It was sooo nice when the kid got on stage, put his arms around Morrissey and started to sing before leaving. Very very cool, a moment he will not forget. Congrats to his dad for raising his kids with good music, too, I'm sure he was incredibly proud and has watched this video quite a few times now.
What a wonderful memory for that young fan. 🥲 And what a testament to the timelessness of great music, touching hearts and minds across generations. Moz gets a lot of flak for a lot of things - but his legacy and genius as a lyricist and vocalist, and his love and generosity for his fans, cannot be questioned. This clip reminded me of all of that.
Wow, Morrisey is actually so COOL and great to his fans! The kid could remember all of his life sharing some time with his idol! Thanks Morrisey for your music, and your love.
That reverberating echoey fender guitar took a lot of mixing on the original and the one repetitive slide chord . Could be a backing track. Great though.
In 100 years time and beyond, they will still be covering Morrissey and the smiths songs, he is a legend in our time, and like so many philosophers artists poets who's true genius was only appreciated long after they were gone.
No they wing because of pieces of right wing hits we’ll probably be under freaking water. … but yes. It’s a great song but people who comment without mentioning his evident flaws deserve what’s coming in the not too distant future.
@@dmd7472Just because he isn't far left does not make him right wing. that feeling of hopeless abandonment and futility is still so embodied in this tune because Moz still knows how to deliver it with such effusiveness. brilliant little Moz too
38 years, 2 months, 6 days ago. Gladiola were hanging out of the back of Morrissey's trousers, at Coventry Polytechnic. I'd never seen of heard anything like it before.
Now hearing this song has more meaning to me after all these years..... I will always think of that kid on stage. Just made the feeling of this song so nice and memories ahead.
I have been a (the) Smiths fan since the mid 80's when in college. There is no band in the history of music that has influenced more musicians, other than the Beatles, than The Smiths. That is a known fact. From Marr's opening riff to HSIN to the lyrics from Meat is Murder. Maybe it was Moz' showmanship or attitude but their prints are all over the music industry since the 80s. People may hate him and he will tell you those he hates, but when it all boils down, it's hard to not be influenced in some way by his dark corner of the world. As a frontman, he is one of the best. I'm a HUGE metal head and would rank front men like this. Ranking is on the ability to move a crowd. 1. Bruce Dickinson 2. Ozzy 3. Morrissey 4. David Lee Roth 5. Ronnie James Dio
I nearly lost it when I saw that boy hugging Moz and then singing the lines.... _There's a club if you'd like to go You could meet somebody who really loves you So you go and you stand on your own And you leave on your own And you go home and you cry And you want to die_ At many points in our lives, we have ALL needed a hug as we sang those special words.
I remember seeing The Smiths 1985 March 25th Bradford St George’s Hall United Kingdom when I was 15, me and a friend snook into the gig on a school night without a ticket just too see Morrissey. We are from Manchester and this man was a true performer and at the time was such an idol too me. This performance was incredible !
Brilliant moment big shout out to that kids parents or even Grandparents for for introducing him to music that will along with a plethora of 80's British bands that will still be played in a hundred years time.
This song when it was released fitting in perfectly as to what was going on in my life then. I can still remember getting sh*t off my parents for playing the 12inch version over and over again on my record player at high volume. The Smiths are legends. Morrissey is my god.
Still praying for a Smiths reunion. Johnny Marr played a club in Dallas and I believe he and Morrisey should share bigger stages and reap the rewards from their success.
I saw morrissey on my 21st birthday in Gainesville Florida with a girl I was in love with, a lover who didnt really want to be in a committed relationship. She had a crush on Morrissey however. That was 30 years ago. Holy crap life goes by.
That was awesome...good ol morrisey f letting the lil lad get onstage with him...Nice 1 morrisey that boy will remember that moment for the rest of his days..
Wish I could claim the same, but I was a couple of years too young. I've seen Johnny's current band at least six times, saw him with The The, The Healers, The Cribs, Modest Mouse, just never The Smiths.
That kid might be sad and alone but he’s way cooler than his peers

That kid & the way he hugged him 👏👏😭💕💐
Maybe one of the best amateur videos of a Morrissey gig ever. The scene with him and the child on stage still gets me.
Wow, Morrisey is actually so COOL and great to his fans! The kid could remember all of his life sharing some time with his idol!
Thanks Morrisey for your music, and your love.
Incredible moment with the kid, handled perfectly by all involved.
This man is and will always be a legend. 💜
For all his madness, Morrissey is that guy with fantastic lyrics and that voice. He is a poet.
The kid was beautiful. Loved that he was holding gladioli and knew the words.
I love how moved he was by the kid
Interactive for many generations! Music for traveling through time and the mind. from GREECE🙏
Whole new band. New look. And STILL one of the greatest songs of the eighties.

I am in tears with joy right now! Morrissey forever!!
My wife and I saw Morrissey in Boston, probably around 1995-ish. Love him and the Smiths.

Marvellous Morrisey 👏👏👏👏👏👏

As usual awesome. I’m glad that bouncer was on board with the little kid coming in stage. He would have snapped the poor little guy like a twig!
The band sounds great,
