I agree that this is the way Greek Potatoes are made - although I know that MUSTARD is NOT typical/traditional and the dill is OPTIONAL, according to Spiro, the Greek restauranteur and main cook where I learned this.
Looks delicious but I never understand why these recipes have the marinade added to the pan and then the pan gets overfilled with the potatoes - then stirring them to coat just makes a mess. It’s like using a mixing bowl that’s too small. It’s ok to mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and then add them to the casserole dish. So what if you have an extra bowl to wash?
I love this channel I barely have any recipes because my family stole them all before I could copy any of them down so I’ve had to come up with a lot of alternatives
Looks delicious! We love your recipes. If there is any way, can you share more oil-free recipes when possible? I appreciate the substitutes you include if you want oil-free for most. Thank you for all you do!
A Greek lady showed me this recipe, years ago. Also a baked potatoe dish studded with cloves. Can't remember the recipe tho'. Greek food is so amazing❤
Wow! I can’t have salt anymore since Covid and a lot of the food I used to eat doesn’t taste good w/o salt. I love lemon and am excited to try this recipe.🙂
Exactly how I do it minus mustard and dill not a fan for me. I prefer chicken stock. But bigger pan, I like them to slightly burnt abit on the sides mmmmmmm. Lemon potatoes are a huge favourite in my house. So easy aswell
Asking Greek friends ⬇️ Instead of vegetable broth can we just use water? Or what else we can use? I really dont wanna use store bought veggie broth. Thanks
Everyone is different. I like to bake 180 degrees covered 1H then mix uncover and cook for for 20-40 minutes, basically until the broth is all absorbed and the potatoes are cooked. Always varies depending how much liquid, potatoes and potato size
But what kind of Oregano did you use? Just the kind from McCormick or Schilling or whatever? Because that's Italian oregano. Greek Oregano isn't as light, with more depth of flavor (not saying it's better, just different). GREEK oregano is what makes it Greek potatoes, otherwise its just potatoes with lemon and Italian oregano..
These look amazing 🤩😋. I’m Irish so a day is not complete without potatoes, l also love lemons so this is a winner for me. Thank you for the beautiful recipe. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Does anyone else have the problem that the potatoes stay hard on the outside when preparing them with something sour like the lemons in this recipe? (Same with tomato sauce, vinegar or wine) How did this go in this recipe? Would love to read about your experiences before trying the recipe (which looks delicious!)
I am Greek and this is the first time that I have seen a greek recipe done right! Well done! ❤

But she probably used Italian oregano
This is exactly how we do this in Greece 🥳
It is close, but not exactly the same. I have never used or seen in a recipe the vegetable broth.
@@soph1epapakon yeah, you are probably right on that. My grandma uses the knor cubes 😂

Yesss! Greek potatoes are the best!
I've never thought to roast potatoes in broth but it makes so much sense! You hydrate them while the surface above the broth gets a nice crust ❤
As a greek APROVED

I made this today and it was DELICIOUS. Had it with a side of burgers. Incredible.
That looks so delicious and looks so easy to create. I'm making this! ❤
That looks heavenly
We do that in lebanon but also add chicken and more garlic and lemon slices, Yumm
Sounds delicious 😋 yumm...
Ditto.
Yes, in Greece also garlic is used.

There's oil in this😢😅
I’m sure it will be fine without the oil too. I don’t cook with oil at all. Use the air fryer for everything. @@alysononoahu8702
Awesome recipe love it 👍
Do u make your own vegetable broth? Thx.. looks amazing!
Making this tomorrow. When I get my money. !! 💰
My 2 favourites, lemon & potatoes!! Looks delicious

This just looks truly epic!!! Tremendous inspiration
Could someone please give me the link to the recipe for exact quantities? Thanks!
that's no fun!
Yukon Gold potatoes is like no other, but you must try Greek lemon chicken soup- it's off the hook!! 🤩🤗💖😋😋😋
Love it, with some feta nearby!!!! ❤
These are my favorite ❤
I’ve literally had Greek potatoes at lunch yesterday then this shows up randomly lol
Mmmmm can’t wait to make it 😊
So happy you made this easy and amazing recipe. Love from Greece ❤🇬🇷💙
How long in oven & what temp, please? ☺️
Around 40min, mid to high temp.
I made these potatoes for Shabbat, and they were delicious!
Yum I’m want to try
This is excellent. If you want the potatoes to be a little sweeter you can also add some orange juice.
Looks good
i bet you could also turn the broth into a sauce after baking the potatoes. also, i had those in philly while visiting upenn. they were so good
Where???
@@DN888-1 i think it was called greek lady or smth
You would cook these until the potatoes absorb the broth though, there's usually nothing left 😊
@@Yakumoki oh really? damn that sounds better, but i like my potatos saucy, so id probably make a lemon butter sauce anyway 😭

I ove these recipes and the no waste. I live in Germany and I can‘t get your recipe book here. Do you have an idea how I could get it? Thank you!
do you have any healthy marinara creamy pasta recipes????
This looks like a great dish. I have your latest cookbook but it’s not in it. Can you post the recipe?? I would love to try it
These look delicious but I'm not having my oven on for an hour in the summer
I have done this but with baby potatoes (sliced in half), so good
Yum. Even better🙏🏻🇬🇧
I would probably leave out the oil but open baking with the broth is such a good idea
From can we get the recipe of this? Can’t find it in description. Pls help 🥺
Can i just omit the oil or do i need to add more broth (no oils 4 me) to compensate?
Looks fantastic but no Semolina?

Yes. We don't use broth, just water.
@@vixen999 Thank you!👍
Can I use any mustard or is there a particular one that's best to use?
These are delicious! You can also make them with orange juice
I like to add a teaspoon of turmeric, it makes them nice and golden.
I like you and your channel so I am telling you this from a place of love ❤ but it is easier if you put the potatoes in the dish first 😂
Perfect
These potatoes were amazing, my husband and I devoured them
Yummy💛👌
How can we find your no-oil recipes?
Do that, but, don't add the stock, instead split a chicken and place on top, roast till done.
Yummy 🌹
What temp and for how long ?
Can I do that without the oil?
How long and what temp in the oven ?!
400 F or 205 C
Bake uncovered for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Halfway through, stir to ensure the potatoes are coated in the lemon olive oil mixture.

Is it going to be too lemony (too sour ) ?
