Lizzie in my opinion is a very accurate depiction of a child that can't cope with the world it lives in and goes into a state of deep psychosis or schizophrenia as a result of the mental trauma. She genuinely believes in what she says because that is the only way she can try to understand what is happening around her. Very tragic and also very real. Fantastic episode.

I agree. It's not like they could keep her locked up to keep everyone safe. And to keep her safe. There was no way to treat her and change her. For everyone's safety, it had to be done. As hard as it is to admit. And poor Carol. But she did what she truly thought was right. No matter how hard it was.
Melissa McBride/Carol won an award for this episode (Saturn Award I think it was) and she deserved it Chad L Coleman/Tyreese was also fabulous I have tears in my eyes now just watching it again It was a very Of Mice And Men tribute in a way I do think that Lizzie might’ve possibly had some kind of schizophrenia (Mental Illness) and with no treatment no medicine no counselling Carol did the only thing that could be done And Yes Carol did feel she didn’t deserve to live and when Tyreese forgave her it was a beautiful scene Your guys reactions were spot on As for Carol she carries it all with her till this day.
It’s sad, if their Society hadn’t had fallen. These two kids would probably have lived full lives. Lizzie would have received the mental help she needed. She probably would have lived a relatively normal life. Mica probably would have became a caretaker or nurse. Helping Lizzie during her days off. I think Tyreese decided not to hurt Carol because he saw what taking another life did to her Carol is not heartless or emotionless Killing Lizzie was a tough decision to make and even tougher to execute Killing Karen and David was probably the same She didn’t make those decisions lightly and her actions (that had good intentions but still bad) weigh heavily on her and cause her so much anguish that she was prepared to die by Tyreese’s hand Tyreese saw that she is human and despite misguided actions has a good heart and a conscious.
Ive been saying since I first ever watched this show, I believe Lizzie had something mentally wrong with her before the apocolypse like childhood schizophrenia (she claimed she could hear the walkers, sounds to me like she was hearing voices). Before the apocolypse she was probably getting treatment but afterwards there was no treatment and began to spiral out of control. And yes that smoke was the shack Beth and Daryl burned down, the group is scattered but they are alot closer to each other then it appears, I mean Michonne followed Rick's and Carl's tracks and found them within like 24hrs. Daryl and Beth came across the same place at the tracks where Tyrese went to help those people he thought may be from the prison and Carol eventually joined him with Lizzie, mica and judith.
That smoke was actually from the house that Daryl and Beth set on fire . It’s showing how close together they all were but apart at the same time . Just all going separate ways. And Lizzie with the mental illness .. she definitely HAD to go 😂
The Blu Ray DVD version had an alternate angle of the Look at the Flowers scene from Tyreese’s POV from the window so we actually see Carol shoot her and see her body fall and react It’s a much more jarring scene IMO makes it seem more impactful but Carol’s face does say SO much when it cuts to her afterwards.
"Just look at the flowers", after all this time it still gives me chills all over. The pain Carol goes through and manages to be strong after that is so delightful. I know normies depict her just as crying dead weight like in earlier seasons, but she's a great example of strong woman. And for a person who lost her own daughter and had to kill the girl who she wanted to raise as second child she took it more than well. I like there's no hope in this, just like Hershel said to Rick. Lizzie and Mica were destined to die or live that miserable life of running, hiding and trying to live in a lie of normal world. Besides, I don't think psychiatrists are that valuable in apocalypse. Even though fans say TV show Tyreese is just shallow and empty compared to comics and I kinda agree with that, I love he's the support and good reliable friend to the Group. And it was very mature of him to forgive Carol for what she has done after all the pain with sisters, probably he was confused and mad at Carol, but he did mature thing letting it go.
Just look at the flowers! This episode is so great and the subtle hints you can see when you rewatch this episode are awesome. Mica tells Carol things her mother told her and Carol uses these sentences on Lizzie. It’s just so awesome and makes the pain even worse.
Yeah, this is the best episode of season 4. I even put this episode in the top 5 episodes of the entire series. Lizzie was already gone mentally just like Carol mentions. Lizzie would've become a psychotic killer in the apocalypse. Honestly, it's a dark episode.

Lizzie is pretty much a character portraying a person within a very minute minority of people in the world that actually have something wrong in their brain that would eventually make them in to a serial killer unless identified at a very early age and helped.
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 Great call on the fire, yes it was the Daryl and Beth fire, they were not to far behind them, my take on it is, Carol and Ty took a right at the tracks and found ‘The Grove’ as Daryl and Beth got to the tracks, unfortunately they decided to go straight across the tracks instead of turning, 👍😀 This was a hard one to watch, poor Mika, RIP Mika (wonderfully played by Kyla Kennedy) and also (not sure she will rip) Lizzie (wonderfully played by Brighton Sharbino) Sad that Carol had to be the one to deal with Lizzy, but between the two, even though it nearly destroyed her, she is the stronger one emotionally, I think it would have destroyed Ty, but seeing how hard it was for her to make the choice she did, made it easier for Ty to forgive her. Definitely a confronting episode! There was literally no other choice though I’ve thought about this a lot and Lizzie was a danger to herself and everyone around her. You would have to tie her up while you slept 🤷🏽♀️ still very sad though especially for Mica 😢
i have to say, when carol shot lizzie was the single happiest and greatest television moment of all time, my cheers were endless, my laughter was infinite and my joy was eternal.
Lizzie is just mentally ill, in normal society she might have been able to take something to make her think rationally but no such luck in the apocalypse. While not the same, I do have a friend that if he doesn't take his medicine he starts speaking gibberish and saying "you don't understand". When on his pill He explained it as everyone around him being slow, his brain goes into overdrive and can't process the information hes getting, hence why he talks gibberish and says "you don't understand. I don't even know the name of it because he doesn't want to talk about it.
People believe Lizzie had schizophrenia and obviously couldnt get it treated which is why she is the way she is and why people dont hate her as a character. Also, since you guys are already passed s9, im just behind, people think Lizzie might have seen a whisperer, which is why she started to think the walkers were people🤷🏻♀️
Please watch Fear the walking dead! Seasons 1-3 take place in the first 3 months of the apocalypse and season 4 takes place sometime after season 8 of the main show.
What Lizzie does is abhorrent and evil. It cannot be forgiven. I can understand how she sees the world though, walkers are what’s next for humanity, she sees it as evolution and in her eyes she was making them immortal.
I think it was a necessary thing to show though. Like how people who are broken by something will end up becoming it. Like kidnapped people being used as bait to kidnap new people. She was broken by the walkers, and eventually her mind split into thinking that maybe the best thing to do is to join them. Then she humanized them and forced that belief on others. It's a sad but realistic thing that people go through, especially young children
Lizzy is a character based off of another character. In the comics Axel is a serial killer in the prison but in the show they decided to make Lizzie the serial killer character. So that's why she's psychotic honestly she's a terribly written character
