    I am a law student and have my most difficult exam tomorrow, reviewing all of the material this evening stressed me out (things that don't bother me when the sun is up suddenly become very stressful at night). I found this video, went through the exercise and it worked amazingly. I can't thank you enough for posting this.

    It took me awhile to learn to empty head & not let outside noises effect me. A very wise person told me that I should acknowledge the thought or noise & then let it go. Then return to concentrating on your breathing.You do this as many times as needed until one day you can go a whole minute with an empty mind, then you find yourself being able to go for five minutes and you keep building to your goal.
    The Tao of Natural Breathing is a good read.
    Don't give up trying!!
    Peace.Love.Understanding.

    A good way i found to increase my concentration on breathing and not on other thoughts is to start counting the number of breaths i take, then to forget what breath i'm on by purely concentrating on the breath. it's actually a lot harder to stop your mind from automatically counting and to put all of your concentration and focus on the moment

    Quit smoking, I did and I feel better than ever, my anxiety has gotten so much better and I can work out and actually BREATHE! Remember the more you smoke the duller your skin looks, the harder it is to breathe, your teeth, lungs, etc etc. Think about your poor lungs, it doesn't deserve it and neither do you, love yourself babe, I didn't for a very long time.

    Yes doing these one after the other is good. With practice you will access deeper relaxation in a few minutes. People find relaxation of the muscles to be the easiest. Then relaxation of the breathing requires a little more attention. And finally when it comes to relaxation of the mind, you could spend a lifetime working on this skill. I practice all three at the same time without the audio guided meditation playing.

I went to Brain Integration Therapy today, and "this" was the perfect addition to my healing practice. Your style of leading is easy and I let even more stuff go. Thank you for your comment. You are the second person recently to tell me how this meditation helps relieve asthma symptoms. I've been considering a guided meditation specifically for people suffering from asthma. What do you think?

    • @darlarosen4289
      @darlarosen4289 8 років тому

      That would be wonderful. My problem with doing meditation is that as soon as I'm conscious of breathing it can feel like hard work. You have taught be how to really slow my breathing down. Also it really helped when you guided the in and out breath with 5 seconds in between. I have to say that was the best bit for me I felt I needed you to go on for longer guiding me when to breath , and was a bit worried that I couldn't keep that beautiful rhythm going on my own. So would really appreciate it if you could make that bit last longer. You have a very calming voice. Definitely the best I've heard o. UA-cam. So thanks again for your generosity. Loads of love and good wishes to you Darla 💛😊X

    Yes -- this breathing technique is very good at putting you to sleep. My first advice would be, if you're sleepy take a nap. A nap is very good for your health and healing. Also, you could change your posture; sit more upright in a straight back chair. You can try this breathing combined with a slow walking meditation. Just a few ideas.

    I would say this depends upon the purpose. For deep relaxation it would be good to keep your attention on the breath. If your attention wanders off the breath then perhaps the breathing pattern would change and the relaxation would be lacking. However, focusing on the breath initially and then shifting your focus to your inner body be a good way to start a deep meditation or inner journey.

    @ScottGaul Stress does cause your brain to shut down and go into "fight or flight" mode. When you're frightened you can't think properly. The Sympathetic Breathing guided meditation can help. And yes, relaxation does improve overall health. You may also want to think of the spirit in which the music was written and as it was intended to be played. There is no fear -- the music flows creatively perhaps like a river. When you are completely in the music there is no fear there.

    • @ScottGaul
      @ScottGaul 8 років тому

      The meditations here are best practiced when feeling more calm. Think of these are daily exercises that will help reduce or skip the next anxiety episode.
      Next time you feel an anxiety episode coming on try this very simple exercise. I'd like to know how it works for you. Next time anxiety becomes overpowering as if you were a fish swimming in its ocean change the mental framework; be the outside observer of the anxiety. Take the anxiety and all the images and sensations and see it as an object within you. It has a size and shape and location. Now your conscious awareness can observe the anxiety. Take that anxiety and all its images and sensations and hold it out in front of you - you can do that. You'll find this is all possible when you become the Awair Observer. You can look at it for a while if you like but soon send it out into the yard somewhere and let it sink deep down into the Earth. Watch how the Earth digests it and consumes it and absorbs it to where it disappears into the elements of the Earth. Now the cycle is broken and your Consciousness is free.

      +Scott Gaul To be fair Im a rather lax type of person. I rarely stress out or suffer from anxiety - everyone says I'll never die of stress! I don't find dealing with stress or anxiety difficult at all, because, in the end, what all does it give? Nothing at all! So why worry about such a trivial thing as that? I totally understand its easier said than done, but for me personally its exceptionally easy and always has been. I just don't understand the logic behind it, thats all

      +Scott Gaul I failed to add that it doesn't mean I never stress - that'd be inhuman to never experience stress or anxiety. In this particular case its been 6 or 7 days that I haven't been able to keep food down and the doctor keeps telling me to wait it out. I'm not in the least impressed. I am also feeling anxiety towards my health at the moment, sometimes worse than other times. I feel like in this particular scenario I really should worry though ^^

      Maé Canto maybe you are not alone and the place is not quite, trust me I tryed this with noise on other rooms and it does make you feel worse because you are trying to relax and it can become more frustrating. another thing is that you need to believe this will help. it truly helps keep trying you'll get better everyday. good luck to you I know anxiety trust me but it is not stronger than you.
