I had too much fun reacting to "Ice Cream" by Blackpink and Selena Gomez in today's video. As some of you may know, I react to both Blackpink and Selena Gomez a lot on this channel. So I was super excited to see that they collaborated for the song - Ice Cream. Of course, I've been a fan of Selena Gomez for much longer than I've been a fan of Blackpink. My reaction to the Ice Cream music video shows my bias... but I'm truly loving all of this girl power in one music video. I love this song, it is my new BP fav song. And YES!!! You are 1000% right, Selena looks amazing. Not only she has a rocking body but the actitude, i haven't see her so happy and enjoying something in a while.
You should check out the behind the scenes. They didn't shoot together because of Coronavirus. Selena shoot in the US and Black Pink shoot in South Korea. In Selena's making film of Ice Cream MV you can see her having a videocall with Black Pink.

you should really react to some more of a blackpink videos, not really interview more like their vlives and their reality show, they are really sweet and funny and def not dry. it’s just that not all of them speak perfect english and they tend to get shy.

A bit off topic but one thing I've realized about kpop which I didn't get at first is that while non-fans or casual listeners think a company putting a group together is "too manufactured" or "not real chemistry" it actually works amazing. I remember awhile ago seeing a member of SHINee say they're coworkers first before family and thought that was odd. Now, looking back it makes sense and is actually really relatable to the friends you make in your own life while working/schooling. They don't really allow ego to get in the way of work, they play their positions well so they can focus better and they spend a lot of time together working so they create these special bonds. Albeit it's not a sure success thing but when it works it's amazing.

Hey so I have some K-pop recommendations for you (you should really check these out)
1. Itzy- a girl group, only 5 members which you'd like, they debuted in 2019, they have this like cute girly concept but they're music is also about like self-love and like I don't care what others say I just wanna be myself, literally all of their songs are good (the most known ones are Dalla dalla, icy,wannabe, and not shy )
2.Txt- a boy group form the same company as bts, they are really cute , they have 5 members, they debuted in 2019, they have a lot of great songs but my favorites are can't you see me,Crown or eternally
3.Iz*one - a girl group with 12 members, they're pretty new too, they're not a permanent group which means they're supposed to go solo and some of them will be actresses after they disband next year, they are really cute (bts some of the girls are Korean and some are Japanese ) they have really good songs - my favourites are secret story of the swan (really bop!) or violeta
Other groups I recommend: weki meki, momoland,ateez...
And here are some solo artist I think you should check out as well!:
1. Hyuna, you might know her from the gang name style video clip, she debuted at a very young age (16 or 17 I think) and she's been making music for a pretty long time actually, she is so iconic, she has been sexualized a lot , she was in a lot of groups (for example 4 minute ) she is dating another solo artist who goes by the name Dawn, some of her songs :bubble pop, roll deep, red, flower shower
2. Somi - she debuted last year but she was in a group called i.o.i before, doesn't have a lot of songs, you should listen to her debut song birthday! It's such a bop
3.Jessi - a solo rapper, she's so baddas, she has plastic surgery which is not often seen in K-pop, she has so much swag, you should listen to her song Nunu Nana
Other good soloists : sunmi, Cl ( a rapper) almost every member of every group that also has solo songs - my favourite is suga from bts whose alias is Agust d and his solo raps are on firee, also blackpink Jennie has a solo song called "Solo" and it's really great, and a lot of other members from groups who have solo careers as well💕

I disagree. I think they’re just experimenting with a new style because literally everyone always says their songs sound the same but as soon as they do sum different everyone attacks them. I personally love their latest releases and I’m excited for the album
ᴘᴀʀᴋ ᴍᴏᴄʜɪʟᴀʟᴀ They have no say in their music, they look so uncomfortable in interviews (specially when asked about their songwriting process) because they (mostly Rosé and Jennie) love music and would like to write it or at least have some input on the concepts pf the songs. i know a lot of kpop groups also dont have a say on this stuff but as they grow bigger they are gonna be expected to be “real artists” but YG just wont let them express themselves.

ᴘᴀʀᴋ ᴍᴏᴄʜɪʟᴀʟᴀ their company is sexist asf because it lets all its male groups BigBang,Winner,Ikon and even their new boy group Treasure write their songs and have creative control but just because its a girl group they don’t and they have to rely on Teddy for everything and Teddy is obviously stressed out thats why its took soo long for them to have a full album if Blackpink don’t have a serious talk with their company they’re gonna end up like 2ne1 and the funny thing about it is Blackpink is their best selling group at the moment even back in 2ne1 days 2ne1 was selling more albums than BigBang and YG treated the girls terribly and its sad that they don’t have creative control when most idol groups are becoming self producing groups because of BTS even Twice started writing and composing songs on their new albums.
