually, it will come back to bite them. But it makes me even more grateful for the movies that keep it clean! Thanks so much for your comment and caution. Truly grateful for your perspective.
@@TIDBITSandCompany , at this point, people are used to LG characters in shows that it doesn't phase anyone anymore. But it truly saddens me that there seems to be an unhealthy pattern to target kids and confuse them, even to a point that they want to alter their beautiful bodies that God gave them.
I think Anne with an E was very in your face. It was so disappointing bc the Anne in this series was great, it was all very blatant bringing in the homosexual element. If it wasn’t for all that I would have loved this version.
The Lux Radio Theater is an excellent, free online series created around the time of WWII. This show invited many original movie cast actors to this program and shortened the script to an hour. Since there is no video, only audio, it is perfect for the time when our hands are busy but we would like a light diversion to make our work light. Delightful! ua-cam.com/play/PLlUoyloCGlWzovaTaxVhZfMH9C0StdA95.html
