Lovely video - well done - the other preserved one is Birmingham - thank you for making the video - it shows that the heavy locos we can buy now with lots of metal in them are a lot better. Woof!
It would have been nice if the coaches had the "go faster" lines on the sides to match the locomotive. I have the older 70's version, not as accurate in detail, but I am happy with it. My coaches are the same moldings as these but the first ones that came out in the late 70's. All second hand but in great condition. Hornby did release some with the stripes, but I believe these are much rarer than the blues and fetch a pretty penny. I painted my own gold stripes on the sides of mine, and they turned out nicely if I do so say myself. Nice video. Thanks for posting.😊
Thank you for watching, the video I am working on now is of the older blue/silver coronation, I only have one coach but it was only when filming this I realised that Hornby hadn't run the strips through. I don't think I would have a steady enough hand to paint my own stripes! anyway thanks again.
loving the videos. the camera shots as it whizzed past were amazing just as shame that it's too light. I had a similar problem with one of them before 😁😁😁
@@dustyshelfcollectables what i meant is the fact that your red and gold coronation class was derailing more than likely from lack of weight and what i did as a solution is get the little mettle strips and went down to my model shop and got them installed it helped keep it on the track
So sorry I misunderstood, when you said light I assume you were talking about the footage, I am new to editing and so thought it may have come out too bright. But Indeed, you are absolutely correct, yes, the loco need some weight, it is very light. Anyway thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to message me.
Absolutely stunning train !!! It would fit very nicely into my collection of streamlined locos. Too bad that it doesn't run well, I've run into similar issues with other Hornby as well as Rivarossi and Bachmann US locos, they just don't engineer them to run well...
When I get some time, someone suggested to lock at the wheel gauge and add a little mass so I will give that a try. The loco is too good not to run well, but to be fair my track isn't great!
@@dustyshelfcollectables Adding weight seems to help a lot !!! I have a Jouef railcar train that ran fine with 3 cars: ua-cam.com/video/2ss-Sq_PbDo/v-deo.html. When I added 2 more, the motorized car gave up. I happened to have a small weight I put over the driven wheels, and Voila, it was able to pull the whole train: ua-cam.com/video/yfEC2rI8YDw/v-deo.html
