This was the best Gundam game I've ever played as a elementary kid, then I got addicted to Dynasty Warriors in my high school years. Man, those were the memories.
when i was a kid there were some missions that were straight up nightmares for me. i especially remember the zeon campaign being more difficult. been ages since i played tho i can't remember. there's a MS on the federations side that has a long range cannon on it's back that was one of my faves.
Holy shit, a good lets play of Mobile Suit Gundam Federation vs Zeon. My hats to you sir. Also, I love this campaign map more then the one in Zeta gundam.
This game is the best Gundam game for the PS2 imo. The combat just feels solid vs. the other ones. The space combat especially. I used to like playing in space vs. two Zeongs with the difficulty turned up for the challenge and the "new type" feel of dodging the multiple beam shots from different directions....I'm a nerd.
New Types are the next step in human evolution. They use other parts of their brain which they were able to open up to due to being born in space. This allowed them to feel and predict enemy movements and allowed them to know how to operate machinery without any formal training. They could also sense the emotions of other people. So yes, kind of like Jedi actually (example: Anakin being a naturally good pilot).
I always thought that this was a great game and I think the slowness of the mobile suit movements made the game better rather than worse. I wish they would localize more Gundam games for NA. This was one of the last good ones that they Localized and I fear they will never localize one again.
The Near command can be tricky since it increases the chances of getting hit by your team mates' own weapon, Gundam vs Zeta Gundam was notorious with this as I have lost count of how many times I've been hit by a beam rifle from my own guys at close range.
Oh my god the feels....I loved this game back in the day...I loved the campaign on both sides, especially when it intertwined with the events of the anime. Sure it had its limitations, but overall it was a great game to play.
I remember renting this game from Blockbuster about 8 years ago not even knowing what Gundam was, all I knew was the box art was interesting. I'm grateful to the game because it got me into the Gundam franchise and anime in general. Still own a copy of the game.
I rented zeonic front for about a week and cried when I had to give it back. I wanted to be good at that game so badly but it was so much harder than the one I was used to. XD

Both versions were ported over to the Playstation 2 and Dreamcast but since the DX stages appear in my version then I think its safe to say that it is the DX version. Although I wouldn't rule out the possibility that this is a NA version that is entirely different from the JP DX edition.
I loved this game one of the only games that i could sit here and play for hours on end and feel like the badass gundam pilot we all wished we could be i wish they would have made it for the xbox xbox 360 and xbox1
God bless the makers of this game. Though it's outdated. The models for the mobile suits honestly still look great. Their movements do. Very fluid, most gundam games have the mobile suits look so stiff. I played the shit out of this. It was this game and 0083 that got me into the UC series.

An Amazing game and easily one of the BEST gundam games. GvsZG improved on it. And...Oh. Oh God the nostalgia. hopefully, Gundam Vs will make it to the West.

Why haven't we gotten a gundam game like this or battle operations 2 that also captures the raw speed and power of mobile suits like we see in Gundam Thunderbolt, Origins, or some of the scenes in War in the pocket where were see that Gelgoog Jaeger zooming around fighting GM Commands'?
I love this game, but I never got very good at the maneuvering. Plus I was sad that I never got to use the Gundam that much because they took to long to repair.
I played this game when I was 7/8 and I couldn’t understand english so I only played “Arcade Mode” for 2/3 years until I broke my ps2...this game need a Remake
Use the PCSX2 emulator. At least seven Gundam games are confirmed to work on it, including the PS2 version of Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2. This particular game isn't listed in the compatibility guide but Gundam vs Zeta Gundam (which Lokenhar says in the video uses the same engine) is fully playable with no major problems whatsoever. I say give it a try, you can't go wrong with this franchise!
lol, I can't believe this looks better than Gundam Crossfire on the PS3, a lot smoother too. Yeah, this series has come a long way, just look at how flashy Maxi Boost is compared to this.
If they ever did a remake he whatever keep it the same but just add 0080 08th ms team and 0083 characters and mobile suits. They already have ground combat from 08th ms but they could have added more imo.

there are two Federation MSes that have long cannons (although both of them have a pair of such cannons): Guntank and Guncannon
