Oh my goodness Victoria you ROCK!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! Your breakdown of these changes are how I learn!! Don't stop doing what you do best!!! Beyond appreciated ❤
You are so welcome!
Yes! Victoria is the best! I wish she was around ten years ago when I went to coding school, lol
Victoria you are truly amazing! Please continue to help new and seasoned coders
Before I decided to enroll in courses to get my medical coding certification, I binge watched your videos. Ultimately watching your videos convinced me I wanted to do this. So now I am currently enrolled in classes and lo and behold...your videos are part of our learning. Love it! You are phenomenal. You have no idea just how helpful you are!
Thank YOU Victoria! I’m still learning about the 2023 ICD but it’s really good to know these bits of new information 👍🤓
I watch her too. Very informative. Thanks so much for this video. 😊
I don’t think you realize how much money you’ve saved me. Also, big thank you for guiding me in this journey. I love you girl ❤❤❤❤
Hey Victoria! Great videos! May you please do a step by step video on Family Practice/PCP coding and preparing to file a claim and the provider has completed their notes. Truly appreciate it!
Thank you for the suggestion -- I will add it on to my list of video ideas.
Thank you so much. As soon as I can I'll donate. You are a godsend
Hello Victoria! Thank you so much for your video and the PowerPoint slides! You are always so helpful. 😊
Thanks for this. I’m in school learning so this will help me.
Thank you Victoria! Here I found a bug (not mistake) in the video. Around 04:20, in the slides Resistant hypertension falls in I.C.9.a.12 Hypertension, Resistant, while the MI microvascular dysfunction has other discription.
Thanks for pointing that out! I appreciate the eagle eye, and I'll make sure to address it in future content. Your attention to detail is much appreciated!
Thanks Victoria, this information helps a lot. Hoping you can also cover ICD-10-PCS updates for 2024 for Inpatient coding 😉
I would but I actually don't do PCS coding. One day!!
Can I add in these codes to my 2023 icd-10 book as notes?
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much for the Super Thanks donation! Your support truly means the world to me and helps keep this channel going. It allows me to continue creating content that, hopefully, brings value to viewers like you.
Very informative 👏
Do you offer any training for Cpt and ICD10 2024 guidelines
Thanks a lot ❤
Hello Victoria, I'm scheduled to take my CPC exam in November. Should I purchase the 2024 ICD 10 CM book with the new changes to study for my exam or can I use my 2023 book that I'm currently studying from?
The exams get a refresh every January 1st to reflect the current calendar year's code sets. So, even though ICD-10-CM codes might update on October 1st, those changes won't show up in the exam until the new year rolls around. 🗓️
Feel free to use last year's books, but just know you might be at a slight disadvantage. For the full scoop, check out AAPC's official guidance:
www.aapc.com/certification/faq.aspx
" What year's books should I use?
All AAPC exams are based on the current calendar year’s code sets, so we strongly suggest you use the current year’s books. The previous calendar year’s books may be used on an exam, but you would be at obvious disadvantage doing so. The upcoming year’s books are not allowed for exam use. The exams are updated every January for the new code sets."
Amazing! Thank you!
I have been certified since September 2023, but still have not had any luck finding a job. What would be your tricks of staying on tops of the changes that come every year? Would you prefer to watch coding channels on youtube and keep a binder or notebook of the update, and study them while also finding coding scenarios on the internet and coding them? I feel rusty on coding
I understand it can be challenging to land your first coding job, but don't lose hope. Staying updated is key to maintaining your skills and increasing your employability. Watching reputable coding channels on UA-cam is a great start; they can provide valuable insights and updates. Keeping a binder or notebook with the latest changes, notes, and coding scenarios is an excellent idea to keep your knowledge fresh and organized.
Additionally, actively participating in forums, webinars, and online communities like AAPC or AHIMA can provide a deeper understanding and keep you informed about the latest in the coding world. Consider volunteering or part-time work in related healthcare positions to keep your skills sharp and add relevant experience to your resume. These efforts, combined with persistent job searching and networking, can significantly boost your chances of securing a position. Keep practicing and stay connected to the coding community!
Will you do the updates for 2024 for the CPT and HCPCS books also?@@ContempoCoding
Will you make a new video on the changes to CPC exam for 2024 when info is there?
Hi Victoria, thank you so much for your videos and I learned a lot. I just want to ask, is the test in January 2024, will there be fill in the blanks question? or still multiple choice? my exam is this 27th January and it will be my 2nd attempt, hope I could make it😊 and thank u in advance for your reply.
The AAPC has stated they will let everyone know well in advance when and IF fill-in-the blank comes out, but it was NOT in the 2024 study materials. They had previously indicated the study materials would be changed prior to adding in any fill-in-the-blank questions. For the most accurate information regarding the current format of the CPC exam, please reference the AAPC website here:
www.aapc.com/resources/cpc-exam-faqs
@@ContempoCoding thank u for your reply, appreciate much😊
Hello Victoria, firstly THANK YOU for your videos... im from INDIA 🇮🇳, graduate in medicine, present im taking training in CPC, and most probably AHIMA also, in the coming few days.. Can you tell me that if i complete my coding and have a required experience, 1.can AMERICA hire coders from INDIA to work in their hospitals or offices? 2.If AMERICA is having sufficient coders why would people of INDIA learn coding to work for AMERICANS?
Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about my videos. To address your questions:
The possibility of being hired in American hospitals or offices from India largely depends on the specific company and their hiring policies. While some companies hire internationally, they often prefer remote arrangements for coders based outside the US.
The reason many American companies sometimes hire coders from India is primarily a financial one. Coders in India might be offered lower wages compared to those based in the US, making it cost-effective for certain companies.
I hope that clarifies things a bit. Best of luck with your training and future endeavors in coding!
Hello Victoria, I need you advise in passing the assessment tests in order to get my foot wet in the door. What can you advise, suggest and help me???
So Victoria am I correct in thinking that if a provider documents a patient was in contact with someone who has confirmed Covid we would still assign z20.822? If the patient comes in with no suspected exposure z11.52 would be assigned?
I have an question,I am currently taking online courses for medical billing and coding and I did my final exam, and I didn't do so good. But I passed and I have the opportunity to take second and third attempts. My question is what do you suggest I should do as far as studying to get a better grade and I was thinking of continuing on but I don't know what the next after billing and coding. I haven't registered yet to take certification exam due to financial reasons. Thankyou for all you do to help us coders to succeed.
Hey there, thanks for your comment and question! First of all, congrats on passing your final exam. In my experience, I've never heard of anyone being able to re-take their final exams for better grades in coding courses. And honestly, in the job market, your grades usually don't matter as much as having the actual CPC certification. Employers are more interested in whether you are certified, not what grade you got in your classes.
If you're looking for ways to continue your studies, focusing on preparing for the CPC exam is a good next step. Financial constraints are understandable, but that certification will be important for landing a job in medical coding.
Best of luck, and feel free to check out my other videos for more tips!
Is it 2023 guidelines applicable for 2024 guidelines?
Can we tab this book?
@ContempoCoding Would you recommend getting the ebooks?
Right now, the AAPC still requires paper textbooks for their certification exams. However, they are in the beta testing phase of allowing eBooks for the exam, so that could change soon. The industry is definitely shifting more towards digital tools for efficiency and accessibility.
Personally, I got a bundle this year that includes both paper and eBook formats for my 2024 books. It's great to have the digital option for convenience, but keep in mind that for any AAPC exams in the near future, you'll still need the paper textbooks.
This is amazing, thank you!!❤
You're so welcome!
Question: Do you think an hour of study a day minimum should be sufficient for taking the AAPC exams in 6 months? I have a full time job that I need to be able to keep up with as I study.
Also, if I wanted to self study for the exams, where do you suggest I start?
Can u pls do a video on cpt 2024 updates
What is the difference b/w April & october changes can u clarify me
Hi! I just have a question, is it required or is it necessary to be an AAPC member before taking the cpc exam?
Yes, you can only sit for an AAPC exams if you are an AAPC member. You also must pay membership dues every year and submit CEUs to the AAPC to keep and credentials.
Hallo, I am in Kenya Africa, and in the medical field,I been thinking of venturing into this medical coding and billing, can i study Online (via Allison App) and then later apply for the CPC certification?
Hello, thank you for reaching out! It's great to hear you're interested in medical coding and billing. While it's possible to study online and then later apply for the CPC certification, it's important to note that the CPC is primarily geared towards coding practices in the United States. Additionally, I can't provide information on work visas or the potential for remote work from Kenya. Best of luck in your journey!
For dense breasts are we only adding r922 with r9230/31 if it says inconclusive? It says when applicable what makes it applicable?
Victoria I do NEED HELP WITH MY CODING..I BELIEVE I WON'T PASS MY EXAM. HELP HELP!! 😅
Don't worry, you're not alone in feeling overwhelmed! I totally get how nerve-wracking the prep for the CPC exam can be. Have you checked out the CPC Review playlist on my UA-cam channel? Helo, I am from India... myself sundar....if u say that I have a question if the field is growth in India....is it stable job ....
If you're concerned about job stability, it might help to know that as healthcare systems continue to evolve, the need for accurate and efficient coding is likely to remain high.
I am so much confused if I will start now will I compete till December and give exam ?
If not than should I wait till next year?
