How do you remove the top from a USA g scale aluminum passenger car?

I receive two of these cars in the past month. They are impressive, well detailed and sturdy. The interior details, figures and lights bring the model to life. I road in one of these heavyweights from LA to Chicago in 1944 and these models brought back great memories.

Hi there: Nice video, but you didn't give us the main dimensions like: length, width and height of the body (not over couplers). This interests me because I model in 1/32 scale and could use these if they were not to big.

I just bought the heavy weights….
I’m running them on some LGB R3 8’ track
It’s derailing the tender. The tender is a LGB mikado tender and the other tender is a AristoCraft
Do you have any tips or tricks?

Thank you for the review! Are the car walls, floors, and roof made of metal or plastic? Does anyone know for sure?

Passengers would look a lot better if the paint used was less "glossy".

Brand new Heavyweights had glossy paint so its prototypical

Too bad USA Trains smooth side passenger cars are not that easy to take the top / shell off the frame. Beautiful Heavyweight Car you have...one of my favorites.

Leaving the long screws out on one end the roof will not bow upwards in the middle while running outdoors in heat of the sun.
