Nice upgrade. I like the value you got for the bang here. 👌 The stitching on the rim looks so good! Got the SRM Adapter myself when I was on Fana. A very good adapter. Enjoy your new wheel! 🥳
Thanks man, yeah I'm digging it so far. The SRM is really well made. I'm kinda happy I can just buy rims now and try to save some money. Sim Racing can be such a money pit lol
I have the exact same Rim/Button Box, on a VRS Direct Force Pro. They have a carbon fiber plate to cover the horn hole, that matches the button box. But they wanted $50 canadian, and that was more then I wanted to spend.
Yeah, that's a bit pricy just for that one cover. For me i wish the magnetic shifters were a stronger. I'm trying to think of way to maybe glue another magnet on or something
Oh nice, I've ordered this button box for use with a Simagic base and a spare 13" wheel which should hopefully bolt up. I got the aluminum version which is probably heavier but I think should be fine.
It's a solid piece of kit for a great price. The only two cons in my opinion are 1. The shifter magnets are a little two lite for my liking. But do-able. 2. The shifters are a bit of a reach if you want to bolt on a round wheel with any push out for the center (which is almost all of them). Other then that, it's very nice. I can't wait until the Simagic new neo box comes out.
@@jameslsimsports8514 Awesome, thanks for letting me know, at least gives me some ideas of what I'm getting into. I wonder if I can 3D print some extensions to the shifters to bring them out another 1/2 to 3/4". I guess I'd have to get it in my hands and see how it. For me this will be for a secondary rig I'm setting up (trying to make it compact yet as classy as possible) for the back corner of the living room. That way if there are ever guests that want to jump in while rest of us are talking they can do so :) My primary rig just has the simagic wheelbase and its GT1 wheel.
@@jameslsimsports8514 100% will do :) Mine will be arriving in about 2 weeks. Also I'm in Canada (Durham area in Ontario). So happy holidays from a fellow Canadian :)
@svtcontour oh nice man! Happy holidays my fellow Canuck. Betting you have a bit more snow up there than in T.o. atm. Yeah I'd to grab or purchase whatever you come up with i bet postage wouldn't be much
Jeez I just got the aluminum version of this on Aliexpress ( will get the lighter version you got next time)It's so strong and well made but we need to keep things lighter. The shifters are amazing! Did you notice the supplied screws are a little bit too slim?? Should I get fatter screws.
Hey man, yeah you need to use an M5, 45 or 50 mil countersunk screw. This will go through your rim pass through the button plate all the way and out into whatever QR your using. In my case a Fanatec. That's how i did it anyways lol
@@frankzappa2274 Yeah It's an awesome button plate for the price! I ended up with the www.turnracing.com/products/turn-r305-steering-wheel on it. The two compliment each other. The rim is pricey! but I couldn't resist. The yellow matches nicely too
It is a direct rip off of his design, he requested they stop but copyright doesn't matter in China. If you buy this at least do PE a service by buying his DIY plans, so at minimum you can make your own replacements parts and PE gets something for all his hard work.
@@scoltx thought it was, I love PE Stuff busy building his display at the moment and I've purchased a few of his wheels too. It's a shame people regardless of where they are from do this.
very expensive for Ali-express product, it shows a 195.09 eurs plus shipping , plus you to need that SRM what also cost, price tag goes for same like fanatec self produckts
dont buy this button plate, its an illegal design stolen from pokornyi engineering, due to the loose copyright laws in china the real creator of this diy wheel has been unable to get them removed, jsut buy the plans for 30 and build it for 100 less than they are selling the ready made one.
Yeah i agree with this. I mean i wish Poke just sold them ready to go. I'm above average at all the DYI stuff. But sourcing these button boxes and having the know how to actually put it all together is not a simple thing as you say. You need to have other skills like soldering etc.. also it's quite time consuming. Just my two cents
Ye bullshit. For 150 dollar included shippings this is good. Even led buttons now. I mean fanatec sell u a csl hub for 150 dollars, and that one is shit as fkk and cant even compare to the magnetic shifter , no homo through
Just what I was looking for regarding the button box, thanks.

It has great diameter to use as for both formula rim and rally rim. Nice one!
Yup! glad to have a round wheel finally. Need to get back on the Rally soon

Hello ! I really liked the set, one question, why does it only have 4 screws and not 6? 2 didn't fit ?
I got lazy. All screws fit, but you really only need 3. Two at top sides and one buttom is more then enough. Tested all work though
You could put a Horn Delete plate, they are also sold on Ali
Linky Linky McLinky, the only thing missing :) I have the round version of that rim btw, I highly rate it for $30 !!
Yeah you can't go wrong with the Alli prices haha. Althought shipping can be costly! I updated the vid description with Linky links! lol

All my steering wheels for the sims are from Alli now tbh, they are perfect for the money.
Great review. Does this have a joystick/funky switch?

what is the name of the button plate? link doesnt work anymore
Search for Simsonn button plate on Alliexpress

I'm not sure i don't have a scale. But it's quite light. Carbon fiber.

You probably can't find anything better than this for the price for OSW, Simucube, VRS etc. If you know let me know please.
Compared to other button plates it's very good value. I know the guy at SRM ordered 5 of them after i showed him the link.
