I hate how wasteful humans are. The house was full of things that could have been donated to charity, instead of just getting destroyed along with the house.
This was a grand house, you could tell by the p.a. system under the stairs. Am I the only one who feels sad when I see books left behind? So many things that could have been reused too, very sad. Great find :)
+Joanne Sabourin omg the stuff that could have been repurposed is annoying , gees just let some charity in to salvage with volunteers 😕 thanks for watching !!!
Joanne Sabourin No and bet it's the banks responsible for not managing the house, just really sad there are people that would be grateful to live there and protect the property.
it's the younger generation Derek Hunter, I can't understand it either, it is scary that they feel they have to destroy things, such a beautiful home..
I was just thinking that as well. I literally don't know a lot about well anything really but the house didn't seem too far gone to where someone couldn't have fixed it up and sold it. Obviously the restoration probably would have cost a pretty penny but someone out there would have bought it.
what a beautiful home this must have been. you can tell how clean they kept it even with the damage and graffiti. I have never seen a refrigerator that exactly matches the cabinets! thanks for sharing before it was demolished
It makes me me so sad seeing all the things in there that could have been used by someone. I'm glad at least one person got shelter here, they would have been able to keep the poorhouse warmer than the huge rooms in the house. One thing that jumped out at me was the green turtle sandpit, so children lived here, my son was born in 1982 and I bought him one of these for his third birthday, a child would have loved to have that. What a shame they don't let a charity in to take anything they want. Thanks for showing this, I'm off to look at how it was
It's sad that not more stuff was saved or donated to second hand stores. There were a bunch of nice metal shelving units, I saw some solid brass furnace grates, the new light fixtures and nails in the boxes and of course all those books.
This just hurt the heart! So many lovely touches, so much wasted, so many lost resources. I desperately wish they could repurpose these things better. An amazing house! Half of the appliances were brand new! I can only hope more got taken out and reused than shown. What a horrible waste of such beautiful materials!
07:13 Did that book read ART OF WAR? Oh my gosh the marble floors on the main! The star on the landing and the B+W throughout. Gorgeous! All white carpet in the rooms, the library. What a place! Thanks for the peek!
Alex Thamer yes as well as the beautiful wooden doors and floors. People like most of us commenting appreciate this lovely home where once there was the sounds of life of children laughing and the click of high heels across the magnificent black and white marble floors and a husband who was proud of his family home. Now it's disposal time. There must be more to life than this Un ceremonial ending.
what a lot of waste .. i wonder why they had give away this wonderful house for some other development.. what a waste of money, time and material .. great video .. thanks for sharing
That house was gorgeous!! It is so sad to see it and know it would be demolished. Why couldn't it be turned into maybe a homeless shelter or something to help others? Such a tragedy.
Nice house. I like the spacious spaces, especially in the bedrooms and also the light colors, expand the spaces. Good channel. Greetings from Argentina.
I have rebuilt absolute Basketcase houses -- this was NOT one of them! Look at those floors! Nothing was blighted, structure intact -- in place of p.o.s. attached homes like packed rats? What a great idea! That contractor's going to make another absolute fortune. But thank you very much for sharing your find with us - as always!
I love how you insert photos into the video, really enjoy you're channel..cant understand why you havent got more subs?!?! im sure if you go on as you are that will change great job dude😀
it was a beautiful home. I have to ask for permission to salvage usable parts to be donated to habitat for humanity. The doors, refrigerator, shiny flooring, pink toilet and mirrors etc.... are still good.
I sell custom window treatment, & those custom fabric wrapped cornices around the windows/doors typically range anywhere between $200 - $400 each. (in the video at 3:48)
And those shutters at 10:48 could have been anywhere between $450 - $650 each. Shutters are never cheap, & they are a lot more work to measure, & install than most other treatment.
I also noticed that those fabric cornices are on quite a few doors & windows, & EVEN above their shower!! Haha! Odd, but expensive & very custom, not something you can just go buy at a store.
Nice huge place... I'm glad you didn't encountered the squatter. Anyways, can't wait to see the incoming winter explores. Is there a "Christmas special" video coming for us soon? :P
I think there are three possible reasons why: The first possible reason is whoever owned the house may have ran into financial problems and they decide to sell and if they get an offer that is a reasonable offer or they get exactly what they were asking I don't think they would decline the offer, that would be pretty foolish of them. The second possible reason they were probably elderly and they decide to sell and either they got a reasonable offer or they got exactly what they were asking so again it would be foolish not to accept. The first two reasons that are listed above I hope were the case, where a developer received this property by purchasing it and not using eminent domain, even though I wouldn't like selling to a developer who is going to demolish something that I lived in, had good times and bad times in however if they purchase the property I still think they should be able to do what they want because it's now theirs even though I may not like it. On the other hand if the new owners receive this property thought eminent domain I think they should be ashamed that I hope they gave the previous owners more money than what their property is valued at. The third possible reason which I think is wrong is the Canadian government could have used the power of eminent domain which basically forces someone to sell their property to someone else on what they think is fair market value and if you refuse you may get less. Most of the time governments use eminent domain to force someone to sell their property to a developer in hopes a developer will either build high-end apartments, stores that will attract more people to the government can collect more taxes.
Wish investors would buy these places that are savable , so many homeless people. Make a great 1/2 way house/treatment center. Group home, foster home. So many possibilities.
I am probably mistaken but when I saw this house, I felt like it was familiar home. watched a video on abandoned murderer's home where event occurred. the home was to be demolished as no one would purchase home. I haven't seen identical yet similar that makes me ask if same house aka mansion. I appreciated your outside tour of grounds before entering home. this is only my first watch of your selections.
great video. lovely home. could be that sinks, doors and light fixtures were sold off. in a demolition, frequently things are sold to repurpose contractors. great job. thanks!
+DDOh's Spent a pleasurable afternoon watching your vids and enjoyed it all.. Your style is Superb!! The way you give background information etc. Keep up the Good work.. from (sunny) Scotland. :)
+neil mac boom!! Thanks so much Sunny for the kind words. Scotland's a wonderful country spend some time there. Come back from work and don't forget to share
People pass away, family estate inherits property. Wait for big offer. Mum and Dads legacy to their adult children who have so much that this home has little value to them but monetary for their lifestyles.
I think you would be very lucky to get it for that. The land alone in the uk would be more. The house, even in its current state would sell for over £2m so I think £3m as it stands minimum and likely more. If selling to developers for building smaller homes like this.......double at least in uk.
+mellyayble thanks so much!! I try to provide as much insight as I can since I don't talk in the vid, and also try to answer as many comments as possible 👍 thanks for watching!!!
It's unfortunate this place is being demolished for condos, it was probably at one time when it was first built a very quiet piece of property then the city expanded around it along with the properties next door.
+ARednecksLife absolutely! The town grew around it. I got the timeline wrong and it appears it was built in early 80s. Oddly, lived 5 minutes from this house then!
I have to agree with you. There were so many high end materials used for that house, yet you come around a corner, to find a very obvious difference in the doors. Some looked like Cherrywood. Then another, would look like a low-end Home Depot door. And I love Home Depot. I wonder if it had something to do with funding at the time of construction. Sure makes me sick, to know these beautiful homes are being demolished to make room for multi-family complexes. If they keep it up, they're going to make towns & cities so crowded, they begin to look like Los Angeles & Orange County, California, where I live. Makes for a lot of traffic congestion & over-crowding
In in the UK, love hearing from my over seas viewers!! Only research I have it was built in 81, sold in 2014 for 2.5 mil, and that research was done by another viewer. Research time is not something I am swimming in ...work life balance...lol..Thank you so much for watching, share this vid on your social media to help my channel! cheers!
I see what you mean about the mix of high end and low end features. Most fancy homes would have vaulted ceilings with molding and a lot of drop ceilings there. A lot of shelves are not expensive and same with cabneits.
I think it looks as though the house was bought (from a previous owner) and being renovated and before it was completely finished they were offered that huge amount and it was never lived in. Some things like that box of lights, the box of nails and the fridge looks brand new inside. Or maybe they did live there but were renovating some things, like going from the ugly gold lights to the white. The place was beautiful. Have a great day!
Gosh, there's so much here from books to furnishings that could have been recycled, passed on or refurbished!! I wonder why it was demolished instead of just getting it restored.
Plice tape @10:14? Wonder what went on there... And I get sad when I see music left behind, even if it's stuff I don't like 'cuz the people still had memories with it. And.. I'm showing my age, but I remember that Simpsons album when it was new. :D
It's more of waste to me. I understand it does not good just sitting there and old must be replaced with newer stuff in better condition but this was perfectly flip able.
Ah , c'mon man, show us a few books, please!! More interesting than nails, though that was a nice touch to let them fall through your fingers. Thankfully, it seems there was SOME kind of salvaging going on. Such a shame to let all that woodwork be destroyed. Once was a beautiful house! Thanks for posting!!!
The crazy thing for me, they still leave stuff behind. Looks like it was really beautiful at one time. Do you know what happened to the owners?? Thanks great video!!
+Pati Giddens no I don't, looks like a full clear out though. I bet they got top dollar for that land though, I have reached out to a friend to find out how much ))
I have to wonder when I see these beautiful homes destroyed, what would the former owners would think if they saw it like this, beyond sad what some people do.
wow I agree that it is such a waste of natural (declining) resources. I wish that they could maybe say to a not for profit organization " Hey this place will be demolished with contents, feel free to take anything you need." It makes me sad to see all of that wood, items and other building material to also be wasted. It feels like these people have enough money to not care about it, in their minds it probably justifies their waste.
Sadly it's easier and cheaper for beautiful, historic homes like these to be demolished than it is to put the money and time into it.Developers want the land to put 100's of cookie cutter homes .All about fast, easy and the almighty dollar.
Sammy Sunshine agree. having worked in the industry i can tell you builders get the same houses built in a matter of months, put junk cheap fixtures and appliances to make themselves richer and you would be surprised at the amount of profit. its never about anyone else, just whos hungry for money.its really sad.
Wow! Bet this place was beautiful at one time. Wanted to watch this to the end but this bubble type lens and filming always makes me dizzy and leaves me with a headache. Saddens me to see how much is wasted in the demolition of these homes. Thank you for sharing this property.
Only in America do we let things go to waste! Why was this property left sitting for people to vandalize? Can't they sell them or at least take the expensive material out to repurposed before they demolished it!!! Makes me sick
Beautiful floors, looked like custom built bookcases too. I agree with a lot of the other comments, there's so much WASTE. All the waste is top quality too. What do you think happened to the owner?
It would be awesome if your going g to enter these properties to found out more info for your followers who watch them. Like who were the last owners, how long has it been vacant, why was it never sold, why are they demolishing it?
Seeing stuff like this makes me really sad. Such a beautiful house and grounds. Can't believe people would just abandon something like this. Tearing it down was probably the best thing, since it would have cost alot of money to refurbish it. Mold had probably already set in and that can be deadly. So many buildings are getting demolished. Really sad.
I really feel bad for homes that are abandoned with so many qualities and features to be saved for someone else's enjoyment. It really angers me as well to see someone build something so unique and either couldn't afford it afterwards and just leave it and inferriorates me that the bank don't take over and try to sell it to someone else that could afford it.
What a shame that vandals could demolish this place so bad. I can't understand how someone gets pleasure out of destroying other peoples property, even if it is abandoned. I would love to live in a place like this. It's just sickening that developers put up all those worthless cardboard houses and take some thing so beautiful and tear it down. So much stuff that could have been reused, just thrown away. We are the most "throw away" country in the world. Nothing is of value to most people anymore. Sad!
There was another part to this vid where the guys try to spend a night there. Very freaky. Wonder if the shenanigans were real. All I know is that it freaked me out and I woke up around 4am and my heater turned on by itself LOL. I turned it off and went back to sleep LOL
How sad :( This was someone's home, their pride and joy. Vandals suck. This house is gorgeous.
I hate how wasteful humans are. The house was full of things that could have been donated to charity, instead of just getting destroyed along with the house.
including the wood flooring and doors etc in the house.
So much BEAUTIFUL wood etc. that could be used!!
No, it made me sad too...and irritated at the senseless destruction. I've NEVER understood why people do that.
Joanne Sabourin No and bet it's the banks responsible for not managing the house, just really sad there are people that would be grateful to live there and protect the property.
it's the younger generation Derek Hunter, I can't understand it either, it is scary that they feel they have to destroy things, such a beautiful home..
Cherie Grant Johnson Yes, because the older generation never destroyed anything, they always kept things pristine.
The condition of the mansion wasn't even that bad. That sucks they just demolished it.
I notice the same, the carpet still had bounce to it, clean walls , and the base boards are cleaner that my house! lol
I REALLY appreciate the fact that you don't talk during your videos! Two thumbs up 👍 👍
Boom! I'lll take that )))
It was built in 1981, and it was demolished a month ago today (nov 11th)
+Canucks747 noted I'll make that change ) thanks brotha
That was one good looking home
+Yash Dhruv agreed!
It's sad that not more stuff was saved or donated to second hand stores. There were a bunch of nice metal shelving units, I saw some solid brass furnace grates, the new light fixtures and nails in the boxes and of course all those books.
The stuff that could have been re purposed in this place is ridiculous!
Agree!... and that beautiful, brand new refrigerator... ??? As my father used to always say what a sin... :(
This just hurt the heart! So many lovely touches, so much wasted, so many lost resources. I desperately wish they could repurpose these things better. An amazing house! Half of the appliances were brand new! I can only hope more got taken out and reused than shown. What a horrible waste of such beautiful materials!
+Elly Baerman I hope that what could be salvaged was before demo, but who knows ... If not shame on them
What's really sad is that kids only know how to vandalize things. And mon and dad think they're angels......😞
So your saying you are a two goodie good shoes and your an angel innocent boy/girl???
Yep. ;) Never vandalized a single thing in my entire life.
Most likely because they have no idea what horrid heathens they really are
And you're saying you're one of these little monsters that walk amongst us, ali?
Who me? Hell no
07:13 Did that book read ART OF WAR? Oh my gosh the marble floors on the main! The star on the landing and the B+W throughout. Gorgeous! All white carpet in the rooms, the library. What a place! Thanks for the peek!
+~Whitewolf always happy to bring you along for the adventure ))
All i was thinking is all those built in's and fittings that could all be recycled. Such a waste.
Alex Thamer yes as well as the beautiful wooden doors and floors. Gorgeous, just sad to be demolished..
The hedges looked freshly trimmed. I love watching your videos all the way from New Zealand. They are so interesting. Thanks daadeeoh.
New Zealand!!! Love it thank you!! Please subscribe and hang around, I have so much more to offer )
DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration I have been watching for a couple of years now
Nice house. I like the spacious spaces, especially in the bedrooms and also the light colors, expand the spaces. Good channel. Greetings from Argentina.
+Diego Espinosa sweet Argentina! Love to hear from my international viewers!! Thank you so much !
Had to watch this again. That is a hell of a house. Damn shame they are going to destroy it.
+jisidorfisk it has been demod, while it's historic value is limited , it was still a nice house, but that urban sprawl for ya
why keep 1 property when you can squeeze 3 on to it??
I have rebuilt absolute Basketcase houses -- this was NOT one of them! Look at those floors! Nothing was blighted, structure intact -- in place of p.o.s. attached homes like packed rats? What a great idea! That contractor's going to make another absolute fortune.
But thank you very much for sharing your find with us - as always!
This home was build with a dream in mind, and the development will be built with $$$ in mind...Thanks so much for watching!!
sad but once was a fantastic family home and one lucky family at that...thanks for sharing!
Amazing place and grounds. Shame it was demolished..
What really fills me with despair is the absolute waste of so much, when most of us cherish so little.
I love how you insert photos into the video, really enjoy you're channel..cant understand why you havent got more subs?!?! im sure if you go on as you are that will change great job dude😀
+cheekychops2004 those are really, Kind words my friend.. thanks ) always searching for the elusive subscribers ))
It is a beautiful home! I can't imaging owning enough "stuff" to fill that place. I live in 700 sq ft.
ikr, my home is 2200sq ft.....I would be shopping for months & working extra hours....lol ...
+JFK .... yes, it doesn't take long to packed the rooms..then we still don't have enough space. ..lol
it was a beautiful home. I have to ask for permission to salvage usable parts to be donated to habitat for humanity. The doors, refrigerator, shiny flooring, pink toilet and mirrors etc.... are still good.
PS the fresh apples frightened me.YIKES
+Leah Drake yikes is right! I thought for sure this was the day I can into a squater
DaaDeeOh, your're the king of urban exploration.
+DJames13 what a great comment to start my day!!!! Thank you!!!
That tennis court surface looked playable except for the one crack with vegetation coming thru!
Great info! I can only hope they were removed and re purposed before demo! Thank you for your insight)))
DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration I hope so too! 👍
By the way, you have a new subscriber. ;D Keep up the awesome videos!
Nice huge place... I'm glad you didn't encountered the squatter.
Anyways, can't wait to see the incoming winter explores.
Is there a "Christmas special" video coming for us soon? :P
ETHAM WAS STAYING THERE THE BRUTE.....¡
Thanks for all that great Info about the house.
So disheartening. Why are these beautiful places being torn down for inferior, little box developments? Why do we allow it?
I think there are three possible reasons why:
The first possible reason is whoever owned the house may have ran into financial problems and they decide to sell and if they get an offer that is a reasonable offer or they get exactly what they were asking I don't think they would decline the offer, that would be pretty foolish of them.
As Peter Crenshaw, from the Three Investigators, would say:” I’ll buy a double helping of that”
Wish investors would buy these places that are savable , so many homeless people. Make a great 1/2 way house/treatment center. Group home, foster home. So many possibilities.
I am probably mistaken but when I saw this house, I felt like it was familiar home. watched a video on abandoned murderer's home where event occurred. the home was to be demolished as no one would purchase home. What a gorgeous house even with the vandalism!!!
Great video as always!!!😀
+Franscine Dorff thank you so much ))
This house was very nice and clean, before all the squatters and street trash moved in!
Great place i would buy it immediately, very nice explore loved watching it.
+rolf sinkgraven many thanks Rolf , happy to share with you )) if you can please share ))
Keep up the good work, very interesting stuff.
I shall )) Lots more to come
great video. lovely home. could be that sinks, doors and light fixtures were sold off. in a demolition, frequently things are sold to repurpose contractors. great job. thanks!
Always happy to share!! Please do the same for me and share it!!! )))

beautiful find the floors are amazing, it makes you wonder how these places become abandoned when so much money went on the construction 👍
they make an offeer that can not be refused..2.5 Million in 2014 was a ton of money
2.5 million. sold!!
People pass away, family estate inherits property. Wait for big offer. Mum and Dads legacy to their adult children who have so much that this home has little value to them but monetary for their lifestyles.
Like the speedup when your walking around .

checked out link you provided above about estate. WOW! LOTS OF GREAT STUFF! What happened with the owners of the place?
I know!! lots of derivative stuff...
vandalism is unacceptable
I agree! I wish they could find the pigs who do that!
come on folks we all know kids will be kids!!
look at all of the books that can go to charities

+SmoothbassmanStudios yup that's about the size of it ! Thanks for watching !!!
I see what you mean about the mix of high end and low end features. Most fancy homes would have vaulted ceilings with molding and a lot of drop ceilings there. A lot of shelves are not expensive and same with cabneits.
Ya this was mix and match for sure, its like they started high end and slowly had to lower expectations...
I think it looks as though the house was bought (from a previous owner) and being renovated and before it was completely finished they were offered that huge amount and it was never lived in. It was a nice family home for sure ) you have a nice day and happy new year as well 👍
Gosh, there's so much here from books to furnishings that could have been recycled, passed on or refurbished!! I wonder why it was demolished instead of just getting it restored.
looks like the owner left in pretty much of hurry. sadly the right buyer could have fixed this up for about two Hg the whole place and grounds
I like that you don't make comments in the videos, I think it allows for a better experience.
How do u find all these abandoned places?
Plice tape @10:14? Wonder what went on there... And I get sad when I see music left behind, even if it's stuff I don't like 'cuz the people still had memories with it. And.. I'm showing my age, but I remember that Simpsons album when it was new. :D
I'm curious if they sells or give the good stuff like (doors, good material...) before demolish these abandonned mansion
+mikeracer27 god I hope so, to think of all that re usable stuff in a land fill sickens me
It's more of waste to me. I understand it does not good just sitting there and old must be replaced with newer stuff in better condition but this was perfectly flip able.
To think of the amount of work that went into building the place, then have it torn down like a tenement?
Ah , c'mon man, show us a few books, please!! More interesting than nails, though that was a nice touch to let them fall through your fingers. Thankfully, it seems there was SOME kind of salvaging going on. Such a shame to let all that woodwork be destroyed. Once was a beautiful house!

+Pati Giddens no I don't, looks like a full clear out though. I bet they got top dollar for that land though, I have reached out to a friend to find out how much ))
Damn, the inside of that fridge was clean
I have to wonder when I see these beautiful homes destroyed, what would the former owners would think if they saw it like this, beyond sad what some people do.
where is this?
Griffen Chesnut you look like a Ghost.
wow I agree that it is such a waste of natural (declining) resources. I wish that they could maybe say to a not for profit organization " Hey this place will be demolished with contents, feel free to take anything you need." It makes me sad to see all of that wood, items and other building material to also be wasted. It feels like these people have enough money to not care about it, in their minds it probably justifies their waste.
i hate that someone just gave up on this beautiful home it had so much potential. ugh
OMG. So sad it wasn't saved
Sadly it's easier and cheaper for beautiful, historic homes like these to be demolished than it is to put the money and time into it.Developers want the land to put 100's of cookie cutter homes .All about fast, easy and the almighty dollar.
Totally agree!
A Dream House for sure it was....to bad it came to this ! thanks
Wtfffff who wouldn't live there? The house is beautiful
I wonder how many years it was occupied before it was abandoned.
Hope you've been well Daadeeoh. Been a while, I guess I wasn't receiving notifications? Just turned the bell on.
+CoinHuntingDrew hmmmm I wonder how many people this is affecting ? Maybe I should do a quick "notification" video?? Welcome home!!! 😎
What do you think happened to the owner?
so sad to hear it was knocked down . love the Video
Good sir, thank you, means a lot form a fellow explorer!
was out and about today just working on video now
It would be awesome if your going g to enter these properties to found out more info for your followers who watch them.
Really sad.
what a waste ...shame
I really feel bad for homes that are abandoned with so many qualities and features to be saved for someone else's enjoyment. It really angers me as well to see someone build something so unique and either couldn't afford it afterwards and just leave it and inferriorates me that the bank don't take over and try to sell it to someone else that could afford it.
guys ive been here too with my friends, this house was demolished because developers bought it to build town homes.
"Pride Cometh Before the Fall "
People get so wrapped up in themselves and money that they lose site of what truly matters and that is Values.
Gonna say it, I would've scavenged a bunch of those books
