  • Sit down with us as we chat about why we decided to quit the corporate world, bring my husband home at age 40, and do our own thing. We will talk about why we made this decision, how we made it happen, what our life looks like now, and answer some questions I've gotten about how we retired at 40.

I truly think you made the right decision, esp. as homeschoolers. I wish my husband and I had made this choice.

Congratulations! I quit my full-time job at 55 and have been seriously working on my blog and You Tube channel for the past year and a half. I actually started a few years ago but never had the time to learn how to do a lot of the technical stuff. Thanks so much for the tips. I love your content. ❤😊

It was one of the best things when my husband retired. I have to say it was a little scary at the beginning but it is working out fine. Our kids are adults and work, but they live with us and we are a happy family. We are so blessed that my husband can do many different things and don't have to pay for someone else to do them. As my hubby says, he has more to do now than when he was working, but he is has less stress and it is on his time. Mr Tidbits will be busy lol. Really happy for you guys.

Glad to have heard a success story! Isn't it amazing how much money you can actually save by doubling your efforts at home. I've been amazed! And yes, he is still very busy and will always have stuff to do, but we don't seem to have that crushing overwhelm feeling that we lived with, in-spite of our best efforts. It all just seems more doable. Sure appreciate your comment! Loved it!

You two are so cute together. It’s so refreshing to see such positive content on Social Media. My husband is a lot like your husband, and I count my self SO blessed! What did we do to deserve such amazing men? I don’t care, I am just so lucky. ( I hear you about your husband being a better housekeeper than you. DITTO! Isn’t it great?)😊🎉

Y'all do what is good for you, and your family. Remember, you decided to take this route because you both were stressed, and worked away from one another/family for long hours. So ride/rely on the parachute because you've jumped. You both are paying attention to your finances. When you find money is tight, make the move to find away to make more money. Until then, live your life exactly the way you dreamed.

wow, if you changed your title to something like how I make money on youtube and brought my husband home or How I made enough money online that my husband quit his job... I'm sure this would have more views. I seriously was not expecting the deets on starting to be a content creator. I am also this but just started this year and still have no views on my blog lol but this encourages me.

I'm a handyman by trade as well though without a degree haha. We really are wizards being able to fix everything.
Dont think I'll ever retire as I grew up watching my old man being a hero that worked 7 to 11 everday but sunday for his family - still somehow beeing around for family time with each moment being a grand event when hes home. A tradition I would like to give to my kids in some shape. We're a family of passionate workaholics haha.
Gah now getting side tracked. I wish you guys well and hope you much success! To Mr. Tidbit ya done made it finding a wife more valuable than jewels, and I hope you have no lack in gain trusting in eachother.

Same here in our home - as my dad calls it, who is 77 and still working two consulting jobs and is engineering in many ways - by training and brain doesn't turn off. Neither does mine. I'm a nurse, but have figured things out that he hasn't! Between both of our creativity and work ethic, we never tire. Dad never missed a beat in coming to any of his tasks, and helped mom too. A good man. The house, yard, homework, indoor and outdoor, sports, etc..and never a complaint. Today's person just can't handle what our parents generation did. I also think, as stressful and overwhelming is healthcare or any traditional job, I'd never want to do "creative content" work at getting ads, support, amazon this and sponsor that. Glad others do, but it's not for me, despite having many trades and practitioner skills between nursing, NFP, preventing and curing covaids/colvid, post-shot help, etc.....pretty "valuable" but ...HATE BIG TEK.....I think we were better off with out all this!! I do not do FB, IG, ABC, DEF, etc. Happily. Keeps me humble :)

@@Jennifer-gr7hn Haha right on to having awesome Pop's! Cool reading your story.
I do worry about the future of the blue collar field. Folks aren't the same kind of humans as back then. Haha guess that just means we best raise our next generation of kids well.
