there were more than one bonobo in the story: koba was just the first villian one. i'm not going to assume or spec that he's related to either caesar or koba. as we know already caesar had two sons( his eldest son learn to speak and maurice/rocket were the last two elders apart from cornilla the kings wife) there are other apes from "other camps" the redwoods was not the only place.." think about it(the last movie there was apes,chimps,bonobos captured from across the world or region)
Crazy part is, Bonobos are apparently more peaceful then Chimpanzees! For such a villain like Koba to be a Bonobos while Ceaser is a Chimp, goes to show how much he hated humans.
It's cool to think about. Ceaser became more inclined to peace as a chimp, and Koba wanted to go to war as a bonobo. They both literally went against their nature.
Bonobos are brutal rape-savages. The only thing that limits their sadism is their size. There's also a direct connection between intelligence and the appearance of sadism as a trait in a species. That's why chimps in particular and even dolphins are capable of understanding suffering and enjoying inflicting it on other creatures for entertainment.
Since ceaser was the one who started everything he is known for generations and he is a iconic beacon for the apes, Proximus taking the name could mean he's aiming to be the next iconic beacon just like how ceaser was

It's worth knowing the apes only took 300 years after gaining sentience to enter bronze age which is alarmingly fast compare to humanity IIRC. Judging from how delicate Proximus' crown and ornament are, it's clear the apes had mastered bronze smithing and it's only a matter of time before they advance to iron age. It is implied that the apes could develop their technology even faster if they have more access to functioning human tech. They built civilization for scratch based on old stories from Caesar's time and trial and error on making sense of derelict human device.
Just because Proximus Ceasar is a bonobo, Doesn't necessarily mean he's related to Koba in any shape or form. But you can argue that Proximus is most likely following Koba's Legacy into hating & hunting down humans. That is a possibility.
But they do share some similarities but Proximus is like the modern-"Koba" 😅 And even if he isn't Koba's descendant, the evil among the apes continue through Proximus.

In my opinion koba was 10 times worse cause proximus at least cares for apes and wants them to succeed by having technological advances. He even said he is mortal he did care for himself a little but not as much as koba. Koba was actually who didn’t care for apes in fact he didn’t care for any of them all he cared was for his revenge and knew he could get all apes killed.
I think Noah is a Descendant of Caesar and Proximus is a Koba descendant. My guess is either sometime in the ten years the apes lived in the red woods Koba had some kind of offspring. Some people will counter that Maurice in a book connected to the films said Koba didn’t have kids. Unless…Koba survived the fall. 1. Apes are pretty durable and have been seen to survive falls from great heights, I mean look at Caesar after Koba shot him. 2. At the end of Dawn’s credits an ape breathing which as been confirmed to be Koba by the director. 3. The original play was that Koba was going to actually physically appear in WFTPOTA but considering how much Koba hated humans he would most definitely not even join up with the army. It made more sense for previous Koba supporters to think Koba dead and then join up with the army instead. Perhaps Koba had a female follower escape with him and just booked it to get away from other apes and humans. Then they would have the offspring who would eventually result in the emergence of Proximus generations later. Maybe where Koba hated everything to do with humanity Proximus sees them as some sort of fallen gods/angels and wants to learn as much about their history to better understand his own. I bet Koba wasn’t too keen to pass the story on how he betrayed the ape equivalent of Jesus or something.

He even said together strong, just like Caesar who says apes together strong. He's also the same kind of ape as Caesar and he wants peace just like Caesar. Proximus reminds me of Napoleon from Animal farm more than anything. His love of humans makes him almost become one. They mirror that theme a lot in planet of the apes. But it would be cool to have an outright shaving of hair, wearing of clothes and so on so that he very nearly became one.
The thing so genuine about planet of the apes is that regardless of race and yes this is a real differential race and not just color but a whole different species is that the cycle never ends and keeps repeating all the time without never having a proper solution no matter how advanced it is.
Proximus really reminds me of Caesar from Fallout New Vegas. He's right about a lot. There are divided tribes weakening the society as a whole. There are enemies out there posing as allies and conquering them will lead to greater strength and unification. He's wrong about all the nuances and desires of each group and only by generalizing them and removing their individuality can his decisions be justified. It's a very interesting take. Just like Fallout NV it's easy to call him a villain, but by prodding his motivations just a little his complexity becomes very clear. Just like NV he's actually a lot kinder in person and conversation than a lot of the troops are. He understands his motivations more than the troops, who just act and spout what they've heard without understanding the logic and philosophy

Proximus reminds me of Napoleon from Animal farm more than anything. His love of humans makes him almost become one. They mirror that theme a lot in planet of the apes. But it would be cool to have an outright shaving of hair, wearing of clothes and so on so that he very nearly became one.

The thing so genuine about planet of the apes is that regardless of race and yes this is a real differential race and not just color but a whole different species is that the cycle never ends and keeps repeating all the time without never having a proper solution no matter how advanced it is.

Proximus really reminds me of Caesar from Fallout New Vegas. He's right about a lot. There are divided tribes weakening the society as a whole. There are enemies out there posing as allies and conquering them will lead to greater strength and unification. He's wrong about all the nuances and desires of each group and only by generalizing them and removing their individuality can his decisions be justified. It's a very interesting take. Just like Fallout NV it's easy to call him a villain, but by prodding his motivations just a little his complexity becomes very clear. Just like NV he's actually a lot kinder in person and conversation than a lot of the troops are. He understands his motivations more than the troops, who just act and spout what they've heard without understanding the logic and philosophy
When ever Wildcat did the Easter eggs, Vanoss would always show much he isn't a gamer and was doing for the video because he wouldn't figure it out even after so much information.

Mae was the villian and her "don't you think we deserve another chance" after she killed who knows how many enslaved Apes in the bunker is proof that humanity doesn't learn from its mistakes

I can’t even lie, when the first teaser trailer came out and they revealed proximus I thought he was gonna be voice by the king Ezekiel from the walking dead. He kind of sounded like him at the end and it would’ve been a nice ass fit
That actor or Ibris Elba would've been perfect for the villain role
I hope this isn't the last we see of proximus. Would be a dope villian to keep building on.
