I also am enjoying K3N Cloth Tales weekly slow stitching series. Can’t wait to see your finished cover.

Oh that beautiful hand stitching! The flannel will work just fine even tho its a fairly loose weave because it is on a foundation...such pretty vintage-looking fabrics. Love this project❤

I cannot remember what my first quilt was~ probably more of a scrappy baby's blanket. Quilting was fun for the companionship in groups, and a few retreats here and there. With the astonishing increase in quilting fabrics, I can understand how so many shops have had to close. The upside is it forces us to move back to economizing as was the biggest reason for quilting in the beginning. Use what you have, and make something beautiful. :-) Keep stitching. Best wishes~ Valerie.

I know the cost of fabric these days is out of my price range, so I am thankful for my scraps! I have bought some squares on Amazon like 50 in a pack, that were inexpensive. The fabric was ok, and the designs were very pretty! 🤗

I really love this. And thank you for sharing the story behind long cabin. Your quilting years are really showing beautifully with your slow stitch. I love this Sunday series! Hugs ❤️🤗

Ohh I love this, and the story of the log cabin quilt😍. You have such wonderful fabrics, how lucky to have those! I went to hobby lobby and bought a lot of 1/8 of a yard of fabric at 40% off. Super cheap, like 30-50 cents each. Some people may not know that you can buy less than a yard, I didn’t know it for years. Perfect for slow stitching. Thanks for sharing. 😊

There's plenty of fabric in an eight-of-a-yard! It's a great way to get a little stash of fabric! I hope you're relaxing and having fun too.🪡💕🧵🪡

Hi Rita. I found some scraps just to give it a try. I started with a 4x4 square. I did pretty good ( did the simplest of stitches). It turned out nice. I’m going to use it as a pocket in a journal. Unfortunately just as I suspected it hurt my hand. I am left handed so that’s the hand I hold the needle in but the hand the hurts is my right one. Same thing happens when I cut paper. I hold the paper in my right hand too. Even when I fold paper my right hand holds it down so I can bone fold the crease. It’s very upsetting, I love journal making. I can only do those things a few at a time. I made an appointment with the hand specialist. But I will vicariously do it through you LOL 😜Tfs. 🌼🌼🌼

Unfortunately, our crafting causes you and me pain! You might try using a hoop. I am not sure if that will work or not to help hold the fabric! 🤗 I hope the weather is warming up for you; we had a frost warning, but it will be in the upper seventies by the end of the week! 🌸💕🌸

WOW!! I love this and had also been gathering fabric scraps to do the same. I would do mine along with you but have not yet gotten enough of the true of scraps I want. I have been finding a few at a time. I have some civil war reproduction fabrics I can use, but have them for other projects. Need to figure out how much I need for the other projects and then I will have snippets for this. So I cannot join in with you yet. But fabrics from the beginning of the Industrial Revolution and from just before that are what I am watching for. Reproductions are fine. But I am planning on doing a journal about life in the typical farm kitchen about that time.

Thank you! I love the idea of a kitchen journal in the thirties or forties (feed sacks) for fabric.🧵💕🪡

Where did you get the pretty zipper pouch in the beginning of your video?
That seems like a great solution for keeping project ideas organized.
Thank you for all your techniques!

Hi Sharon, I made it, and the back was a piece I embroidered, perfect for it! There are several UA-cam videos on how to make them. Just type in “Project Bag.” Also, you can get them ready-made from Etsy! Thank you for watching! 🤗

So fun to watch you do a log cabin square . Years ago I made a small log cabin quilt . Was the TV person you mentioned Carol DuVall? Not sure if I spelled her name right.

Yes, I did. I have made one using only hand stitching, without vinyl...here is the first video in my playlist for Sunday Slow Stitching: ua-cam.com/video/3kNH7TfSIpE/v-deo.htmlsi=QFCD3R5gaUWKNPQI🪡🧵🪡
