I know that in the UK we are only allowed 12ftlb on air rifles legally .What stops you just turning the air pressure up on the bottle to create more power ?
Most guns now have anti-tamper screws and fittings to stop them from being turned up. Older guns don't but getting caught with something over 12ft/lb stops most people messing as its a serious offence.
The 1022 replica wasn't a crossman 1077 no? I'd be interested in a genuine replica branded Ruger plinker but less so the crossman,, and anyway neither will be taking anything out of my new rifle fund, a birthday treat, a kral and very likely from yourself 😊
I'm interested in getting my first pcp and was considering a S410 classic. The question I have is a new unit built better than older models and would therefore be better value for money if I bought 2nd hand ? And do you get get many in your shop secondhand ?
It interesting that shops tend to stock high end guns but charges the same price of a new air rifle. Yet promots c02 and pcp. More than springers. Ok of the rack c02 and pcp might have the edge slightly. For accuracy. But with adjustments to spring you can have the same accuracy. Im not meaning a new powerful spring. The spring originally in rifle. To it sweet spot to remove recoil. I know it can be done as ive achieved it myself. And I’ve done same for some friends who was converted back to springers from pcp. The second is service on co2 and pcp recommend every three years where spring hardlyneeds it. Hence bsa cedets bsa air sporter and webleys ect still around not many pcp co2 old ones. But the biggest floor is if by chance we needed a rifle for survival ie food. And shops was no more or companies springer would be the only go too as co2 be a problem and pcp due to pups wouldn’t last long. Electric one couldn’t use. Question for you. If an air rifle was legal, back in say the 60s but now according to the latest rules is too powerful, what then? Do you have to fit a weaker spring or something?
I can't think of an air rifle from the 60's that was over 12ftlb but if there was , I would have to speak to my local firearms officer about it and probably either detune with a weaker spring or put on a firearms license. Most of the high powered guns were Amercain imported pump ups that didn't have a restrictor or blow off valve fitted.
@@blackpoolairrifles9311, I have no idea of what 12ft/lbs is. In my young days, it was measured in muzzle velocity. I may be wrong but 200ft/sec rings a bell.
